Chapter 226 - Chapter 226 - Back to Konoha.

[Chapter Size: 1900 Words.]

Third Person POV

Land of Iron, Year 42.

...

...

The Kage meeting continued for another day, while Orochimaru, who had sworn to keep the negotiation secret from his sensei, had left the castle to inform the ninjas that they would soon be returning to the Land of Fire and should be prepared for it.

Quickly, the Konoha ninjas began to organize themselves as the camp started to be dismantled. Finally, the Kages, their advisors, the feudal lord, and his sole companion moved out in the directions of their respective ninjas, with a dozen ANBU agents escorting them as they exited through the gates.

"Hey, Konoha ninjas!" a voice came from the group of ninjas outside, just as the Hokage was approaching the Konoha ANBU like all the other village leaders.

The Konoha ninjas turned to look at the one who had spoken, standing among the Kiri group.

"I'll remember what you did to us. Don't forget that. Cross our path again, and I'll make you pay, especially the one who attacked us!"

The speaker was none other than the ANBU who had provoked Minato in front of the river and was among those knocked out, now searching for him in the group.

"Look at this guy!" someone mocked from the Konoha group.

"He better be careful and not cross our path." Another person responded, while no Konoha ninja actually cared about the threat.

The other nations said nothing about it, but Minato could feel that the anger and hatred were still present in all the other groups.

Finally, the Hokage stepped into the group, accompanied by Danzō, Orochimaru, the Daimyō, and his son, along with their escort.

"Well, let's head back," he said, while the muscular man who had brought the feudal lord here prepared to take him back as well. He was one of the ninjas who had fainted due to Minato's Conqueror's Haki, as he was neither a Konoha ninja nor an elite one, falling unconscious without resistance.

Either way, the Daimyō, in his usual manner, entered his transport—if Minato could even call it that—before his son followed shortly after, and the Hokage stepped forward.

"Let's go back. There's nothing left for us here," he said as he secured the scroll that officially sealed the peace, ready to announce it to the village. The Hokage seemed aware of the issues that had occurred outside the castle but said nothing about them and swiftly moved forward, with all the Konoha ninjas following him.

Upon arriving in the Land of Fire, the group split up. While Alpha Squad headed to the capital to drop off the Daimyō, the Hokage went straight to Konoha.

Dropping the Daimyō off in the capital was not a lengthy process, as he, having remained unharmed, didn't mind the escort much. But his son bid farewell to Minato.

And so, the Konoha ninjas advanced toward their village. They arrived at a time when the village was already celebrating, as a few hours earlier, the news had spread that peace had finally returned, officially marking the end of the Second Great Ninja War.

That night, Konoha held a grand celebration once again. Minato received an invitation to celebrate elsewhere and accepted.

"I heard your house is coming along well," Tsunade commented as she served some dishes at the table, while Minato sat with the girls around him, starting to eat.

"Yes, it's been under construction for a few months now, but it will still take a little longer," Minato said.

They were celebrating that night away from the village, in the main house of the Senju clan, as Tsunade had taken the initiative to invite them upon their return from the mission, and everyone was off duty from escorting the Hokage.

"Why didn't you choose a house here? We have plenty available these days," Tsunade murmured without holding back.

"Mom!" Tsuna said to her mother upon hearing that. Obviously, Tsunade wanted to see her daughter close by, but Minato refused nonetheless.

"I'd like to build my house with my own identity. I don't mind if it's a little far from the village center," Minato said.

"I still think it's a waste. You could even buy a plot of land, or, like I said, take part of ours since you're so eager to build your own house," Tsunade insisted.

"Too late to consider anything like that, Miss Tsunade..." Minato replied. After all, his house was already being rebuilt, and even so, he didn't want it to be in the middle of the village.

"I see... Anyway, while you all eat, I'm going to drink a little," Tsunade said, placing a bottle of sake in the middle of the table.

"Sis, I think you should take it easy with that," Nawaki said while eating with just one hand, looking at his sister seriously.

"Don't be annoying, Nawaki! Just because you look more muscular now doesn't mean you get to lecture me about living a healthy life," Tsunade retorted, since Nawaki was indeed stronger, having been training the Eight Gates, although he hadn't even unlocked the first one yet. He was in his own isolation, focusing on his body to prepare for the technique he would use in the future.

Duy had truly played an important role in Nawaki's training and determination. While he seemed much stronger now, his once gloomy expression had been replaced by someone who was truly stepping up as the head of the Senju Clan, relieving the burden that his niece had been carrying alone, and Tsuna no longer had to intervene directly. As Nawaki began to take on his responsibilities, after all, he would be the one to lead the Senju Clan.

And today, in particular, he was looking at Minato in a strange way, seeming a little hesitant to ask something.

Either way, they began eating, Minato seated with Tsuna, Kushina, Mikoto, and Hanabi at both sides of him at one end of the table, while Tsunade, sitting at the head of the table, drank and even asked if anyone wanted to gamble, mainly targeting Minato, asking if he wanted to bet money. Obviously, Konoha's Yellow Flash refused.

And as Minato was about to leave—having decided to sleep in his own house—Mikoto would accompany him after taking Hanabi back to her clan.

But then Nawaki approached.

"Hey, Minato, could we talk in private?" Nawaki suddenly asked, while Minato looked at the girls. He signaled for them to give them a moment alone, and they moved to a corner.

The blond looked at Nawaki with some suspicion. "How can I help you?" Minato asked.

The boy still seemed hesitant. "I wanted to ask for some advice..." He still seemed stuck at that moment.

"What is it?" Minato asked again, still looking at him with some suspicion.

The boy remained silent for a few seconds while Minato also waited for his answer. He looked at Minato before deciding, a little embarrassed, and then suddenly blurted out:

"Well, you know, I need advice about girls," he suddenly said, making Minato raise an eyebrow.

"What do you mean by that?" Minato asked, stunned.

"It's just that you're so good at it, and as the clan leader, I need to find a good companion. That's why I wanted some tips," he said abruptly.

"Why are you saying this...?" Minato asked cautiously. Nawaki wouldn't ask something like that so easily.

"Sorry about that. It's just that this book says that the great disciple of Jiraiya learned more than just jutsus and became a great ninja under his master. He mastered the art of winning over women! It even says that you won't just choose one woman for your life, but a dozen of them!" he said, pointing to a book that Minato quickly grabbed.

Nawaki couldn't even react to Minato's speed, especially since the blond had acted immediately to see what it was, after all, Nawaki had mentioned him as Jiraiya's disciple.

"What is this?" Minato murmured, quickly flipping through the book before looking at the cover.

"One of the Great Tales of the Great Jiraiya," the title of the book made Minato's mouth fall open, stunned.

"When did he publish this?" Minato asked, looking at Nawaki. He knew this book hadn't been at the stalls the last time he checked, as he was well aware that his master was always publishing books, and this one had completely caught him off guard.

"No wonder you're surprised. It was published two days ago," Nawaki said.

"Two days?" Minato murmured. "But how did he publish a book? He was supposed to be in the Land of Rain, training his new disciples," Minato muttered, lost in thought.

It seemed like this was a book Jiraiya had been writing even before leaving for the village. Minato remembered him drafting manuscripts and sketches here and there, and he must have finished it while still acting in the war. But he hadn't imagined that it would actually turn into a book, and it wasn't even the one about Naruto that Nagato was supposed to help him write.

Minato quickly shook his head and looked at Nawaki seriously.

"Look, I don't know what my sensei wrote about me in that book, but don't believe a word of it!" he said in a serious tone before narrowing his eyes even more. "Does your sister know that you're reading Jiraiya's books, Mister Nawaki?" he asked suspiciously. After all, Tsunade must have hated those books, let alone her brother reading them.

"No, okay!" Nawaki's face immediately turned pale. "Listen, Minato," he began, stammering. "Don't tell her anything. If you consider me a friend and a relative since you're marrying my niece, don't do it. No way. Because if she finds out I have Jiraiya's books, she'll kill me," Nawaki murmured, looking as if his life depended on it.

Minato just sighed. "I won't say anything, and anyway, I won't have twelve wives nor am I an expert in wooing women... But I... I wouldn't recommend reading my sensei's books to understand women. Well, I don't really know what to tell you about this, but find someone you truly like, someone who shares your interests and hobbies. Don't go chasing after women who don't care about you. That's all I can tell you," Minato said, while Nawaki seemed a little discouraged.

"Come on, don't be like that… you're the heir of a great clan," he patted Nawaki on the back, who, in that moment, seemed to have his confidence shaken.

"But I'm crippled," Nawaki murmured, a bit down again.

"A crippled man who is the leader of a clan and someone who will become very strong with the Eight Gates. Don't be foolish. Besides, your hand's condition can be changed," Minato said, making Nawaki look at him, somewhat confused.

"Well, we'll talk about that in the future," Minato said, not wanting to give him false hope without knowing how to create a Mokuton arm. "Anyway, don't rush things with women. Take your time. When you find someone you know well enough to marry, make sure you know everything about her before you decide she will be the matriarch of the Senju clan," Minato said before leaving.

He met up with his companions and headed to the Hyūga clan to drop off Hanabi before returning to his apartment with Mikoto.
