On the day of the departure, Elena visited the temple again with Escora. She has already said her goodbyes to the other giants so only Escora came with her. All the elders were present in the temple and escorted Elena to a different large hall from before.
The Gate of Valhalla was not really located within the city of the giants. Actually it was located in a separate dimension which currently only the giants had access to from this realm. So for Elena to cross the gates, she first needed to go to that separate dimension.
Escora would not be allowed to come there and even among the elders only the head elder Konan would go with Elena. So Escora hugged Elena and bid farewell to her. Elena had already given her a way to contact her, so Escora was not that sad. For a giant like her, even thousands of years was not a long time.
Just like that, through a teleportation formation, Elena and Konan disappeared from the hall and went to the separate dimension.
