Chapter 323 - Abnormal

The Crystal Dragon King watched with amusement but also some worry as Misali tore through the ranks of the 4th Realm Death Howlers. She tore bodies apart with claws and fangs, or she breathed out boiling waves of water that melted flesh and stole lives.

The Death Howlers below the 4th Realm didn't need any further input from her and dropped like flies as the scorching rain reached critical levels and ended them one by one. It was a tragic sight to be honest, but that only excited his deeply suppressed savage desires.

In any case, it was good that Misali still had enough control to keep her tormenting rain restricted to the space occupied by Death Howlers; it would not have been good if she attacked her own allies.

But still, he worried.

Misali was using way too much mana, and it was becoming increasingly clear that something was very wrong with her.

His muscular brow furrowed as he went deep into thought.

Within the forest, Titania and her group had already halted their advance to watch the absurd spectacle in the sky that could be seen even from here.

"What on Eridius…" Alan muttered beside her. "Has she gone crazy? Why is she going all out against those withered roots, shouldn't she be conserving her strength? Or maybe… this is part of a deeper scheme? A trap of sorts?" Alan looked at her.

Titania didn't respond for a moment but she carried the same thoughts.

The plan had always been for the Dragons to create a distraction, but wasn't this going overboard? If the Supreme Water Dragon unveiled the entirety of her strength, she would lose the element of surprise against foes that really mattered.

Although the round ugly creatures that could release sound attacks were unique, they were clearly not all that strong on their own. They certainly didn't warrant this kind of reaction. It was strange. But maybe it really was part of some elaborate scheme. Were they trying to bait someone to take advantage? But who?

"Perhaps." She replied absentmindedly to Alan, then she shook her head. "Let's keep going. Things are likely to become more chaotic and we can't waste time."

Back on the shore, Chad the Phoenix King was claiming his own fair share of lives on the battlefield. Sometimes he would grab and crush someone's skull with his talons, other times he would tear out their flesh with his beak, or if he was feeling lazy like now, with a flap of a wing he could shoot out a crescent shaped flame projectile which would kill at least 1 being.

But even in the midst of all that, he had his attention on the dominant display performed by the Supreme Dragon of Water.

He still remembered when he had fought her some years ago. Back when he had first approached Dragon Mountain, a misunderstanding had occurred that resulted in him, his mate and the 9 Flame Queen being attacked by the Supreme Dragons.

He had nearly died in the fight and he would have if it wasn't for his unique body that was more elemental than physical, his prodigious healing that could bring him back from the edge of death if he had enough mana, and the 9 Flame Queen's profound strength that allowed her to fend off most of the Supremes.

It was definitely a down moment in his life, especially with how many times he came close to losing his True Mate, but he also remembered very vividly that Misali had also approached death's door. It was he himself that put her in that state after all.

This had left an imprint on his mind that had him thinking that she was one of the weaker Supreme Dragons, but now, he wasn't so sure…

Something to note was that whatever strange property in her water magic that was causing those strange creatures so much pain, was certainly not present in their fight. Other than the pain caused by the force behind the attacks, the only thing it did was hamper his movements and occasionally drown him. It couldn't even wet him for long since his flames would burn away the residue.

It did not melt his body, like it seemed to be doing to those Monsters. Had she held back on him? But that didn't make sense, who was dumb enough to hold back their strength to the point that they nearly lost their life? It was more likely that she had comprehended a new power afterwards and was now showing the results.

'Impressive…' He admitted. 'Although the timing and target of your grand reveal is lacking, what you have achieved appears to be very powerful. But you're not the only one who has gotten stronger.'

A glint flashed through his eyes.

…

Not too far away, a huge Owl with ethereal white and silver feathers yet ominous all black eyes was also looking at the tragedy taking place in the sky with vested interest, however he showed no outward reaction.

Under the sea, 3 crimson eyes gazed at the scene with disdain.

In another location of the forest, a rare creature in Enlightened Form was leading new forces towards the shore. He was 2 metres tall with grey skin, shaggy green hair, piercing green eyes and bulging muscles, but the most eye-catching thing about him were the tusks that could be seen as he yelled out orders.

This was a Savage Earthen Ogre, a member of Asura's race, but it was clear to see that his allegiance had changed.

He was running towards the battle with a ferocious expression on his face, only casting a wary glance at the Dragons from time to time, but all of a sudden he came to a stop and gave the slaughter his full attention.

The ferocious expression instantly flattened into passiveness and the green of his irises expanded to occupy the entirety of his eyes. The mark of Envy also appeared on his face.

"How amusing…" He spoke calmly, but what was eerie was that his voice was completely different to before.

It was as if someone else were talking.
