She stood there for a few seconds, doing nothing, saying nothing. It was as if she had passed out standing up. It wouldn't last long, her tears evaporating and her eyes blinking away the irritation.
"I'm glad you could make it." She'd speak, her emotions still an unknowable thing. Her hands refusing to let go.
"Well... I-" She'd interject.
"And I am glad you're alive." Her emotions were clear then, relief, and another I wasn't familiar with, so I made no assumptions.
"Thank you?" I wasn't sure what I should have said, but I hoped that was enough.
"The crowns would like to meet you... only you." She'd look at Stella, confused.
Stella would meet her gaze with blank eyes and an air of superiority, before she spoke of course.
"I'm just the guard... He's all yours." Stella would smile, an attempt at a good impression.
I couldn't help but to notice the duality of the words she spoke, but perhaps I was the only one who noticed. Maybe I was just imagining it.
