As for how to break the ice… Song Tan suddenly changed the tone of the conversation and pointed to a lush green hillside ahead:
"Want some radish?"
Yu Yan blurted out, "Sure!"
But Song Tan glanced at her regretfully, "Nope, you all came here to work off some food. You can't eat anymore."
Still, after saying that, she squatted down and reached out to pull up a radish.
The green radish was quite sizable, weighing about two or three pounds. Song Tan grabbed it and, with a crisp "crack," twisted off its leafy top. She then softly called out:
"Which Baobao is here today?"
Before her words had even finished, a low bark echoed from the bottom of the hill, as if responding to her.
Then, a sleek Mastiff came rushing over, leaping and bounding like a cheetah chasing prey on the savanna!
"Sibao!"
Song Tan responded with a grin, then waited for it to approach before handing over the radish leaves in her hand:
"Here, it's for you—have at it."
