*Daphne*
I watched Eva anxiously as she paced back and forth in front of me. Her slim jaw was clenched tightly, and her large gray eyes seemed extremely focused on the floorboards beneath her feet.
She was eerily silent as she strode back and forth, but I could almost detect some of her dark magic surrounding her like a thin sheen of sweat. She was glowing ever-so-slightly as if she was ready at any moment to unleash all her power at once.
Eva’s behavior was exactly why Rion and Jasper suggested she wait with me as they got plans underway. Apparently, the interrogation had her wound up. I could tell that they were both worried about her.
Not only was the overwhelming amount of stress not good for her, but the more talk of the planned attack came about, she seemed to be moving closer and closer to the edge of her control. It was Rion who finally suggested that the two of us go upstairs for the night while he and Jasper continued planning.
