The bright church, Dean, who had already changed into a gray robe, knelt piously in front of the statue and prayed.
The sunlight quietly shone on him through the colorful window.
Behind him, a clergyman pushed open the door and walked in. Startled, he asked, "Lord Bishop, why are you dressed like this? Did you call me for something?"
Dean slowly opened his eyes and said softly, "There is a letter on the table. Please deliver it to the Cardinal Court. Before the new bishop takes office, you will act on my behalf."
"New bishop? Are you... resigning as bishop?"
"Yes." Dean stood up, strapped on his worn-out satchel, and walked up to the clergyman, calmly smiling.
"Where are you going?"
"I am going on a journey, to do what I can to help those who truly need my assistance. To be a good and upright person. I'm leaving this place in your hands." As he spoke, Dean lightly patted the clergyman's shoulder and brushed past him.
