Chapter 1 - Prologue

August 22 1989, U.S.A 12:39.

A man lays there on a hospital bed.He looked old, with little to no hair, wrinkly skin and with few teeth. This particular man was named William, and he was dying due to cancer.

William was a man filled with many regrets. He had fought in two world wars, got cheated upon by his wife and got divorced and lost custody of his kids. And worse yet his country, for whom he had fought 2 FUCKING world wars for just left him, in the sidelines to rot. He now lays there in the sidelines slowly dying uncared for by any one.

He smiled bitterly as he felt his end dawning near. He has lived a long and an unfulfilling life. Being diagnosed with terminal Liver cancer a few months back his life had been hell, just like when he had fought in the previous world wars. He did not even get any military pension and had to use his life saving just to cover the hospital fees and now, he could no longer afford staying in the hospital any more.

He was to be discharged from the hospital tomorrow but it seemed like today was to be his end.

A heart attack followed by multiple organ failure ended his life. As he lay there in the bed motionless a single stray tear fell of his cheeks.

Thus came an end to William Ferdenand. A man forgotten by the very nation he served, veteran of two world wars, and a man filled with many regrets.
