Jian Dan, still half-asleep early in the morning, was awakened by a knock on the door.
Reluctantly squinting her eyes, Jian Dan got out of bed, opened the door, then leaned on the doorframe and closed her eyes again. "Why so early?"
Having not rested well last night because of Uncle, Jian Dan felt as though she had just fought a battle.
"Didn't we agree to go to Dalian today?" Xiaoxin asked excitedly.
"But it's still dark outside, isn't it?" Jian Dan's eyes remained closed.
"Who says it's still dark? It's been light for a while now." Jian Xiaokai spoke softly.
"Ah?" Jian Dan opened her eyes a sliver, saw that it was indeed daylight, and whined, "Ugh, why does summer daylight have to come so early?"
"Mom, don't you usually love to go out? How come you're reacting this way today?" Qian Lele asked, looking at Jian Dan.
It's all Uncle's fault, not mine! Jian Dan thought to herself.
"Some things are better left unasked!" Kuaikuai continued in her usual cool manner.
