To be precise, it was a middle-aged man followed by a group of ten or so young women—each of them looking fresh-faced and college-aged.
Some of them smelled heavily of alcohol, stumbling slightly as they walked, not paying attention to where they were going. One of them almost collided with Gu Zi, but fortunately, Su Shen reacted quickly and shielded her, gently guiding her aside.
"Watch where you're going," a girl joked, her voice teasing as she added, "This isn't a bar, you know. You can't just wander around and bump into people like that."
The group erupted in laughter, the sound echoing through the hallway as they continued on, clearly not bothered by the incident.
Gu Zi turned her head to glance back and noticed someone quickly duck out of sight—Tang Xue. What was she doing here? And why was she mingling with these people?
Gu Zi's mind raced as she walked out of the hospital with Su Shen.
