Dodging the fist of his pissed off sister, Chibs quickly pulled her into a tight hug that she tried to squirm out of.
"Calm down Koizumi! When I saw Anko's attack, I knew it was an opportunity to awaken your Sharingan further so I took it! Please don't be angry at Anko because of what i did."
Pulling herself away from his hug, Koizumi's brown eyes were tearful and angry. She walked over to her downed and shocked friend before giving her a hand up.
"I'm so sorry Anko for what my brother did, let's go to Yakiniku as an apology and I'll treat you to the cinema." Koizumi said as she gave her awestruck purple haired friend a hug, immensely sorry at trying to kill her in her rage.
"Yeah lets go and I'll pay for i-" "Not you brother! Just me and Anko, you can stay here thinking of an apology" Without wasting time listening to his reply, Koizumi had already dragged Anko out the door of the house.
Letting out a deep sigh, Chiba slight shook his head. He knew what he had done was wrong on many level, but he didn't feel a single ounce of regret as he knew that it was worth it.
'It's the job of a guardian to raise their child to be ready for the world, not to be loved by them.... Even if Koizumi absolutely hates me but she is strong enough to protect herself, than that's fine with me...." Chiba was desperately trying to fool himself into not caring about Koizumi hating him.
For better or worse Chiba saw Koizumi as his real family despite having memories of his past life. He just wanted her to be safe and happy, not just happy. Taking out a pen and paper, Chiba sat down on his couch.
"It's just a simple apology, I can easily do that..."
[3 hours later]
"You imbecile, physical gifts ain't gonna cut it! You need to speak from the heart!" Chiba yelled out.
"I know that! I plan on doing both!" Another Chiba grumbled.
"Your an idiot main body! Shadow clone five is saying that giving her a gift while apologizing, cheapens the apology itself! Apologize first, give gifts later!"
"I know you morons, help write!"
A half dozen Chiba's were sitting in a circle in his back yard, all spitting out idea's as a pile of crumpled up papers laid in the middle.
"While you lot were all yapping, I actually went to work and wrote the perfect apology!" Clone number two said with a smug smile.
"Good work number two!...Maybe you should stick around and be the one to apolo-"
*Poof*
In the place where clone number one stood was just a plum of smoke.
"What about you gu-"
*Poof*
*Poof*
*Poof*
*Poof*
*Poof*
"....."
All of Chiba's shadow clones immediately disappeared and left him alone. Slicking back his hair slightly, Chiba walked to the front door as he slapped his face hard.
"You got this Chiba, just follow the script!" Thought the use of his observation Haki, Chiba saw Koizumi right outside of the door, her emotions in turmoil of different feelings.
As the door opened, Chiba had already began his apology as he suddenly felt himself being wrapped into a hug.
With tears rolling downing her cheek, Chiba saw that Koizumi's multiple emotions had change entirely into relief upon seeing him. Not being able to say his rehearsed script, Chiba spoke what he truly felt.
"I'm sorry....but you understand why I had to do that, right?" Chiba said hopefully
"I know... But if you do that again, I'll never forgive you. I mean it, dont make me think you died!" From her emotions, Chiba knew she was being serious.
"I promise you, I won't die for a third time." Chiba couldn't imagine he'd ever say that sentence in his life.
"Good! I forgive you.... on one condition" Koizumi said with a devious smirk on her tear stricken face.
"...."
--------------
Sitting in his favorite Dango shop, Chiba and Anko were making small talk. It had been a couple of days since the incident where he'd been stabbed in the heart.
"I don't have a formal master who taught me my swordmanship, but I have read multiple sword styles and made my own from their inspiration." Chiba said as he bit into a dango.
"That's impressive! Thay bastard Orochimaru had went to the land of iron and obtained dozens of sword techniques there, he's the one who taught me all of my swordsmanship..." There was melancholy in her words, she absolutely hated Orochimaru for what he'd done, but a small part of her still misses him.
It didnt help Anko that most of her jutsu were snake related, in the anime Anko's abilities were like a worse version of Orochimaru but things were different after learning swordsmanship. She had begun to branch away from her jutsu as it was a constant reminder of her traitorous sensei.
The reason these two were hanging out was because Koizumi had demanded that in exchange for what he had done to both her and Anko, that Chiba had to take Anko out on a date and so he had to comply.
"If you wish, you can join Koizumi and me when we train together, I can give you both advice when sparing and you can go all out against me. I promise this time I won't let you 'kill' me again, sorry about that..." Chiba said akwardly.
"I should be the one apologizing, even if you used it as an opportunity to help yours sister, I was too absorbed in the moment and had landed a deep enough wound that could've killed a normal person." Anko said in shame, wondering what would've happened if it wasn't Chiba that she used the technique on.
"I don't want to boast or sound arrogant but I let that attack hit me on purpose, beside you saw that I could survive that attack. I'm the perfect training partner that you can go all out on, no need to feel guilt or worry." Chiba said before he did a double take at what he saw entering his Haki range.
Two men a few years older than Chiba entered the Dango store, one was wearing an incredibly tight spandex looking material while the other wore regular green shinobi wear.
'Fate works in weird ways' Chiba thought as he saw Asuma and Might Guy walk into the Dango shop. The duo walked over to a seat mid conversation until Asuma laid eyes on Chiba, quickly averting his eyes.
"I would like that! While your sister is very skillfull and I might lose If i don't pay attention, I can't go all out with her as the fight would end very quickly....But besides training...I was wondering if you'd like to hang out next week!" Anko said after summoning her courage.
"I uhh don't...." Feeling the emotions in Anko flip to sadness, Chiba stopped himself. He had already scarred her, he didn't want to hurt her any further.
".....have time next week, but we can hang out the week after!" Chiba said, sensing the sadness within Anko disappear and replaced by happiness and a dash of hope.
"That's great, we can go to the shopping district! I know a store that sells all kinds of music we can listen to!" Being respectful of his blindness, Anko chose to go to a music store.
As she said this, Chiba immediately realized that he had absolutely no hobbies in this world besides training. Part of the reason was that a lot of media in Konoha had 'Will Of The Fire' propaganda in it, the other part was that he never had the free time so this actually excited Chiba.
"That sounds great, remember we train everyday from 6-8 in the mornings and would l-" "Excuse me friendo, may I have a moment of your time." Cutting Chiba off was the spandex wearing Green Beast of Konoha, Might Guy!
Chiba looked over at Might Guy, then to Asuma who once again looked away as he lowered his head.
"You see, for over four years now my squadmates and close friend, Asuma Sarutobi, trained every day with me to the point of collapse for the sole reason of defeating you." Explained Guy as Chiba immediately understood what was happening.
'Asuma worked out till collapsing everyday just to beat me, but why is Might Guy explaining this to me? Unless... Is Asuma too afraid to ask me to fight? I feared this might happened when I taught him that lesson about respect years ago.'
Standing up, Chiba put his hands on Might guy's shoulder.
"I understand. 8:00pm at the training ground we originally fought at, we'll have our Rematch!"
