"Amden," as soon as he left the office, Voila's voice echoed in his mind. "What do you think of her proposal?"
She continued, giving no chance for Amden to respond, "It is clear that she is trying to pull you into her camp. She has very fairly evaluated your talents and seems keen that you become part of her forces."
"She knows very well that a person like you can single-handedly turn the tide of any battle, and the struggle which her family is about to face is still a few years away. She knows that you would be a hell of a lot more powerful by that time."
Amden nodded in understanding.
"I know very well what her intentions are," he said. "And I think she is not really trying to hide them. The Vayer family is my enemy, and if I need their help, I would need to do something in return for the Snowfall family."
