"Of course I would like to share, why won't I?" Jack asked her with a smile; there's no one in this world that he would rather talk to apart from his sister. He really can't believe that he has his sister right here with him, even though he's not so sure yet that they are related.
Jane was surprised by what she heard from him. She didn't think that Jack was this jovial; he's always so uptight, and it was really surprising to him even smile. He must be in love with whoever the person is, and she loves that for him. Love is a beautiful thing and everyone deserves it.
"Okay then go ahead and tell me about it." She said to him, and Jack moved closer to her as he prepared to tell her what had been happening. He definitely won't go into details, but he will ensure he says something.
"So there's this girl I met and I really like and I don't even know her name," Jack said, feeling embarrassed; he's supposed to know the name of the person he's in love with.
"Then ask for her name, or isn't she willing to tell you her name?" She asked Jack and he shut his eyes.
"That's the problem, I can't find her. I've looked all over for her everywhere. But she's nowhere to be found, that's why I hired a private investigator. I will have to find her one way or the other." Jack said, and Jane felt touched; she could see the determination in his eyes.
"You must love her," Jane said and Jack nodded his head.
"Yes, I do, as much as the boss loves you," Jack said, and Jane blushed; this is one thing she loves to hear.
"Hmmm! I do hope that she's in love with you as well." Jane said and Jack went silent. That's one thing he's not so sure of; they only spent a night together, and he has not been able to find her ever since.
"I don't know that, but I'm making sure to pursue her. I will never know until I try and, I'm willing to go any lengths for her." Jack said and he paused for a while. He didn't realize how much he loved this girl until now, this is crazy, and it's driving him crazy.
"I'm sure you will find her," She said and Jack nodded.
"I'm sure I will," He said and checked his wristwatch; he hoped the private investigator would call him as soon as possible. He would like to tell Chris what the new development is, but he wants to find her first.
He still needs to know the reason why he's after her as well, he has been looking for her for years now. What if he wants to hurt her, Christopher Smith is not someone to fiddle with.
"And what are you two all about now?" Mrs Whitney came into the ward as she saw them both talking to each other in a friendly manner.
"Mrs Whitney!" Jane called excitedly; Mrs. Whitney moved closer to her and hugged her.
"Oh my dear child, I miss you so very much. I'm so glad that you are awake now; I want to believe that you are feeling much better, or is there something you want? Do you need me to call the doctor? Don't you worry; your fiance said you can have anything you want?" Mrs Whitney said and Jane looked at her with a shocked expression.
"My fiance, what's that all about?" Jane asked her and she tapped her on her shoulder.
"Hello, Jane! I'm sure you heard him when he said that you both are getting married in the next two months. Did you forget already?" Mrs Whitney asked her with her hand on her waist and Jane laughed out loud.
"You look like you are going to scold me or something," Jane said and Mrs Whitney nodded her head.
"Yes, I'm going to scold you if you allow such a fine man to go; he's just the best man that you can ever think of, Jane. Don't tell me you don't want to marry him; come on, child. I'm more than positive that he's going to very good care of you. Can't you see that?" Mrs Whitney asked her and she nodded her head.
"Oh, Mrs Whitney! I know that and I do want to marry him. I'm just a little bit scared that's all, you know everything I've been through with men. I don't know Mrs Whitney, I don't know." Jane said and Mrs Whitney held her hand and patted it.
"I understand exactly how you feel and why you are so afraid but I can assure you, this is the best decision you will ever make. I'm telling you, there's nothing wrong with Mr Chris; he loves you, and he loves your son. Don't you agree with me?" Mrs Whitney asked and she nodded her head.
"I do agree, he's the best man. I just hope that I don't screw this up." She said and Mrs Whitney shook her head as she smiled at her.
"I'm more than confident that you won't screw this up, I promise you. Let me tell you a story; this is something I have never told you before or anyone for that matter." Mrs Whitney said and Jane was excited to hear the story. Even though Jack can already guess what the story is all about, he would still like to hear all about it.
"When I was much younger, I worked as a maid in one of the biggest families in the city back then. And guess what? I fell in love with the young master of the house. And he loved me too but, we were both still young and we were scared. I was just a maid and he was the heir to a very big estate." Mrs Whitney began to say with so much sadness in her eyes.
