Chapter 17 - Condition

A wandering thought crossed her mind. The thunder rumbled outside and the rain continued.

" Rakhshee?"

" yes young miss ?"

" By your logic, your Agha is also committed?"

Rakshee stayed silent. She struggled to answer for a while.

" I can't comment on Agha's matters, miss. Especially on this topic." She whispered.

Ayla was disappointed. Seeing this rakshee struggled some more but ultimately decided to tell bits and pieces.

" I'll tell you but you can't say it to anyone, or I'll be in trouble."

Ayla straightened immediately and made a gesture of zipping the lips.

" I don't know for sure but I have heard from around. Agha was betrothed from young to someone, the whole family was overjoyed. But I don't know what happened but it's said that the whole family died in an accident."

Ayla listened silently and unconsciously held her breath.

" I was just a child back then but I remember, the late Agha, Aghan's father, flying in rage and searching everywhere. Even our young Agha searched a lot but no avail and after that for years he became extremely depressed. Everyone knew this was a sensitive matter."

" Then what happened ? He doesn't seem depressed to me !" Ayla inquired.

Rakhshee whispered:

" Then he went away for studies and later became an Agha. Recently I heard he was getting engaged. He seems much more even tempered now."

The rain continued to fall till dusk and everything in sight was drenched. The black car entered the gates and stopped infront of the mansion.

Aghan returned after 4 days. He wore a black shalwar qameez and a brown shawl wrapped around him.

He entered the mansion and even before going to his room, he made his way towards Ayla.

He knocked on the door and after a while she opened the door. Wearing a silk sleeping suit, she opened the door.

He didn't enter the room but smiled as he asked :

" How have you been these days? "

Ayla surprised by his arrival, took a minute to look at him. He was truly handsome, especially in black, he looked dashing.

" When did you come back? Why didn't you tell me before leaving ?"

Instead of answering him, she retorted.

Aghan smiled. He liked how she was claiming him while questioning.

Ayla regretted her questions the minute she spoke but nothing could be done now.

" It's my fault. I should've let you know before leaving. Something from work came up suddenly. I just arrived and headed straight to you."

He answered patiently and then repeated his question.

" How have you been ? Did something happen while I was gone? I was worried about you."

Ayla stared at the man, there was something different about him.

"Nothing happened. I was bored."

Aghan expected so. He knew every detail about her through his secret reports.

"Okay you go sleep. We will talk tomorrow."

" Talk about what?"

Ayla has been fretting that he will ask about Dilawar again.

Aghan grew a little serious and whispered to her:

" About your condition"

Ayla's eyes widened, she didn't expect him to notice and even wanting to discuss this with her.

"I don't have any condition."

Aghan looked at her, she behaved like her tail had been stepped on. He stepped forward and entered her room, while closing the door behind him.

" What are you doing ?" She breathed.

He calmly sat on a chair and began speaking.

" I am talking about the voice you hear."

Ayla's breathed hitched. He knew.

" I- I don't know what … what you're talking about !"

" Ayla relax"

He saw her getting nervous and was afraid she might have another panic attack.

" There is nothing to worry about."

" I found a someone who can help you."

Ayla looked at him, finding any trace of malice but there was none. Only concern and

Indulgence ?

" How did you know?"

" It is not your fault Ayla, it's in your blood."

" We will talk tomorrow."

He was about to leave but she grabbed him arm and stopped him.

" Tell me now."

Seeing her confused, he sat her down and began explaining.

The Malwarie and Tashwares are strong clans tracing back to hundred of years. These clans were independent and located on far sides of mountains, so they never clashed.

But once a man from Tashware and a woman from Malawarie eloped to get married against their families. The woman's family was pure descendants of Clarivyont.

The woman gave birth to a child with powers, she can harmonize the yin and yang in people. If she wants.m, she could align herself with nature's energy and do bigger thing. In Chinese mythology it is called cultivation.

The power was too much for a child to bear, so with efforts of many shamans they locked it. But it was predicted that all the females from this lineage will have these powers locked. They can either bear them for the rest of their life or ascend to greatness.

Aghan's summarised the condition, but found Ayla silent. Unsure whether she understood or not, he explained.

" I found someone who can help you lessen these symptoms. You can rest assured. I won't let anything happen to you.

"..."

" Ayla ?"

"You're saying it's a generational disease"

" Yes"

" How can I remove it completely?"

" You can lessen it, as long as you don't get stressed or panic. I will arrange proper session with shaman so you can learn how to control it !"

"..."

" There have been many before you and they lived a completely healthy life. It's curable."

" ..."

" I had a hunch that's why I brought you here in the first place."

That was lie. But he didn't intend to tell her yet. She fears that she is the only one with this condition. She has to feel comfortable enough to trust him.

" When would the sessions start?"

Aghan sighed.

" Soon."

Ayla nodded while a storm brewing in her mind. Thousands of what why's and how swirling in mind, she heard him say :

" But there is one problem"
