"Truly? You can use the oil for that kind of thing?"
"Of course, Your Highness. Fire is the source of life, after all. Without fire, we would be dead by now."
I nod my head and listen to one of the Alchemists who come here to serve me. His name is Duran, and he is one of the Wisdom whom we recruit after he and his group get kicked out of King's Landing after they reject the demand from the Royal Family.
I learn a lot of things from them. The Alchemists' Guild does not only dwell in fire-related things. Among them, they are the ones who create cheap and reliable fertilizer that helps the growth of plants.
Hell, that is the reason why they are running away from King's Landing before Jaqen finds them using one of the many underground escape routes of King's Landing.
The Queen wants them to focus on creating fertilizer that can match our food production. Duran and his people do not agree to it, and the Queen does not take it kindly. She orders the Gold Cloaks to surround the Guild Hallway so they cannot escape, and they hear her talking with someone about their execution.
Duran and his people manage to escape, and that is when Jaqen finds them.
"Fascinating. How much oil do you need to make the wood into a water repellent wood?"
"That is the downside of the oil, Your Highness. It requires three or more layers of oil before a piece of wood can be waterproof."
"That means we need a lot of oil to coat the entire ship, huh?"
"That's right. However, instead of using this oil for a ship, I think we should use another formula. In fact, that is the reason why I came here. It is an idea we have had for a long time, but never put into practice."
"Oh? Tell me."
Duran nods his head and takes out a waterskin.
"Inside this waterskin is what I call a Water Blocker Paint that is stronger than the oil. We can soak an old rope in the oil to absorb its water repellent property and fill the gap between the woods. However, after filling the gap, we can paint the whole ship using this paint to give extra protection against water. The oil is thin, and we need a lot of it to paint the entire ship, but with this, we only need a third of the amount of oil for a ship."
"That is perfect. What is the main ingredient for that? I want to order a lot of it for our ships."
"The main ingredient is Oak Resin, Your Highness. With a combination of other materials, we can make the paint that offers great protection against water and also smells good."
"Oak Resin, huh? That is easy enough."
That is good because I have a lot of Oak Saplings in the Minecraft world. I can create a massive farm full of Oak Trees and let them harvest the resin.
In fact, I have a perfect place for the farm. I want to open a village and put the farm there, and fulfill the promise of giving the worker building the city a piece of land and more work. That is throwing one stone and killing two stones.
They will be the biggest producer of wood and resin in the entire world.
Wood is still one of the biggest industries in the world. However, unlike on Earth, it is not because of paper but rather construction. Construction includes houses, ships, and even castles.
And oak is a good wood to have in all of those.
"I shall give you a farm full of Oak Trees. You can use them for the resin, and in return, I need you and your people to make a lot of these Water Blocker Paints."
"That is an easy order to fulfill, Your Highness."
"Good, because I also have one more thing. Can you make or even improve the Wildfire?"
He blinks for a second at my request and says.
"Can I ask the reason why?"
"Hmmm… Rather than say something, I will show you."
I take a deep breath and shout.
"Alduin!"
I wait a minute before seeing a massive shadow in the sky. I smile a little when I see my child fly around the palace for a second before landing in front of me. I look to the side to see Melisandre and say.
"Do you want to come, Melisandre? I want to let Duran see the Great Enemy."
"Of course, my lord. I want to see them burn when you are done with them."
I climb on Alduin and look at Duran.
"Come on. I will show you the reason why I want Wildfire and ask you to improve it."
Melisandre and Duran climb Alduin, and the three of us fly to the North. It is time to show him what kind of creatures we are fighting against.
===||===
"This is the White Walker."
"RAGHRH!"
I look at the screaming zombie on the ground with a frown on my face. It takes us a few minutes to hunt one down, and it needs us to go further north to find one. Lucky for us, it did not take long for Alduin to catch one of them and break its legs.
"I thought they were a myth."
"Nope. They are the reason why I need your help. The White Walker is weak against fire, and magical fire is lethal to them. Other than fire, they are also weak against Dragonglass, the metal that is known to be made of cold fire."
"I see. You want to see if Wildfire can kill them."
"No. We already know it can kill the White Walkers. What we want is a controllable wildfire. At least you can control them enough not to hurt the others when we fight those things."
"Hmmmm… Controllable is unlikely, but I can create them so they are small enough not to engulf the others."
"If you can manage that, that will be appreciated."
"I need to test it first, Your Highness. However, I think I can do it."
I nod and give him a grin.
"Great! I shall give you a personal lab."
I offer him a hand and continue.
"So? Will you join us in saving the world, Duran?"
He grins excitedly, grabs my hand, and says.
"Of course, my lord!"
