During the banquet, Yan Qing changed his usual disapproval of Xiao Zhen, pulled him aside to drink, and talked without mentioning Ling Hua. He didn't stab Xiao Zhen's heart with words of "my wife," nor did he anger Xiao Zhen into a foul mood. Instead, he acted brotherly, frequently raising his glass, chatting pleasantly, and drinking cheerfully with him.
Even though Xiao Zhen didn't quite approve of Yan Qing, he couldn't quite resist his smiling face, chatting and drinking with him. It was as if the person who confronted him with a stern demeanor when Ling Hua was injured wasn't him, and the person with whom he couldn't exchange a meaningful sentence in front of Ling Hua today wasn't him either.
