Dark clouds gathered, and torrential rain poured down. The entire world seemed engulfed by the storm, with the sea raging and waves towering thousands of feet high, as if the ocean were boiling.
Boom! Thunder roared across the sky.
Endless lightning arcs intertwined, forming the eyes of God-King Zeus on the celestial curtain, looking down upon the turbulent world and the arrogant Sea God Poseidon.
"Poseidon, you are defying the order."
"I, with the authority of the God-King, judge and declare you guilty!"
Boom! Thunder rolled continuously.
Simultaneously, a voice even deeper and more oppressive than the thunder came from the clouds, filled with the boundless anger of God-King Zeus.
"Zeus, you are unfit to be the God-King."
"Your declaration is like a breeze by the sea to me, completely ineffective."
"Olympian gods, who among you will heed the commands of this demon king Zeus?"
In the heavens, the gods shut themselves within their temples, doors tightly closed, as if they hadn't heard Zeus's command or Poseidon's challenge.
"A bunch of unreliable cowards," Zeus cursed inwardly.
He knew these gods were unwilling to get involved in his struggle with the Sea God.
In fact, this was Zeus's own doing. The incidents with Hades and Athena had already served as cautionary tales for the gods. At this moment, they had no desire to be the vanguard.
Poseidon's eyes flashed sharply, his stormy cloak billowing behind him. He said in a deep voice, "Zeus, my brother, I initially planned to storm the heavens and overthrow you from the God-King's throne in front of the gods. But I've changed my mind now."
"I want you to descend to the mortal world, and I will defeat you before the eyes of mortals."
As he spoke, Poseidon seemed to suddenly suffer some kind of blow, his majestic body staggering.
Crackling sounds, like the breaking of crystals, came from deep within the Sea God's body.
Cracks began to appear on Poseidon's forehead, extending outward like lightning or branching tree limbs across his skin.
"Humph, Poseidon, you have violated the divine oath to your godhood and authority. You're all bluster with no substance. What right do you have to overthrow me?"
"Moreover, why should I descend to the mortal realm just because you say so?"
Zeus's voice came from the clouds, his lightning eyes shining brighter.
Poseidon often resided in the mortal realm, while Zeus mainly stayed in Olympus. A battle in the mortal world would give Poseidon some geographic advantage. Moreover, with the current torrential rain covering all realms, the conditions favored Poseidon's power.
Cracks slowly spread over Poseidon's strong body, but he remained unmoved. Amid the chaotic sounds of the storm, waves, and thunder, he spoke in a deep, resonant voice, "Before my godhood shatters, it will be enough to defeat you."
"Zeus, your fraudulent ascension to the throne is now known to all. The countless beings in the Olympian multiverse will no longer be deceived by you."
"Haha, don't think I don't know. Your godhood is also becoming unstable, tending toward shattering."
"If you want the endless waters and seas to stop showing your fraudulent actions, you'll have to kill me to do it!"
Zeus's reign had already displeased many beings. Now, knowing that Zeus had gained his position through deceit, the hatred among the wise beings against Zeus was growing at a terrifying rate.
In the God-King's hall, hearing Poseidon's words, Zeus's face darkened because Poseidon wasn't lying.
The divine light around Zeus flickered, unstable.
His godhood was indeed unstable and trembling.
If the situation continued to spiral out of control without effective management, even if he subdued Poseidon later, Zeus wouldn't be able to remain God-King.
Poseidon, my detestable, damned brother, your godhood is breaking down worse than mine. Do you really think I'll be afraid just because you want to drag me down with you?
Zeus's face turned grim as endless lightning gathered into a tangible spear in his hand.
"Poseidon, since you wish to die, I will grant your wish!"
With a fierce roar, a bolt of lightning tore through space, leaving Olympus and splitting the clouds, storm, and rain, instantly descending to the mortal realm.
Zeus's majestic body, surrounded by endless arcs of lightning, bathed in the storm, appeared like a rising sun of thunder in the somber world.
He stood opposite the Sea God in the stormy world.
Boom! A bolt of lightning illuminated the dark world, lighting up the sky, earth, and sea, and casting light on the faces of the two gods.
On their similar faces was undisguised, substantial enmity toward each other.
Sizzling sounds filled the air as countless bolts of lightning streaked across the sky.
They descended according to the God-King's will, but their target wasn't the Sea God Poseidon. Countless lightning bolts converged on Zeus, crackling as they struck his body.
In the thick thunderlight akin to a sea of lightning.
A layer of silver-white lightning armor gradually formed from Zeus's head to his feet, materializing into an eagle helmet, a lightning cloak, silver-white chest armor, and armguards. The silver-white lightning armor covered Zeus entirely.
In the next instant, the entire world seemed to freeze for a moment. Without any warning, the two gods disappeared from their positions.
Suddenly.
In the space between where the two had stood, two terrifying energy spheres appeared.
A silver-white thunderball and a deep blue waterball clashed. The sea below was compressed into a massive concave area, several million kilometers in diameter, due to the terrifying energy. Countless arcs of electricity and stormy waves intertwined, roared, and rolled.
Inside the energy spheres were Zeus, clad in silver-white armor, and Poseidon, in golden armor.
Crackling sounds echoed as the thunder spear and trident clashed, creating curtain-like afterimages, colliding millions, billions of times per second.
From a distance, mortals watching the battle could barely see the two clashing lights, unable to discern the specific actions of the gods. Even deities could barely keep up with the fight.
In Olympus, the gods watched from their temples, their expressions varied as they observed the battle between Zeus and Poseidon.
Boom! The thunder spear and trident clashed violently.
While their weapons locked, Zeus's left hand formed a thunderball and pressed it toward Poseidon's chest. Poseidon's left hand also rose, wrapped in storm winds capable of tearing mountains apart.
Boom! Heaven and earth shook simultaneously.
A massive shockwave surged, raising thousand-foot-high waves and creating an apocalyptic scene.
The two gods were sent flying back by the immense recoil, like two streaks of gold and silver light.
Poseidon's body crackled with lightning, his golden armor scorched and blackened, as he crashed into the deep sea in the far west.
Zeus, surrounded by cutting winds, with his silver-white armor covered in slash marks, embedded into a high mountain in the far east.
Whoosh! Poseidon's trident floated before him, spinning rapidly.
The ocean swelled as endless seawater gathered behind Poseidon, compressing and condensing repeatedly. Combined with Poseidon's divine power, it formed near-black, incredibly dense water, as heavy as the ocean itself. This dense water shaped into a black, sky-piercing trident, mirroring Poseidon's trident.
As the ocean swelled.
Boom! The mountain in the east exploded from within due to the thunderous force.
Zeus's eagle helmet was shattered and discarded, his golden hair mingling with the lightning.
Raising his thunder spear high, a bolt of lightning shot skyward.
The dark clouds covering the sky suddenly formed a vast array, encompassing the entire world's sky, inscribed with all symbols, runes, and texts representing thunder and lightning, containing the purest power of thunder.
Divine Punishment Thunder!
Both the Sea God and God-King excelled in close combat and long-range divine techniques, with no significant weaknesses. Their combat prowess was formidable; otherwise, they couldn't have led the gods to defeat the Titans in the past.
After gaining control of the multiverse, the gods hadn't engaged in such intense battles.
But that didn't mean they had forgotten how to fight.
The fully committed Sea God and God-King made the sky, earth, and sea tremble, reminding all beings of the terrifying power of deities.
Meanwhile.
At the center of the array, Poseidon felt immense pressure. The thunder hadn't even struck, yet his body already tingled with numbness.
"Die!"
Poseidon roared, hurling the black trident formed from dense water at Zeus.
Boom! A blinding white lightning bolt tore through space, descending instantly.
The lightning moved at incredible speed, and as it fell, the surrounding space seemed to be anchored and sealed. The air turned viscous like glue, asphalt, or cement, making it impossible for even gods to move, forcing them to endure the attack.
Buzz! A black water sphere with a central vacuum rose from Poseidon's body.
Time seemed to slow.
The Divine Punishment Thunder and dense water sphere collided.
A blinding light burst forth, almost blinding the spectators.
Unmatched power surged, sending Poseidon deep into the ocean. The dense water sphere didn't shatter but was covered in cracks.
However, as it sank into the sea, it seemed to be nourished, with the cracks rapidly healing, simultaneously shattering and regenerating.
Seconds later.
Boom! The dense water sphere finally shattered.
The Divine Punishment Thunder struck Poseidon's chest.
Sizzling. Count
less arcs of electricity crawled over Poseidon's body. Just the overflow of power turned the ten-thousand-meter-deep sea into a domain of lightning. Poseidon's divine power was corroded by the thunder, his golden armor charred and near melting, with lightning scars covering his skin, turning it to charcoal.
On the other side.
The sky-piercing trident shattered space, crossing the distance instantly, appearing before Zeus, hovering above the continent.
Zeus's eyes reflected the pitch-black, heavy trident, his pupils contracting.
With a wave of his hand, the dark clouds turned into a shield, mixed with shining lightning, appearing in front of Zeus.
Boom! The sky-piercing trident struck the cloud-lightning shield.
The immense power pushed the shield back, driving Zeus into the ground, tearing through earth and stone like air.
Meanwhile, as the cloud shield shattered, Zeus's entire body crackled with lightning, continuously weakening the trident's power.
Until Zeus fell into the earth's molten core.
Boom! The cloud shield couldn't hold any longer and shattered.
The black trident absorbed the lava, gaining a faint high-temperature glow, tearing through Zeus's protective lightning, breaking the silver-white armor, and piercing his divine body.
In the fierce, white-hot battle.
After landing a heavy blow on each other, the two gods paused their assaults.
But only for a brief two or three seconds.
In the ten-thousand-meter-deep sea, Poseidon's extraordinary divine power surged, gentle water waves spreading over his body. The charred skin peeled away, and Poseidon was revitalized, his eyes opening, gazing through water, rock, and barriers at Zeus.
Simultaneously.
On the other side.
Zeus held the black trident piercing his chest, letting out a low growl.
Sizzling. Silver-white lightning spread, covering the trident, ionizing and melting it. Meanwhile, Zeus's chest wound, filled with silver-white light, rapidly regenerated into new flesh as the light faded.
"Poseidon!"
"Zeus!"
The two gods roared simultaneously.
Boom! Endless lightning burst forth from Zeus, forming a silver-white eagle, with the thunder spear becoming the eagle's talons.
The silver-white eagle soared high.
In a flash of light, it reappeared above the sea.
Screech! A piercing cry shattered the clouds as thousands of lightning bolts and the silver-white eagle descended.
Meanwhile, below, the sea boiled and surged, endlessly flowing into Poseidon's body.
Poseidon also transformed, quickly becoming a deep blue giant shark, with the trident forming its fangs.
Boom! With a reverse tsunami, the deep blue shark broke through the sea.
The silver-white eagle descended from above, the deep blue shark rose from below.
In their swift charge, they clashed almost instantly.
Slash!
The eagle's talons tore through the shark's tough skin, blinding one eye, while the shark's fangs bit off an eagle's talon.
In an instant, the eagle spread its wings, transforming into a radiant thunderball.
Zeus, holding the thunder spear, leapt from the eagle's chest, thrusting the spear at the shark's head.
The shark opened its maw, its body collapsing into dense water. The swirling trident emerged from within.
Clang! The trident and thunder spear clashed, sparks flying.
The world seemed to freeze momentarily, then a terrifying shockwave erupted, shattering the surrounding space like a mirror. Everything—winds, rain, clouds, tsunamis—rolled back and flew apart, except the two towering gods who stood firm.
"Poseidon! How long can you last?"
"Haha, I will witness your godhood shatter completely."
Zeus laughed, seeing Poseidon's body covered in more cracks, his divine light dimming.
Though Zeus's condition was also deteriorating, it was better than Poseidon's.
The more intense the battle, the faster Poseidon's godhood shattered.
Zeus believed Poseidon would fall before him.
Poseidon's usually calm face showed urgency.
"Enough to tear your divine body apart!"
Gritting his teeth, Poseidon replied, seemingly defiant.
Boom! Thunderous momentum erupted continuously.
The trident and thunder spear clashed, as did their fists, elbows, legs, and every part of their bodies, never pausing.
Behind the gods, giant figures formed from endless storms, water, and lightning fought, mirroring their actions.
Time ticked by.
The battle between the God-King and the Sea God grew fiercer, with both suffering more injuries.
Cracks from their shattering godhood spread across their divine bodies, making Poseidon look like a porcelain figure about to break.
But Poseidon persisted.
On the other side, Zeus's light flickered, and cracks slowly spread across his body, weakening his attacks, but he was still better off than Poseidon.
Boom! After another fierce clash.
Poseidon's cracks grew denser, and Zeus's aura weakened slightly.
Zeus's eyes gleamed.
"Poseidon, how much longer can you hold out?"
Poseidon remained silent, seemingly under immense pressure, veins bulging on his forehead.
Minutes later.
The trident deflected the thunder spear, while Poseidon raised his fist to meet Zeus's lightning-covered palm.
Boom! Poseidon's arm was covered in cracks, trembling, as crystalline fragments fell into the sea, turning into endless water.
Seeing this, Zeus's eyes moved, continuing the close combat.
He sensed Poseidon's weakening strength.
If nothing unexpected happened, he would win soon.
Between heaven and earth, the two gods attacked and defended with their weapons, their other arms continuing to strike each other.
Zeus repeatedly forced Poseidon to engage in direct punches.
Boom! Boom! Boom! Each time, Poseidon's arm grew more cracked, like glass about to shatter, his strength waning.
In Olympus, the gods watching the situation sighed softly.
It was clear Poseidon was losing.
Only the "Sun God" remained indifferent, with a faint mocking smile.
"Poseidon, the final blow."
Zeus laughed heartily, unleashing his extraordinary divine power without reservation, generating billions of lightning bolts converging on his left arm.
The lightning-clad divine fist struck toward Poseidon's head.
On the other side, Poseidon's face changed drastically. Reluctantly, he raised his already cracked fist to meet the attack, storm and waves coiling around like serpents.
At this moment.
Time seemed to slow.
Under the gods' watchful eyes, the two fists approached and touched—Zeus's face changed dramatically, his pupils trembling like the gods'.
From Poseidon's seemingly fragile fist came terrifying, overwhelming power.
Immediately, amid the raging storm and lightning, Poseidon's fist, appearing on the verge of breaking, pressed forward, shattering Zeus's lightning fist inch by inch.
Boom! Poseidon's punch shattered Zeus's arm, continuing to strike Zeus's head with unstoppable force.
With this ferocious punch.
Zeus's head tilted, his divine body uncontrollably flying.
After only a few hundred meters, Poseidon appeared above Zeus's flying body like teleportation, stomping down with a wind-and-wave-wrapped foot.
Boom! Zeus's body plummeted.
Poseidon appeared below Zeus, raising his knee, striking Zeus's spine, sending him flying skyward again.
And this was just the beginning.
Circling Zeus's body, Poseidon whirled like a storm, delivering rapid, relentless attacks from all directions, cracking Zeus's body.
"Get out!"
Zeus, barely recovering from Poseidon's continuous assault, opened his eyes, releasing a repulsive thunderball that pushed Poseidon back.
But before Zeus could catch his breath.
The ocean surged upward, enveloping both gods, forming a domain isolated from heaven and earth and the gods' senses.
In the spherical ocean.
Poseidon returned at greater speed, tearing through the repulsive force, breaking into the expanding thunderball, appearing before Zeus.
His face cold, he raised the trident high.
Hiss—the trident pierced through the divine shield and armor, impaling Zeus's heart.
"You..."
Pfft!
Poseidon pushed the trident further, fully penetrating Zeus's body, the two brothers nearly embracing.
"You can't..."
Zeus sensed Poseidon's powerful aura up close, realizing that Poseidon's godhood had never been damaged.
He had pretended to be weak to deliver a fatal blow, catching the gods off guard.
Why?
Swearing by his godhood and authority, violating the oath should have affected him.
Unless he wasn't Poseidon. Zeus's pupils contracted.
A fleeting thought crystallized, giving Zeus a terrifying guess.
The one before him wasn't Poseidon but someone perfectly disguised as him, some unknown entity.
"You're not Poseidon."
"Who are you really?"
The weak voice was lost in the storm's noise, reaching only Poseidon's ears.
In an almost intimate pose, Poseidon leaned close, whispering in Zeus's ear.
"Guess."
"You!"
Zeus, enraged.
Simultaneously.
Boom! A devastating storm and wave erupted from within Zeus, tearing his body apart, reducing it to blood mist.
Whoosh! Poseidon took a deep breath, imitating past God-Kings, swallowing the blood mist that Zeus had become.
Gods are immortal, never truly dying. But Zeus would not revive unless extracted from Poseidon's belly.
The ocean receded, and only Poseidon remained standing.
Gradually, the clouds dispersed.
A ray of sunlight shone down, illuminating Poseidon's majestic, cracked face.
Thus, the battle between the Sea God and the God-King ended with Poseidon's victory and Zeus's fall.
The fourth Olympian God-King was about to be born.
