Wayne Lane had started lecturing Hannah about these things while they were still on the road.
Hannah actually listened quietly, a rarity for her.
Even Wayne Lane himself felt it was a bit odd, "Don't you have anything to say?"
"What would I say?" Hannah lowered her head to look at the path before her, hands behind her back, "You've said everything that needed to be said."
The sun had climbed to the center of the sky, with its light becoming piercing, and even the shadows cast by the leaves carried a scorching heat.
Wayne Lane glanced at Hannah's profile before turning away, "I'm telling you this just in case."
"In case of what?" Hannah stopped walking.
Wayne Lane stopped with her.
They had just stopped under the shade of a tree.
On the small path, there were other travelers hastening to board the starship, both old and young, mostly families out on trips.
"If we accidentally get separated in Bruce, at least you should remain alert," said Wayne Lane.
