An awkward silence hung in the room after the intense question from Amden.
Richard was about to speak something when someone beat him to it.
"But it is being said that you orchestrated the whole thing to garner sympathy and plot a justifiable reason to make a move against people you don't like," Gary stated this rather forcefully with a tint od disdain in his voice.
Amden did not turn back to look towards Gary. He was now sure that Gary was being openly hostile with him, and he was also sure that his relation with Alexa was not the reason.
Though Richard was also a bit hostile, he could see the reasoning in it. Alexa's mother had directly and openly supported his relation, but Gary was different.
"Rumours are rumours and certainly not a thing to be believed," he said without even turning back. "And the second point you made about me making a move against people I don't like; with enough power everything is justifiable."
