Chapter 533 - Chapter 533: Transformation Trap

The unfortunate Onyxia, this somewhat arrogant black dragon matriarch, had no idea that the man before her possessed an unshakable willpower beyond her ability to manipulate at will.

Or rather, she could only influence certain emotions within him, but she could not make him completely obey her commands. In the end, all she managed to do was increase his desire for her.

Perhaps this was another case of "taking the sugar coating and throwing back the cannonball."

Faced with Onyxia's question, Alaric simply smiled and shook his head.

"You... still don't know how you exposed yourself?" Alaric said casually, making things up as he went. "Very well, let me make it clear for you.

In fact, the moment you introduced yourself as Katrana Prestor, the daughter of Lord Prestor, I immediately knew who you were."

Seeing Katrana's still confused expression, Alaric continued.

"The Prestor family—this must be the Black Dragonflight's attempt to infiltrate human society, right? Using draconic minions disguised as servants while you yourself pose as nobility. Quite the clever idea...

But while this disguise allowed you to exert the greatest possible influence over human governance, it also created the greatest flaw—once exposed, everything falls apart."

"So, you've been watching the Prestor family all along?" Katrana's voice carried deep unease.

Could it be that all this time, their Black Dragon machinations had been nothing more than a ridiculous farce in the eyes of others?

However, Alaric's next words brought her a sense of relief.

"Not 'you all,'" the mage waggled a finger. "Just 'you.' The truth is, your kind has always been well-disguised, rarely using power beyond mortal comprehension on a large scale.

But honestly, your methods during the formation of the Lordaeron Alliance were so clumsy that I caught onto them right away."

Of course, this was still pure fabrication. Alaric had long since seen through the Prestor family's true identity, but he deliberately wove a more convoluted tale.

Judging by Katrana's expression, she fully believed his nonsense.

She found it completely plausible that only Alaric had uncovered the Prestor family's truth.

After all, if the entire Alliance or the other dragonflights had known about this, they wouldn't have remained silent and continued acting as if nothing had changed.

That would be impossible—after all, where there are many people, mistakes are bound to happen.

But according to her intelligence sources within the Alliance and the dragonflights, there had been no unusual activity.

That was why she refused to believe that the Prestor family's identity had been exposed.

However, if it was just this one mage who had uncovered the truth, then everything made sense.

A look of realization dawned on her face as she proceeded to her next question.

"Then, what is your objective in coming here?"

"Can't you tell?" Alaric chuckled. "Or are you still deceiving yourself?

Our goal, of course, is to stop you and your father's schemes—and perhaps save those poor, unfortunate red dragons along the way."

"...So, you really do know everything?" Katrana exhaled heavily.

She had now asked all the questions she was most desperate to have answered.

Since there was no longer any point in keeping up the act, she decided to drop the pretense. Any further information she wanted could be extracted from the mage in front of her—once she captured him.

A furious laugh erupted from her lips.

"Hahaha! Do you truly believe that mere mortals can stop the plans of the Black Dragonflight? How utterly foolish."

Her once enchanting expression turned cold in an instant. "Now, allow me, Onyxia, to put an end to your unrealistic fantasies."

"Save your breath, little dragon." Alaric responded to Onyxia's arrogance with a mocking sneer. "If the one standing before me was Neltharion, I would have turned and left without hesitation. But you… heh."

Though Alaric left his sentence unfinished, the disdain in his chuckle was unmistakable—even Onyxia understood it completely.

This condescending attitude ignited the fury of the proud black dragon princess.

A mere mortal dared to mock a black dragon?

Did he have a death wish?

Even Alaric's companions couldn't help but sweat nervously at his provocation.

"Do you realize who stands before you? I am the daughter of Deathwing!" Onyxia roared in anger. "You will pay for your insolence, mortal!"

The next moment, the noblewoman before them began to change.

Her body swelled, great black wings sprouted from her back, growing ever larger. A long, scale-covered tail emerged behind her.

Her eyes turned from humanlike to golden slitted pupils, while black dragon scales grew over her body, replacing her noble attire.

As her body expanded, she seemed poised to transform from a frail human into a mighty, towering, colossa—

But she didn't.

To Onyxia's shock, her transformation was suppressed. Her body refused to grow further, as if some invisible barrier was restricting her. She tried multiple times, but every attempt ended in failure.

In the end, she had no choice but to abandon her transformation, remaining in her human-sized form.

However, she no longer resembled the noblewoman she had been moments before.

Her face was still as alluring as ever, but now, she was a fusion of human and dragon.

She was completely unclothed, though her dragon scales acted as both clothing and armor, covering all essential areas while accentuating her curvaceous form.

Her wings and long tail further emphasized her draconic nature.

At this moment, Onyxia gazed at Alaric with eyes full of shock, completely losing the composure that a dragon should have when facing a mere mortal.

"What… what did you do to me?"

"Did you really think that, after learning of your identity as the black dragon princess, I wouldn't make any preparations?"

Hearing Onyxia's rather naive question, Alaric couldn't help but chuckle. "Do you think I entertained your little act, held you in my arms, comforted you, all for nothing?

How else was I supposed to cast a positional magic spell directly onto you?"

"You… you mean…"

The revelation struck Onyxia with even greater panic.

"Your dragonkind's ultimate transformation spell is indeed flawless. But there is no such thing as perfect magic," Alaric's words cut through Onyxia's illusions like a dagger.

"The reason your transformation is seamless is simple—it does not involve any deception. You don't just take on the form of another creature; you actually become that creature.

If one truly becomes something else, then of course, there are no flaws to detect.

However, because it is a true transformation, your strength is fully dictated by the body you take. In other words, right now, you are nothing more than a mere mortal."
