The three of them stepped through the rusted gates of the cemetery. Their boots crunching softly over gravel swallowed by time.
Instantly, their bodies tensed, eyes sharp, and senses open.
Even within the borders of a fortified city, they knew better than to lower their guard. Actually, Supernatural creatures had a way of lingering in forgotten places, even those surrounded by civilization. And cemeteries were never truly empty.
Usually, the only entities to exist inside a city were Ghosts. They were created by the lingering souls bound to unkept graves. Their presence tolerated by locals so long as they remained passive.
City folk knew of them and mostly avoided the overgrown parts of the cemetery. It was an unspoken agreement. And the mostly didn't bring any harm. Some even trying to communicate because the Ghosts where resembling their deceased loved ones.
