Pete was somewhat baffled, not knowing how Ling Feng knew something was wrong at Gerard's place. But given the urgency of the situation, he could discern the importance, so he didn't ask much and just pressed his ear against the door.
However, the door wasn't shut and made a slight creak, opening directly!
Ling Feng had locked his Divine Sense inside the room, knowing there was no one by the entrance, so he simply pulled Pete inside.
Voices filled with anger came from within, and Pete quickly played his role as a translator, whispering to Ling Feng, "Gerard is questioning what the other person intends to do."
"The man said he wants Gerard to help him get into the vault, or he'll kill his family if he refuses!"
"Gerard said it's impossible, he can't make this decision alone."
The conversation continued, and although it was in the local language, Ling Feng found one voice somewhat familiar, as if he'd heard it somewhere before, but he wasn't quite sure.
