The stench of scorched hide still clung to the air.
Rudra stood above the carcass of yet another slain beast, steam rising from its bisected form. But there was no satisfaction on his face—only an annoyed frown.
He rolled his shoulders once, cracked his neck, and looked at the glowing embers scattered from his latest kill.
Nothing.
No flash of experience notifications, no increase in his status. The system remained dead quiet.
"Peak of the Ki Surging Realm, was it? I guess killing these weaklings isn't going to help anymore," Rudra muttered.
His voice sounded dry, even to himself. "Slaying beasts isn't enough anymore. I need something else… Another way to get stronger."
He was in a bit of a rush because of multiple reasons.
He wanted to hurry up and finish this challenge that Agni Igris had given him, which was already done.
And he knew.
He knew that Iris was out there in this same place, chasing him.
