Chapter 3 - Where is Erindale and why do you have green hair?

Jack looked to his side and saw his weapons laying next to him. His standard issued M4 Carbine and Sig Sauer M17. Rolling over to his side he wanted to check the magazines to see if they were empty, as he checked both weapons they were both fully loaded with a bullet in the chamber. All the magazines in his pouches were full too. Jack stood up and began to holster his weapons while the green haired girl eyed him quizzically.

"What are those things you are carrying, sir". Jack was shocked, had she never seen a gun before? how sheltered could you be? It's not like she was a child so this left Jack with even more questions.

"They're guns, weapons, you've never heard of them"? She stood up next to him.

"No, sir, never heard of them. I have seen Swords and Shields, Bows and Arrows, Enchantment Books, Wands and Magic Staffs, but I have never seen a... goon before." Jack let out a little laugh and shook his head.

"Okay, enough with the LARPing and tell me what's going on here" She gave him a sharp look

"I do not know what a LARP is but I assure you that is not what I am doing! I just saw you laying here unconscious with your goons next to you in weird clothes and wanted to make sure you were okay."

Jack was confused but shook it off once he saw someone walking towards them, he looked angry the way he was walking, Jack could see it in the girls face that it was probably for her, her face was flushed and she looked afraid. Once the man arrived he took no time before leaning into the girl screaming at her

"You were to be home hours ago! what is taking you so long!? I do not know how many times I have to tell you that you must be home"! The man was continuing to yell, and through his tirade Jack had learned that the girl's name is Ein and the man seems to be her husband, and he abuses her.

Jack could tell with the way she flinched and looked away every time the man lifted his hands. Jack let out an exasperated sigh before walking over to end this. As soon as Jack got close enough, the man looked right at him angrily and began yelling at him.

"And who do you think you are? Why are you dressed like that? Were you trying to sleep with my wife!? Tell me"? Jack looked the man in the eye without a word, staring into the man's soul, unblinking, until the man took a step back. A bead of sweat trickling down the man's forehead showed Jack that he successfully intimidated the man. Sometimes you don't need to use your words to get your point across.

As the man was stepping back, there was a loud THUNK sound and Jack saw the man fall to his knees with an arrow through his head. With no time to think, Jack ran toward Ein who stood still in shock, and dragged her down to the ground. Jack rolled over onto his stomach with his M4 already up looking through his sights.

Jack could see where the shot came from, he saw three.... little green men. 'Are those goblins' Jack thought 'What the fuck is going on? why am I getting shot at with bows by goblins? What the hell is happening?'

Jack took a deep breath and held it POP....POP....POP.... Jack took three shots and nailed all three targets. Ein was covering her ears and shaking in the fetal position.

Jack went to touch her shoulder and tell her its all over and she screamed and jumped up.

"What are those things and why are they so loud!? Those are weapons of mass destruction!" Jack tried to calm her down as much as he could but she was spiraling in her fear. It wasn't until she began to beg Jack for her life was he able to calm her down enough to explain what a gun was.

While Jack was at it, he explained where he was and what he was doing before he woke up here.

Ein looked at Jack in wonder, as he explained how guns work and what they do 'they really are weapons of mass destruction' she thought to herself. Jack did not seem like a bad person to her. I mean he did save her life after all, how bad could he really be?

Ein then went on to explain where Jack was and what it was that attacked them. Jack listened with a much more open mind after killing those goblins. Ein did confirm they were goblins. Jack couldn't help but think of those video games he used to play and books he used to read. Maybe he was a prophesized person who came to save the world! Jack thought, 'yeah right, I'm no hero, the military made me into a professional killing machine, I don't exactly fit the mold of a hero'.

As they spoke to each other, the sun began to set and Ein invited Jack back to her home. Jack looked over at her dead husband and tried to say his condolences but Ein stopped him short.

"He was an evil man, who hurt me constantly, he will not be missed and I pray the Gods burn his soul". Jack took a gulp, 'Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned' Jack thought.

They walked into town and Jack saw carriages being pulled by horses, everything was lit up with torches instead of light bulbs, and everyone seemed to be buying things from outside merchants using some type of copper currency. This really were different here. It didn't help that everywhere Jack went everyone eyed him. Jack couldn't tell if it was due to his clothes being so different from everyone else, his guns, or the way he walked and talked so differently from everyone there. Jack shrugged assuming it was a combination of everything and just ignored the stares. Jack has never cared if people stared or what they thought of him, he was the definition of uncaring and aloof. He had no qualms about making friends or enemies and was always down for a fight.

After walking across town, Ein stopped to pick up some groceries, and led Jack back to her home that she lived in with her husband... her late husband. Ein ran a hot bath for Jack and went to cook some supper while he bathed. Appreciative of the courtesy, Jack took full advantage to bathe and then ate his fill when supper was done and served. Jack would catch Ein stealing glances at him, Due to Jack being so large in stature compared to her husband, there were no clothes for Jack to change into, so he settled with just taking his gear off and his shirt just leaving his pants on.

Ein would glance at Jacks shirtless body, muscular and lean, a body that has clearly seen a lot of battle due to the amount of scars he has across it. As much as she didn't want to look, she couldn't help herself, he was the most handsome man she had ever seen. Tall, muscular, he had deep set eyes that seemed to glow blue and jet black hair. He was the most handsome man she had ever seen in her life.

Ein collected the plates and took them to the kitchen and Jack sat there a moment contemplating what to do next.

"I'll sleep out here on the floor if you'd like" Jack said as soon as Ein came back into the dining room.

"Nonsense, you will take the bed and I will sleep out here for tonight, what kind of host would I be if I made my savior sleep on the floor".

After discussing it back and forth Jack decided it was best to just do as she says. Jack went into the room and blew out the candles lighting it up and went to sleep.

Jack awoke suddenly in the night to the feeling of someone in the bed with him. He felt a hand caressing his body from his chest down to his stomach and even a little below before he grabbed it and looked. It was Ein, her green eyes glowing in the moonlight, seduction painting her face.

"I couldn't help myself, you are such a strong man and I am now a widowed woman, I am in need of comforting for the night, would you please do me the..... Pleasure".

Jack let go of her hand and let her explore some more. He had been to war for a long time and a man has needs. He decided to indulge himself for the night, and indulge he did. One thing he did mean to ask, but never got the chance to, and he sure as hell wouldn't do it in the moment but

'why the hell does she have green hair, and do the carpets match the drapes?'
