Allen passed by Venom, who entered the building.
[Are you going to just let that slide?]
"He seemed nice. Maybe he's just scary-looking…"
"Watch out!" A girl with half-white, half-black hair came skating while chewing gum and listening to music. She didn't see Allen in time and almost crashed, but he caught her by the waist, stopped her momentum, and lowered her to the ground.
"Oh…" The girl smiled, pulled out a notebook, and wrote down her number. She handed it to Allen with a wink. "I'm Luna. Don't hesitate to call me, my hero."
She quickly skated into the building.
A man dressed as a panther landed nearby. Without acknowledging Allen, he entered the building.
"This is a weird place…" said Wolverine beside Allen as he drank a beer, then tossed it in a trash bin and walked away. "I'll be around the mansion more often. The brats are waiting for you…"
Allen stood frozen. Tony had mentioned he'd be hiring heroes more actively—even problematic ones or antiheroes. But he didn't expect it to go this far.
Just as he was about to leave, a man on a motorcycle pulled up. He wore a leather jacket and a skull-printed shirt and carried a machine gun in his hand.
He nodded to Allen and went into the building.
"…." Allen figured he probably shouldn't get involved in whatever he had just witnessed.
Dun-dun… dun-dun…
Allen stopped. He heard a very familiar melody—the kind that made him not want to go to the beach as a kid. It came from a horror movie.
Allen turned around. "Oh hell no, no sharknados—huh?"
He looked down to see a small shark with legs, panting like a dog. It was adorable. The little shark stared at him silently.
"…." Allen pulled out a bag of snacks and offered it. The little shark took them and left—but not before bowing politely in gratitude.
"I better go back where I came from…"
With that, Allen left the Avengers Tower—which might soon have a new name.
