When you're unable to make a decision, the instinct of intelligent life will make you want to escape, and the Great Speaker is no exception.
On one side is his Lord, who granted him power, and on the other side are the intelligent beings he has nurtured over many years, those who revere him and view him as both master and father.
Due to generational changes, the Great Speaker really doesn't feel much attachment to the other creatures in the Divine Light Alliance, including those other speakers. He's lost count of how many generations those speakers have gone through. The current ones are merely the twentieth or thirtieth generation descendants of his old companions, and he wouldn't even recognize them without a roster.
