Chapter 32 - Someone you can Trust

Uriel: He held Michael's sword as he sat near the lake, the once-glorious weapon now seeming dull and devoid of life. He stared into its faded, lifeless metal, the dreams of a future now felt hopeless. He slid his fingers along the blade, tracing the imperfections as if trying to coax some spark of life from it. He longed for Michael's fury to awaken within the sword, to bring it light once more, but the heavy silence of the moment crushed that hope.

Radna: He washed his hands off in the lake, gazing over at Uriel's emotionless face. "You know you are kinda hard to read without a face, do all Archangels not have faces, or is it just you?"

Uriel: He did not look up from the blade, and the failed joke did not bring any kind of reaction. "Michael was the best of us; he was the greatest warrior in all of creation, perfect in every way, yet he fell so easily. All of us did."

Radna: "You cannot blame yourself for what happened to everyone in Heaven Uriel, trust me, guilt is a heavy force."

Uriel: "Thou, Demon, art not in a position to impart thy wisdom on the matter of guilt. Our sacred duty was to safeguard the souls, that hallowed tower, and all that is just and virtuous. Yet, we faltered tragically within moments of his treacherous arrival!"

Radna: He grabbed Uriel by his collar, staring deep into his hood. "Do NOT call me a demon! You have no clue what I am or what I've been through, so don't you dare put those labels on me! It's also rude to assume what someone is based on their appearance." He dropped Uriel to the ground.

Uriel: He stood back up, brushing himself off, "Pray forgive me, but upon perceiving both darkness and light emanating from you, I must lean towards the assumption that you bear the mark of a demon. This judgment arises from the shadowy aspect of your energy, coupled with your resemblance to an oni."

Radna: "People aren't always what they appear. I rejected my darkness long ago, I'm trying to do better."

Uriel: He looked back towards the lake water and Michael's sword. "What do you need me for?"

Radna: "It's not just about what you need; it's about what you're meant to do. Don't you feel the weight of your fallen siblings on your shoulders? Imagine if I told you I know exactly where he'll be. What if I revealed that I know how to help the other archangel gear bind to you? I can guide you through the steps to rebuild Heaven. This is your calling, a chance to honor those who came before you."

Uriel: "Why should I place my trust in thee? To align myself with one who harbors negativity would starkly contradict the very principles we archangels uphold. Why would someone like yourself care to rebuild Heaven?"

Radna: He exhaled, slightly frustrated with all these questions. He sat down by the lake. "Long ago, I was a great enemy of that beast. He crafted me to be a vessel for his essence, a creature without flaws and devoid of a soul. However, after an accident, I was given a soul, and I learned to care for others. Despite my good intentions, people only saw me as the creation of the Black-Eyed Beast. No matter how many lives I saved or how many trusted me, I was always viewed as a monster. I just want to redeem my past and show everyone that I am not the monster he intended me to be. I want to find my family and protect them, just as I promised."

Uriel: He looked down at the lake's water, "So all of that negativity in your body..."

Radna: "Are the pieces of him I couldn't get rid of, yeah." He summoned one of his hooks to his hand, staring at the engraved runes on the metallic exterior. "Some parts of him still prove useful, even if intended for destruction, you can always find a way to provide light in the darkest areas..."

Uriel: He gazed over at the hook, staring at the different runic symbols on it. "What language is that?"

Radna: "Luvakian, it's not native to here, but from the places I've visited, it's incredibly useful." He stared at his weapon, "You know, under this material, are the beast's bones...I obtained them in a different life, it's what I'm going to use to kill him."

Uriel: He rubbed his hand against Michael's sword, "As I will use this to vanquish his evil across all of reality." He stood up, looking over toward Radna, holding out his hand. "I will help you in slaying the beast, to avenge our fallen ones."

Radna: He stood up alongside him, shaking his hand, "For their blood, for their spirits."

Uriel: Suddenly, the archangel around them began to shake, the earth rumbling with it. Glowing orbs flew up from each of them, entering into Uriel's body. Michael's armor bound itself to Uriel's body, his sword lay at his side, the holy power of every other archangel resided and empowered him from within. "What- Why..."

Radna: "Will, the strongest thing in someone's arsenal, is their spirit's will power. Your fallen siblings saw this from beyond and chose you to continue their legacy. Which is good that you discovered that within you this early, because I was not sure how long it was going to take to train you-"

Uriel: He picked up Michael's sword, staring into the glowing white flame, but it was still missing something. "What is your name?"

Radna: He looked Uriel in the face, a small smile formed on his face, "Radna."

Uriel: He got down on one knee, holding the sword out toward Radna, "May you mark our bond upon this blade, Brother Radna."

Radna: He stood the sword, smiling and nodding his head toward Uriel. He cut his palm with the blade, using his blood to mark Luvakian symbols upon the holy steel. He held the sword out toward Uriel, honored that an archangel would trust him with such a thing.

Uriel: He rose back up, gently taking the sword back and sheathing it on his hip. "What is our first course of action, Radna?"

Radna: "There is someone we must find first, the first Golden Guardian. We have to find Star. He is the key to everything."
