Chapter 253 - The Finality of Gears of War Part 1

After a few days Alexander left for Anvil gate, the Imperial garrison of Hanover secured the town.

Now with the inhabitants within their walls, both lambent and locust were almost eradicated.

As kill teams patrolled the outskirts and inside the town...

Something strange happened.

A Locust was crawling towards a sinkhole.

As if it was the only instinct it had left.

It heard the sounds of his brethren screaming behind as it barely crawled towards a hole with his instincts.

"Look here! A fuckin straggler!" A human voice sounded behind him.

The locust felt the burn beneath his body aching, as scorch marks bellow his waist, taken away his feet.

He heard the footsteps, he now had a fear to this humans, before they were just prey... Now they were the hunters, they weren't supposed to overrun them with sheer numbers....

He felt his body kicked aside. Several guns aimed at him.

"This is my family that died in Jacinto you freak!" Several laser pierced his body, he couldn't scream as his lungs turned to carbon.

He was barely clinging on to a thread as a Portal began to be manifested between the group. It began to slowly appear.

The kill team became alert. As they aimed the manifestation, the squad captain contacted the base commander about the situation.

"This is Kill Team Three-two, we got something wrong here?"

"What is it?" A gruff voice sounded from their comms.

"A strange looking portal came up..."

"What color is that portal?" The commander voice became alert as if there was a tinge of concern in his tone.

"Color...blackish with a tint of purple?" The squad captain relayed what he saw.

"You are to halt the cleansing of the town, and focus on retreating with the civvies... What coming out of that thing... Will kill you worse than a locust."

"But...sir... Aren't we winning?"

"Not with that altitude ya ain't! Rtb and on the double!"

The squad captain looked at his men and nodded.

Because their commander is strict, but upon hearing the color of the portal they saw manifesting can turned that steel nails commander to retreat..

They are not insane to question it.

They rushed back to the garrison, a outpost by imperial standards... This time it was more heavily reinforced, and now there were more strangers in their base than who they know.

The squad captain approached the friendly techpriest that was in charge with the armoury.

After bribing the priest with a toaster he aquire from the hallows, he asked.

"What's with the heavy ordinances? This weapons can tear Hanover several times over!"

"Friend, it is because what you found is what spooked us all. The Black legion is coming. And what we currently have is merely insignificant for what's coming."

The squad captain, noticed his NCO and Higher ranked officers paled as they tried to inform the orbital fleet to rain down whatever they can from orbit.

Most preferably eradicating the town itself in the process.

But all they received is static in the airwaves.

Not even a soul responded in the voxcast and even the psyker choir that was housed in the base paled as they witness something in the sea of souls...

Something horrible is coming to this place, those that were weak minded erupted their brains out and those that had their discipline, struggled and gritted their teeth as they spoke what command feared the most.

"A legion of the taint, encased in black and gold, leading them is the despoiler and his unending number hatred is descending upon Sera! He tainted the season of souls and affected everyone in the fleets!"

Everyone breathed a cold shiver running up their backs.

"Contact the surplus of Sera fleets! We need to kill the taint before the High Lord is aware of their presence! Recall all Baneblade team and Imperial knights to this location!"

"Calling to sera 1st fleet, This is Commander Adrian of the imperial garrison of Hanover, respond immediately!"

All they received from that prolonged silence was a message.

"We believed in a lie? Who is leading us? A man or a demon? Did he truly forsaken the true gods?"

The communication officer now pale as a ghost reported the situation had gotten worse.

"Commander report! Half of The fleets have gone AWOL, and they are firing upon on those that didn't obeyed the orders! Half of the colonies is under fire! The fleets that still operational is trying to prevent the traitors from launching attacks from orbit.">

"Dear lord..." The commander muttered.

"So we are on our own then?"

"Not quite, the psykers told us that this place is the only entry point from their realm... As this is the weakest from the intensive warding our High Lord spoke of."

"How long will the rest of the reinforcements arrive?"

"The closest is at 0400 by tomorrow and 1600 three days later at the earliest provided the lambent and locust is not hindering our march, we are unable to launch the orbital fleets...

"So we make do with what we have? What do we got available in the current vicinity?"

"Here's the list sir."

The commander read what he got.

. 8 Leman Russ punisher

. 1 battalion worth of converted militias of varying experience

. One Shadowblade

. 12 Sentinels

. 3 squad of engineseer

. 5 squads of mortar team

. 7 Earthshaker Artillery

. 6 Hydras anti-aircraft

. 12 bolter emplacements around the base perimeter.

. 9 Chimeras transport

. 1 mine layer

. 5 battalion of Imperial Guardsmen

. 8 retrofitted Silverbacks with volkite lances

Closets reinforcements coming within 4 hours later

6 baneblades

3 imperial knights

2 regiments worth of Imperial Guardsmen.

He sighed as this was all they could muster at the moment.

"Send all the civilians to Anvil gate, especially, the Militias, they are not good to us than being a useless meat shield if we sent them. Have the Chimeras prepped for the evacuation."

" Wouldn't their expertise needed for the fight?"

"No... This mess is ours to clean up... The people of sera have no sin in our failures."

As the evacuation of nonessential personel was being carried out.

The portal now began to opened clearly and the imperials was shocked by the speed these monsters had become.

It opened the skies with fliers that were like daggers in the skies. Giant armoured monsters walked the lands as they marched out in droves. One of the soldiers even saw demons flooding out.

Especially those that were recruited from Cog, they never seen such monsters move in high speeds and their lasguns that would kill any locust or lambent, just deflected by these monster armor.

Making the frontlines lose morale as these giant monsters rushed to the base in quick haste.

Tripping every landmine that was placed.

Slaughtering any people that still manning the bunkers.

The thunderous sounds of Imperial artillery, and screams of men sounded once more. Reminding them of who they truly were.

A broken souls from a war torn galaxy.

But not all the defenders is blessed fully by Alexander gifts

They were the flesh and blood of this planet and their faith and grit is barely keeping a edge...

The Commander approached Anya Stroud and gave her a dataslate that held a recording that transpired here.

"This..."

"Give this to our High Lord... He would know what to do. There's a instruction manual for you to parse, if it is hard."

"Shouldn't you evacuate?" She asked.

"This is our mistake, our sins, we will buy time for your evacuation for Anvil gate... This place may soon be overrun." The commander looked wistfully at the side, that overlooked the direction where the portal was opened. The frontlines is faltering as the inhabitants of the planet faced the pure insanity before them.

Now these fallen traitors now staged a foothold in the town and the imperial guards do what they do best... Until a chaos Imperial knight appeared before them causing chaos.

Attrition for time.

Every body is tossed to the grinder for valuable seconds, And if they can kill a traitor Astartes, that's just a bonus.

And if they hold this Outpost before Alexander completed his objectives, then it is hopeful thinking.

The commander watched as the evacuation Convoy escaped from the rear entrance.

He sighed as he don his hat and went to the tactical center.

He had no intention of leaving, after all, if he did, these monsters will consumed this place for the false gods. And there is nowhere to run. As the orbital fleets is having a slugging match with the corrupted. And another reports of unknown fleets is converging and assisting the traitors.

He can only pray the Son of the Imperium to get the job done.

It took just mere 7 hours...

Just 7 hours that they burst through and killed everyone inside.

7 hours before the command of this harbor town was killed.

The doors of the tactical center blasted apart as several chaos marines rushed in and slaughter the imperials within.

"Surrender and your faith, the lies of the imperium will open your eyes, worm. Give us the communication nodes and we will spare you and your pitiful planet, perhaps we will convert you to our god that favor the strong man like you!" The leader of these monster barked.

The commander watched the screens of the tactical center, it overlooked all the situation outside...

Every soldier was put to the sword, every weapons was destroyed...

He turned around. Looking at the man as he laughed at them.

The traitor marines laugh as they aimed the bolter at the commander head.

"Two words: Fuck you."

"Then die!"

Several bolts pierced the commander body as it exploded, leaving him with just his torso.

His last moments was that he spoke as the last air entered his mouth.

"Where you see a man, I see four of you going to hell!" He grinned he already pressed the trigger, the chaos Astartes noticed his ploy and around them panels of the wall fell off and revealed demo charges of all size. And all ready to blow.

The floor began to glow, infact the entire town began to glow gold, shining and simmering as it began to emit a bright light.

"Retreat-" before the leader of the monsters spoke.

The base and town erupted in a explosion and leaving nothing but a crater in its wake.

But still, something remains... The portal still lingers and it greedily devoured the souls that perish to sustain itself.

And out came the man Alexander had a headache to tell Horus about it.

Abaddon the despoiler, stepped out of the portal, his appearance already tainted the souls that linger as they were devoured by daemons... This time he was accompanied by a clown.

"Wow, what a spectacular entrance... Say the men of yours provided me such entertainment!" The clown giggle and laugh at him.

As Abaddon growl and about to lunged at the clown. Ready to snap the fool with his bare hands if need be.

A chain appeared around his neck. Forcing him to crash into the ground, the clown held his chain.

"Don't bother, you should be glad that we kept you alive puppet, do your part, just like a toy should." The clown face was turned to a frown.

Abaddon had memories in his last moments, how he was freed by his father... His last moments, and now he found himself chained by a monster.

He was chained by the gods... Now he is chained by another..

"And I recalled that you allowed the Alpha legion infiltrated our ranks when we were in fallout...

It was a pain in the ass.. killing all of them. Your sons consequences is your own... I known you as a usurper of the gods... And that's why I was tasked by the First of taking you for a walk, hound." The clown chains dangled around Abaddon neck...

Even the Black Legionaire that followed him said nothing about this moment... As that clown is more than enough to kill them all.

Anya watched as the land behind her envelope a bright light... She grasp the dataslate on what just happened...

She read the instructions that was given to her and she managed to grasp the advanced technology of the Imperium...

"Black legion....black legion..." She muttered as she heard from the comms of the garrison that was spooked and she wanted to know why.

As the information was found... She was slapped with hundreds of books and accounts of the sighting...

But she watched as she read from the start of the foundation.

And the truth of the Imperium that Alexander came from...

At first she thought it was just a joke as she read the unredacted reports...

Fighting monsters that was more dangerous than a locust? Even gods?

But the video didn't lie...

She watched from the start.

The Great crusade. And she realizes that Alexander is way older than he should be.

His name in that realm was Hyde, but here was Tyrus...

But as she read of other galaxies he conquered for the imperium, he always takes a different name...

It scared her.

The fact he was older than the civilization of sera itself.

And he pretended to be a soldier for cog, fighting against the UIR and even the locust, when he could had just steamrolled all of them and people would embrace him for doing so.

The amount of manpower and fleets that flew in the stars was numerous... But why did he pretended to be normal?

She recalled a meeting on his perspective of the ceasefire of cog and UIR.

"Peace without suffering is temporary, with blood, sweat and tears only when you realize the effort we done... Only true peace have been achieve."

She realize that his intentions was to consolidate sera... For the upcoming war.

As she read about the black legion, she beginning to realize why they are feared and spooked the defenders.

It was because they are the followers of the devils and the gods were real and they hate humanity... And the church was meant to protect them from the corruption..

She was a scholar of fact and logic, but knowing what is in that dataslate... It overturned her worldview.

The fact he was nonchalant about Richard Prescott leaving was that he knew cog would collapse... He promised and he kept his word... One operation only.

Alexander is fighting a eternal war against those that sought harm against humanity.

By the time she was through... Her eyes sunken and the people beside her was concern about her.

"Miss...you better sleep... You been reading that thing for two days now." Her companion beside her spoke to her.

"What is the truth.... What is the lie?"

She barely scratch why the imps were scared about the black legion. But she managed to grasp what it is..

A legion consisted of different superhumans that betrayed the imperium, and they followed the gods and want the imperium to burn.

And all those that aligned with Alexander in the process. And what was sent was the start of the invasion.

She sighed as she grabbed the recaff that was handed to her as she sighed.

"Perhaps... I will to speak to Alexander."

As the convoy travelled to Anvil gate, she noticed that every soldier of the imperium is heading opposite direction, to where Hanover is located, even she saw the biggest planes roared overhead as it flew to the distance.

As if the reclamation efforts is halted and they began to deal with the threat.

"Is the black legion that serious?" She thought to herself.

After being rescued by Marcus, she found Alexander with the rescue team.

And as they retreated towards the comfort of familiarity. She spoke to Alexander after she informed him about the fall of Hanover.

"Are you a god sir?" She asked

"What makes you say that?" Alexander spoke.

"I read... The founding of the Imperium..."

"Ah, you thinking that this imperium is akin to my father's one?"

She slowly nodded.

"Look, Anya, we all had our faults... And I try to build something that is better than the last...I had my problems with my brothers.. how they turned to the false gods and whatnot."

"You meant that the primarchs are your brothers?"

"More like Stepbrothers once removed." He laughed.

"Why do you asked about it?" He stroll a while as anya follow after him but as he read the reports, Anya spoke.

"What are your plans on sera?" She asked the very important question.

What was his plans for sera?

He slowed down and pondered as he gave his honest opinion.

"Help it up to its footsteps, kill the Lambent, locust and that black legion, ensure the prosperity of Sera be secured under the Imperial rule."

"Are you going to draft us all to a war beyond the stars?"

He slowly pointed to a field hospital that is filled with the wounded for his answers

"Anya... Look around you, did you see the eagerness of people wanting to follow me?

I see people is tired and sick in this war...

I fought long and hard with the people so that I tried to understand them. I am not a dictator that hide behind a throne, I am one of many that walked through the streets and smile everyday.

I want this madness to end, just as you wanted to. Besides it would be at least 500 years till I think of getting people to follow me."

"Did Marcus know?"

"He knows what is necessary to accomplish his goals. I will keep my promise that I will save his father, not as a scientist but as a son that is looking to save his father, we can make more devastating weapons without his aid, and I want him to retire. Can't have the Groom side of the family gone missing." He laughed.

Any noticed the videos of him recorded in the dataslate and the person before him is different.

The coldness of his image compared to the warmth of his concerns is like a different person.

"So you knew, of our relationship?"

"Anya... He's been thinking about you since Aspho fields. Hell, everyone in delta knows, we just don't tease him about it, And even in the island that we evacuate from Jacinto, he was concern about you, don't tell me that you two walking down at the beach was not a patrol disguise as a date?

It was supposed to be Carlos and Marcus, but somehow he was sick and in the latrine for 5 hours due to bad clam chowder?"

She blushed as he retorted her back.

"I guessing you make a better leader than Prescott."

His last words towards her as the night turn to dawn.

"I'm not better than anyone anya, even Prescott had his moments that earned my respect, I have my faults, but I do whatever I can to make humanity survive. Rest well, Marcus will need someone to coordinate with our group."

Anya slept for a while...

And as she relaxed herself, and headed to the meet up with Marcus, she found herself staring at the advanced technology that sera could had...

Instantaneous radio transmission, crystal clear screens on units need input from command.

She rested at a leather seat of the vehicle as she do what's best for Marcus, she glanced at the operations at the two groups heading to different directions .

One heading to Mercy and another heading to the now imperial controlled Halvo port.

She clenched her hands as she definitely had second thought about the commander.

"Anya? What's wrong?" Marcus noticed her as she was in deep thought.

"Its nothing... Something tells me that there's a new hostile army that is heading from Hanover..

A giant beast of steel rumbled past the former outpost of a cog checkpoint to halvo bay.

Several wreckage of cars were piled up in the highway, evidence of the panic and fear of the people during E-day, they were thoroughly scoured of all components as they crumbled under the threads of the baneblade.

Eleven barrels of hell and each of the turret looked for targets as they rumbled past the derelict countryside of a bygone era.

"Are we there yet?" Baird groaned.

"Can you stop saying that for at least 5 minutes!"

"Ah, little teddy wants his nappies."

"I rather sleep in the forest than spending a night with you in bed!"

"Whoo, baby, Hey, Big Boss, why didn't you sent this beast sooner? Could've won the war against the lambent early?" Cole asked.

"I understand you...but had I sent them out, what would cog think of me?

"A Hero?"

"My innocent little Benjamin... I would be labeled as a war criminal and think of the stupidity of the leadership of sending this to the frontlines as a end all be all. And if I sent it during the lambent wars, sure cog would finish the war with what goal achieve? UIR fear us, and that fear will turn into hatred. Then we would be in deeper trouble."

"Whoa Contact!" The tank slowed to a crawl

A hooded figures stood before them. And the tank barely managed to slow to a crawl.

Alexander popped the hatch and yelled at them.

"Identify yourselves!"

The hooded figure removed their hood and Alexander recognize them.

"This is Private Paduk and Sophia, I wished to speak to the commander of this tank!"

"I am Alexander Tyrus, the leader of the Imperium and why you stopped us!"

"Wait... You are the Scourge of UIR?"

"That....was a long time ago."

"So, You are a Gorasnian?"

"Da, and I never would had thought the man that UIR feared the most is now leading this third faction."

"Climb aboard, I think there's some people would like to meet you. Service ladder is on the right side."

Alexander watched the two figures clambered aboard and entered the tank.

Paduk was surprised to see Baird and Cole greeted him warmly.

And Alexander handed him vodka.

He took a swig and contemplating it."

"Not from Gorasnian style but it would do."

"Can you tell us what happened to the Harbor? We been calling it for weeks now and there's no response."

Paduk sat down in the comms chair as he told what just happened.

He and Sophia joined Halvo bay garrison with the cleanup of the locust and lambent, and the Imperium treated them warmly, as they didn't sent them to die. Just making them comfortable.

It was the past three days, Paduk noticed the men is acting strange and often out of touch.

So he took Sophia disguise as a patrol and the men that followed them out of the base. And stayed at the ruins nearby.

But by morning, the base personel disappeared. They found everything was rushed and tools left behind, and the food in the mess hall was cold to the touch, as if hours gone by... There was not a shot fired as even the guardpost was empty and their service weapon is still not drawn.. there was not even a blood.

The stranded camps nearby didn't even notice them.

So Paduk took over the base while waiting for the investigation to arrive. As he doesn't know the communication codes of the base.

"What the hell just happen? Theseus, can you tell me what happened to these personnel?" Alexander internally spoke. Because some of them is recruited from the system, so in a sense he could know where they been.

Alexander face darkened as the tank entered the dockyards, sure enough, the base structures was still intact, he could recruit more, but the issue was not fixed, then it would be meaningless.

The ships were still there. There was even a Acclamator in the port that still unfinished unloading supply crates.

"This is creepy as fuck man."

"I seen horors compared to this. Paduk... Have your men gathered around and follow me to the Command Center, Cole, Baird, get to the naval office and check the status of each ship.

And Baird, the Master code for overriding the command module is TeddyB3ard

"That master code is childish to me."

"Oi, I am the one that make the code, or should I input it into BairdxSam4ever when I done in this place?"

"Screw you!"

"I enjoy screwing with you, because you are the asshole, now get going and or I really change the code! Come on Paduk, and Sophia onwards to solve the mystery!"

Paduk noticed his friends rushed to the naval office. And Sophia giggles and she walked by him.

"So that man had changed, huh Paduk?"

Paduk recalled he did met Alexander a long time ago... He silently touched the scar at his cheek that Alexander gave him before.

It was during the pendulum wars. During the final months of the war.

He lead his battalion and was supposed to raid a cog research base, with rumors drifting about that they were creating a weapon to kill all weapons..

UIR command specifically sent his soldiers into the base in hopes to sabotage or at least destroy whatever the cog is cooking up.

And their spies reported that there was minimal security guarding the research base.

But what they met was a nightmare.

A man sat on a chair by the entrance, like a security guard.

Paduk ordered his lieutenant to silently kill him. But the moment the man approached him, he fell down, as if strings were cut from his body.

Many of them froze and they grew wary as Paduk order a sniper team to take out the man. But he noticed his weird actions that he brought out a medkit and bandage the fallen man.

The snipers took fire at the target but it didn't even phased him.

"Fuck, how is that possible?! We calculate the correct wind distance..."

Paduk looked at his binoculars and he saw the man holding the bullets that was shot at him.

His face was akin to a demon and in a brief moment, the man vanished before his gaze.

And by the time he was aware, he already reached the snipers and ripped out their spines. Paduk attempted to aimed his gun and he was met by a kick to his stomach, he could feel his organs rattle up.

As he get his bearings, the man before him was standing in a pool of blood made from his men. And Paduk felt his cheek was bleeding.

"I didn't know that UIR still got the balls to send men after me."

"Who are you!"

The man looked coldly.

"I am what the UIR fear the most, I am the Boogeyman... And tell me... Why have you attacked my house?

Paduk, spat his blood as he screamed.

"What do you mean its your house!" He pointed a normal warehouse next to the man.

"I prefer to live in simplicity. Don't tell me... You were sent to die because you were politically expedient?"

Paduk eyes widen as he never thought of that.

The Gorasni never liked being buddy with cog, but with the monster before him, he was tasked to bring a message back to his peers.

It carved a stain to his reputation, but he was the one that found their Boogeyman and lived to tell the tale.

He was grilled on what's his strength and weaknesses... But what he saw... Was out of supernatural realms of speed.

But as the wars almost came to a close he was tasked to Miran Trescu, the son of the leader of Gorasnaya.

Paduk never know what's behind closed doors, but Miran felt like his life was sucked out of his body.

"Is he truly a devil? Even agreements like this?"

It was this moment he staged a coup to send the UIR Hammer of Dawn satellite to space... But he failed miserably..

He was detained current UIR and by the time the lambent came, his hidden benefactors broke him out of jail, he was sent to Miran once more.

This time, He was tasked to evacuate Gorasnaya civilians a week before E-day, and head to the island chains where the Imperium is located.

He question this act, but Miran offered him words that made him somewhat respect to Alexander.

It was a mining rig converted to harvest Imulsion. Miran spoke as he gathered his thoughts.

"You know? When we first held out meeting with the Boogeyman that haunted my father... He was a man that didn't looked like the propaganda posters my dad created. Just a carefree man that enjoy our culture... Especially with pirates hunting. He is a man of complexities...

"Ghost of Babushka..., the Night Demon of the trenches..." These things is quite meaningless if we didn't know that the world before us is collapsing before our very eyes . Makes our tantrum between cog is meaningless...

"What did he said to you, Sir?"

"A new war is on the horizon... From beneath the soil of sera, a new enemy erupted and kill any human that is in their sights, it didn't care what banner we held.. I was told to evacuate without Cog noticing us, leaving several regiments to delay the enemy.

Ironic... That the man that killed our people... Is now the savior of humanity."

Miran watched as his people that lead out of their homelands is now staying in this islands...

He made the right choice... As the lights from the cog hammer of dawn rained down in the distance and they got the spectator view of the insanity. Miran turned to Paduk.

"Paduk, I am sending you and several others to retrained by the imperium and later, inserted to Cog and to relay whatever you can to me and Alexander, it was part of our agreement to assist the Imperiun to retake back out homelands and perhaps a few lands tossed in, since most of the independent countries fled to space.

And he assured that they prefer living in another planet than facing the locust, it's free estate. If we did well, perhaps our names would be across the stars.. a system of habitable planets that we legally claim to lessen our hatred. "

Paduk watched the man before him walked into the command center.

Though he was aware of the technologies Within, he had mixed feelings of seeing these weapons being found in the hands of the imperium.

This things could have ended the war faster.

But somehow, he understood that had Alexander fully gave all the technologies to either side... He knew how Gorasnian treated prisoners... And he is indifferent to it... But seeing weapons that should not exist in this world...

He wondered...

What war of this scale was needed for people like Alexander to exist?

"Alright.... The control is still intact... Okay, recruit the whiteshields and couple of guardsmen... Add a psyker to the mix"

Paduk noticed a presence beneath the building.

He didn't had a clearance code and it was protected bya blast door..

The said door opened and revealed several soldiers that were emotionless and

One of the is draped in holy purity seals and a eye is seen on his forehead.

Paduk though he was a mage or something.

They saluted to Alexander.

"Your orders? Sah?"

"Scourge this base and find what's wrong with this place...

"My Lord, I am detecting a psychic presence nearby...." The blindfolded man spoke.

Alexander face darkened as he ordered the man to lead the source of the disturbance.

A almost transparent rift that appeared near the armoury. Paduk was stunned as he and his men would never noticed it.

Alexander was unaware of it was he was focused on the front he didn't took account that there are other factors in play here.

"I am heading inside, Paduk, guard the entrance while I am gone."

"Are you crazy sir!"

"No, my soldiers needed me. And I will deal whatever inside..." Alexander entered the rift and as Paduk waited. A portal opened and people began to exit it.

A soldier walked out and Paduk recognize him that was in the motor pool, dazed and confused on what just happened.

More and more soldiers walked out from the rift until the base was lively again.

"What's inside that thing?" Paduk asked.

Alexander remained silent and gaze upon the skies as if looking for answers...

"A interloper that managed to capture a entire base worth of personnel to grab my attention. Paduk, inform the base commander that all naval assets is to head to azure..."

Paduk noticed that his face as if he seen something more spooked within.

(Alexander PoV)

As he entered the rift, he found himself floating down into the abyss.

As he go deeper, bright light began to emerge.

He found scores of humans being attached with a tentacles in their nape...

"Damm, did someone make a matrix made of flesh edition?" He muttered.

[Welcome, Abandoned Prince of the Ashen kingdom]

A voice pierced in his mind, bringing him unimaginable pain to his skull.

"Who are you!" He gritted his teeth.

[Just a spectator to your fate.]

"You know I am always open to conversation if you don't take away my men!" He glared in the darkness as he scour the direction of the voice.

[Chances of success is minimal, this would be the optimal results]

"How am I supposed to negotiate if you hide in the shadows?!"

[Very well]

A bright light envelope Alexander and he stood on a cliff and before him was a giant brain encased with futuristic metals strapped around it... All the tentacles that kept his men is linked to the brain.

[Now, do you see me now?]

"What...are you."

[A_GOd *undescribable pain*]

The words pierced Alexander mind considerably.

"Why would a god want with me?"

[A.deal]

"What kind of deal."

[Number.Kill.Sastifaction.Retribution]

"I don't trust you if you held my men lives on the table."

[Insignificant.You.Are.Just.A Tool.]

The giant brain sparkles with electrolytes and color burst forth as it spoke telepathically.

"A tool that can thinks for himself. Let my people go... Or suffer my wrath." Alexander growled as a halo materialized behind him.

[You.Shall.Obey.Me.]

"My God is my father and the protector of humanity not a talking brain that have to use underhanded methods to drag me in...Die."

He tossed a power sword with a force of a nuke at the tentacles that kept his men prisoners.

He was surprised that the sword was just inches away as a telekinetic force stopped it from doing so.

[You.Are_In.My.Realm]

The brain gave a scream as it felt pain.

Alexander noticed something was wrong as there was a splot of black matter on the pink matter of the brain and slowly began to spread... As it began to corrode it, the brain pressure lessen.

"Frak... Isn't that Chaos?" Alexander inwardly thought as he launched another sword and this time he imbued it with his intent to kill the thing.

And this time he succeeded. As the tentacles linking to the brain was severed. It slowly woke up the soldiers that was held prisoner. But he was met with a gravitational pressure that locked him in this place.

They found Alexander and wanted to assist him, he gritted his teeth as he opened a portal.

"Go! To the portal and do it for the Emperor!" The soldiers looked at the being that he is fighting against and nodded as they rushed to the exit.

Now by this time this brain of a god is now fully covered with the taint.

[Y@u_mU$T-Di€]

"I get that a lot, but how about you first!" He slowly stepped up as he walked towards the chaos infused brain.

As each step the gravity amplified several time stronger.

To the point that he was like holding the gravitational force of a red sun.

His flaming blade now within the range of his sword, he stabbed into the brain and it screamed as flames etched across the surface and burning everything apart.

[You.N€ver.Win]
