When Andy caught a faint whiff of an elusive stench, his face scrunched up from the unpleasant odor. Before he could determine its source, the stench thickened, becoming undeniable.
"Who farted..."
Someone muttered. At such a tense, decisive moment, this comment felt inappropriate, but the speed at which the odor spread was startling. Within seconds, it had grown unbearably pungent.
Andy bolted to his feet and shouted, "Evacuate! Retreat! Get out of here, now!"
Andy usually dealt with broader strategies and wasn't one for detailed commands, but his insistence on retreating this time was unwavering.
The intelligence officer was bewildered and whispered, "Why? We've just drawn Mad Dog's attention here; he's bound to come..."
Andy urgently grabbed the intelligence officer and pointed to his nose, saying, "I have a sharp sense of smell. This stench is abnormal. We're in a sealed underground space. No matter what it is, we have to leave. Now!"
