Zheng Haoyu opportunistically turned his head and smiled at her, just in time to see her staring intently at him. A big smile spread over his face. Su Nian's facial expression froze, had she unconsciously been smiling from ear to ear?
Her gaze drifted to Zheng Haoyu's shoulder. Given the deftness with which he was maneuvering the kite's string, his wound from the stabbing was probably healed by now. Unconsciously, Su Nian's expression revealed a hint of pity. Her right hand clenched in a fist was shaking slightly. How could she have been so cruel to stab him back then?
Shortly after, she took the reins of the soaring kite from Zheng and gloated, "Look, it's flying!"
Su Nian chuckled and nodded as she took the string reel from his hand. She playfully tugged at it – the phoenix kite was wobbling in mid-air, swaying with the breeze one moment and ascending the next, much resembling a fledgling phoenix learning to fly.
