Chapter 5 - Ulta II

"Your Highness." Markus bowed. The King made a gesture for him to rise, and Markus did so. "So, how has Ulta done the past week?" "The guards have focused on training her in weapons, she seems to have paired really well with a battle axe. Surprising with how tiny she still is." "So according to your studies, will she be of good use to me?" "More than that sire." The King nodded. "She is welcome to stay than." Markus bowed. "I will be doing some ability training with her to work on control and see if there are any other abilities she may possess. It's her last day until we work on the little purple alien girl." The King nodded. "You've made great and fast progress, proceed as you wish." "Thank you, your Majesty."

Markus made his way outside to the training grounds. He found Ulta training with one of the trainees, the boy didn't stand a chance. As he swung his sword, she swung her battle axe smashing the boy into the stone wall. "AGH!?" "Ulta!?" Markus shouted through the flying rubble. "Markus?" A sweet voice rang out. "What have I told you about going all out against the human guards?" "But he asked me to." Markus looked at the boy in the blue cadet training suit, passed out in the rubble of the smashed wall. "He said girls can't fight, so I showed him what's, what." Markus sighed and chuckled a bit. "Well, he had it coming with comments like that. But of the two of us, we both know you're not just any girl, Lady Ulta."

She nodded with a frown. "Are we ready to get started for today?" She nodded. "Been out here since sunrise, I just want to get stronger, don't have time to sleep." "Whys that?" Ulta looked to the large wall that protected the palace from the outside. "Because if I can find the kidnappers for myself, then I can go home." "Your quite young, please. Leave the search to our knights and simply enjoy your time in the palace." She sighed.

"Let's get our minds off things and get started, what d'ya say?" She smiled and nodded. "So, before we get into training are there any abilities you have yet to show me?" She nodded. "Come kneel down." Markus knelt to her level and the small girl put her little white hand to his forehead. He blinked and jumped up confused. Right in front of him, was a young man with orange hair and green eyes. Same height and all. "You can... copy appearance's?" His copy turned back into Ulta and she nodded. "Absolutely astounding!" He clapped.

"Will there be any other abilities you would like to show me?" Ulta seems to hesitate and seems to be nervous but shakes her head no. Markus raises a brow and bows. "On to training than my lady." She curtsies and nods. He takes her battle axe and puts it into the weaponry. "Today we're going to be focusing on your abilities. I noticed your battle axe had a pink handle and seemed a bit on the sparkly side?" "I like pretty things, what can I say?" Markus chuckled and nodded. "After a week of getting to know you, I'm sure the whole palace knows that."

Markus wrapped his hand with a bandage and then dipped it into a powder. "This powder here was made from the flesh of a human sacrifice. It might sound harsh, but it's the only way we humans can use and perform magic. The sacrifice of human flesh and blood. Some refuse to admit it, so bones are grinded into a powder that's easier to use." He throws his hand up as some of the powder flies off his hand and the earth springs forth creating a large wall in the middle of the training field. "Each sacrifice steps forward of their own free will."

She frowns. "Things are different here, one human life sacrificing for the upbringing of a whole planet. It sounds brave." Markus nods and smiles. "But they must be pure." She nods in understanding once again. "You best be careful Lady Ulta." "Hm? Why?" "Your human form... is.. " He takes up a strand of her beautiful blonde hair. "Pretty, and pure." She looks down uncomfortably. He lets go with a chuckle and his eerie presence becomes light and happy again. Maybe she was just reading into things, Markus was here to help after all, there's no way he was bad.

"Aven!" Markus calls. A teen boy with bright blue eyes and a serious frown, comes out in full armor. "You will be fighting Markus with only the combat you have been taught and whatever powers you possess. Aven here is one of our strongest." She nods and ties her hair up keeping the hair clip in the front of her head and clipped tight.

She gets into a battle stance as the boy prepares as well. She blinks and the boy is in her face and knocks her down. "How...?" He was fast, agile, and strong. He punched her and she quickly raised her arm trying to control his emotions. His frown remained and he grabbed her arm snapping it. She screamed out in pain as the boy locked her arms and punched her with his free hand. She screamed and her body rose into the air flinging him off. He smashed into the wall but quickly got up.

Her body seemed hidden by a bright light, Markus couldn't see her. So, Markus looked to Avon in confusion having absolutely no clue what was going on. Avon, he looked at Ulta's glowing form and began to cry. A horrendous scream rang out from the glowing figure. The boy dropped to his knees and his tears turned to blood. Slowly and little by little parts of his body were torn off, limb by limb. The boy screamed in agony as he laid there limp losing so much blood he laid in his own puddle. The girl dropped from the air and fell to the ground passed out. Upon seeing her body completely healed and her unconscious face, Markus grinned an eerie and creepy smile. "Maids." Markus yelled and some nice ladies ran out in black dresses and white aprons with high buns. "Take Lady Ulta up to her room and get her cleaned up. Put her comfortably in her bed," The maids all bowed and one of them gently picked her up and started towards her room.

As Ulta and the maids disappeared into the palace, Markus walked over to Avon's torn up body. The boy was still screaming and crying in pain. "Avon." "HELP ME!!! HEAL ME WITH YOUR MAGIC!!!" "Now, now, Avon, you of all people know we have other capable trainees. You." "NO, NO YOU CAN'T DO THIS!" "Will make a great sacrifice." "NOOO." Markus raised his palm with the magic dust that remained, and a magic force shot through the boy's head as he tried to crawl away with the single arm attached to his body. His beat-up body suddenly going cold.

"I'm guessing this is why Ulta looked so nervous and wouldn't tell me. Our little sweet dark angel. The King shall be so delighted." The man snickered as the boys remains were dragged to the dungeons and thrown aside.

Markus proudly made his way to the throne room, throwing open the doors as he arrived. "OUT!" He yelled excitedly. His eyes were a deep blood red. The guards hurried from the room and the king smiled widely. "You found something." "OH, YOUR HIGHNESS." Markus was clearly on a blood high. "Please tell." "OH LADY ULTA, Oh Lady Ulta." The calm eyes of the beautiful boy Ulta had met were completely gone. In their place were the eyes of a man driven absolutely mad. "She is...an Angel." "I know she is quite beautiful, but she is just a child Markus." "NO, no she is...An Angel of..." His smile got wider and wider. "Death."
