Chapter 2 - No Cliffhanger This Time, Maybe.

Nothing.

Father Vince felt nothing-no—no pain, no struggle—just blissful emptiness.

Finally. Rest. Peace. A well-deserved death.

Or so he thought—

"You are not dead, human."

SMACK.

Vince hit the ground face-first, groaning loudly.

"God—fucking—damn it!"

His eyes snapped open, and sure enough—towering over him like some divine nuisance, was Noctis.

The god's expression was neutral, flat, completely unimpressed—one hand casually holding Vivi at arm's length, as though the thrashing, snarling undead woman were nothing more than a mildly annoying cat.

"You can try," Noctis said, tone dry as sandpaper, "but I'm afraid you're too small for me."

To anyone else, it might have sounded mocking.

Vince knew better.

This bastard was dead serious.

"Shut it, Noctis." Vince snapped, sitting up with an aching sigh, before his gaze flickered toward the undead mess still flailing in Noctis's grip.

"Okay, why the hell is that thing here?"

Noctis tilted his head, examining Vivi as if inspecting bad produce, his gaze thoughtful, detached.

"It seems my brother, the God of Life, decided it was time to summon a new hero—since you retired."

Vince rolled his eyes so hard he nearly saw the back of his skull, but said nothing.

The gods. Always screwing things up.

"But…" Noctis continued, his voice as infuriatingly calm as ever, "we miscalculated."

"Your world—or rather, your future—no longer exists."

Vince stiffened.

"What?"

Noctis didn't even blink.

"Every human on Earth is already dead. And turned into one of these creatures."

Silence.

A long, heavy silence.

Vince felt his stomach sink into an abyss, dread spreading through his limbs like ice water.

"…You're telling me Earth is in a zombie apocalypse?"

Noctis nodded, effortlessly holding Vivi back as she snarled at Vince like he owed her money.

"Yes. And this—" he tilted his chin toward the furious undead bride, "is one of them."

Vince slowly dragged a hand down his face, exhaling sharply.

"Haaah… Gods, if you can hear me."

A pause.

Then, deadpan—

"Fuck you."

"Gladly," Noctis mused, tone flat, indifferent, "but I doubt you'd be comfortable doing it in front of this undead."

Without hesitation, he casually started removing his robe—until Father Vince, still on the ground, kicked his shin. Hard.

The god didn't even blink.

Didn't even acknowledge the attack.

It was like kicking a mountain.

"Shut it, you horny bastard!" Vince grumbled, dragging himself up with an exhausted sigh before motioning to Vivi with a tired hand.

"So. What do we do with this one?"

Noctis hummed lazily, unbothered, like he had all the time in the universe—because, well, he did.

"Bring back her consciousness."

With zero effort, Noctis placed Vivi down, then grabbed her head with one hand—his absurdly large palm effortlessly engulfing her entire skull like a stress ball.

Vince blinked. Twice.

"You can do that?"

Noctis, without so much as glancing at him, replied in the same tone one might use to discuss the weather:

"I am the God of Nothingness."

A pause.

A slow, calm breath.

Then, with absolute certainty—

"As long as there's nothing… I can do it."

Noctis's body exhaled darkness.

Thick, inky smoke seeped from his skin, curling like living shadows, creeping toward the thrashing woman.

Vivi barely acknowledged it, too focused—too hungry—on sinking her teeth into human flesh.

Then—the smoke solidified.

Without warning, it stabbed into both sides of her skull.

She shrieked—a raw, unnatural scream, torn from her undead throat, reverberating in the air like something trapped between agony and oblivion.

Because the God of Nothingness did not wound.

Did not kill.

Nothing happened.

And that was far worse.

It felt painful.

It felt terrifying.

And yet, at the same time—it felt like nothing at all.

"A-aack! Argh!"

Vivi's clawed hands scraped against Noctis's forearm, desperate, frenzied, but his skin was impossibly smooth, impossibly solid—unyielding, untouchable.

Her nails couldn't sink into him.

"N...nnhaaah....grrrhh..."

The black spears drilled deeper into her skull, twisting, invading—until suddenly—

They stopped.

Vivi screamed.

A cry so raw, so guttural, that it felt like it wasn't meant for living ears.

Then—the smoke pulled away.

Her body collapsed into Noctis's arms, her once empty, dead eyes flickering—slowly regaining light—her chest rising and falling in unnatural, rhythmic motion.

Abruptly, she wrenched herself away, falling to her knees—her whole form convulsing.

Then—she vomited.

A massive surge of black blood spilled from her mouth, staining the ground beneath her.

"Cough! Cough!"

She continued to retch, over and over, until—finally—the blood shifted.

Black turned to red.

She stilled, body trembling.

"W-what… what the hell happened…?"

Vivi's voice was hoarse, raw, like she hadn't used it in ages.

She inhaled deeply—then froze.

Her hands flew to her throat, fingers pressing against her skin as she took another breath—then another.

Panicked, frantic, disbelieving.

"I-I'm breathing…? I'm still fucking alive?"

Her gaze darted down, scanning her body with wild urgency, her fingers tracing over an old bite mark on her forearm, the skin scarred but intact.

Her breathing hitched, chest rising and falling like she was expecting it to stop at any second.

She snapped her head up, eyes wild, sharp, locked onto Noctis and Father Vince.

"W-who the hell are you?! Wait—where the fuck am I?!"

Father Vince cleared his throat, straightening under her sharp, borderline feral stare.

"We're in a country called Mell. You are… in another world."

Silence.

A long, suffocating silence.

Then—Vivi squinted at Vince.

Hard.

She tilted her head, expression twisting from confusion to outright disbelief—then, finally, to pure, unfiltered, unapologetic irritation.

"Huh? Are you fucking high, old man?"

Vince choked on air, eyes widening at the sharp, sudden shift in her tone.

He had not expected that 180 turn.

"I-I'm sorry?"

"I said—are you high?! Another world?! Stop fucking around! Is this a safe zone? Did the government already find the damn cure?!"

Vivi pushed herself to her feet, her movements fast, sharp, restless, her expression souring like she was beyond fed up.

Vince let out a long sigh, rubbing his temples. Maybe he had misjudged her—blinded by the blood-stained wedding dress and tragic beauty.

"Look to your left. You'll see this world's god."

Vivi, still fuming, barely spared Vince a glance before turning her head—

Only to be met with perfectly sculpted abs.

She blinked.

Once.

Twice.

Then, before her brain could catch up—

"Damn, you could grate cheese on that."

Noctis remained utterly unfazed.

"Thank you," he said flatly, "but my face is up here."

Without hesitation, he grabbed Vivi's chin and tilted it up.

His large finger traced Vivi's jaw in a soft, teasing caress, his voice lowering to a husky, purring tone. "Such a beauty, but what a clever mouth you have. It makes me wonder what that pretty mouth can do."

Father Vince's eyebrow twitched, clearly fed up. "Stop that, you horny god," he chided.

Vivi stared at Noctis's handsome face before she finally snapped out of her daze, realizing something else about the divine being. "Damn, he's huge!"

Noctis smirked slightly, his grip on Vivi's chin tightening. "I'm glad you noticed, mortal. Unlike humans, I have... assets that far exceed what a human male can offer. And they're more than capable of satisfying you..."

Father Vince cut Noctis off with a sharp tone. "She means your height, you dunce. Not your dick size!" The priest sighed heavily. "He's kinda 7'6, something that's not exactly human. He's a god."

"God of Nothingness, to be precise. But do call me Noctis—it's less of a mouthful."

Noctis bent down at the waist, his piercing gaze locking onto Vivi's face.

"Hmm. You seem okay now. You're still undead, but you've regained control of your soul."

His large fingers tapped her cheek lightly, testing, observing.

"You are half-immortal now."

Father Vince raised an eyebrow in confusion, hesitating before activating his Appraisal skill on Vivi again.

Name: Vivienne "Vivi" Vale

Age: 26

Occupation: Undead from another world.

"Ah, you right. It said Undead now than Zombie."

"H-huh? What are you guys talking about?"

Vivi looked around, confusion flickering in her eyes as she tried to see what the two men were seeing—but couldn't.

Noctis crossed his muscular arms over his chest, staring down at Vivi with his usual calm indifference.

"Girl, mind telling us what happened to your world?"

Vivi stayed silent for a moment, then sighed.

"It happened five years ago. Around 2025…"

She hesitated, eyes distant, recalling the memory.

"I remember it was my wedding day. I was waiting for my soon-to-be husband to arrive."

She paused, then added—

"I was reading a novel called Crimson Revenge to pass the time—"

"Damn, that shit book is still ongoing?" Vince cut in, completely unfazed.

Vivi whipped around, attempting to punch the priest, but Vince easily dodged to the side, smirking.

"Shut up! Crimson Revenge is a good novel!" Vivi snapped.

"Yeah, a good novel for shitty toxic storylines!" Vince argued back.

"It's not! It's a pure, romantic story!" Vivi insisted, glaring.

Vince folded his arms, shaking his head.

"Lyan is a lying, annoying bitch! She was supposed to die instead of our glorious Prince Mika!"

Vivi flinched.

"I-I mean… yeah, Mika's death was sad… but Louis and Lyan were supposed to—"

Vince cut her off sharply.

"He was beheaded by his own father because of Lyan's stupid prophecy!!"

Vince threw his arms up in frustration.

"Well, it is true," Noctis added casually, his tone completely detached.

"The Holy Maiden's prophecy about Verhault's third prince was actually made because she was jealous of Mika's closeness to Arthur."

"Right!" Vince agreed immediately—then he and Vivi both turned to Noctis, eyes narrowed in confusion.

"What?"

Noctis blinked lazily, tilting his head.

"Oh, you didn't know? Prince Mika actually exists here—in another country."

A pause.

"If I remember correctly, my brother, the God of Death, was crying about Mika. Saying the prince finally decided to change his own fate—now he's working with Louis."

Noctis shrugged.

"In three days, he'll be crowned prince because my sister sent the maiden a 'correct' prophecy."

Vivi and Vince grabbed each other's hands, eyes gleaming with pure joy.

"FUCK YES!! TAKE THAT, YOU STUPID MAIDEN!"

Noctis watched them in amusement.

'They switch sides really quick.'

Vivi sniffled dramatically, wiping away imaginary tears.

"You know, a world where Prince Mika is happy isn't too bad."

Vince sighed.

"No, it's not. But this world is still shit."

He cleared his throat, composing himself.

"But hey, at least the king isn't too bad."

Vivi chuckled softly—until something hit her.

"Wait! We were talking about what happened to me—NOT promoting another book!"

Her eyes flashed as she turned toward the invisible author.

"Fuck off, you selfish author!"

…Well, damn.

I was just trying to explain the connection between books.

…Okay, I wrote mpreg with Vince.

"Wait, the hell did I do?!"

Just kidding. Go on, continue. Also, Noctis—the twins are eating your pudding.

Noctis nodded approvingly.

"Good. They need to eat more."

Why can't I have good brothers?

Vivi huffed, snapping back to reality.

"ANYWAY—what actually happened was that a man got bitten by a radioactive spider."

She cut off the author without hesitation.

"Isn't that just the plot of Spider Hero?" Vince deadpanned.

"A radioactive rabbit."

A long pause.

Vince narrowed his eyes.

"...You don't actually know how the virus started, do you?"

Vivi swung a fist at Vince—again—only for him to dodge and slap her on the back of the head.

"Ow!!" Vivi glared, rubbing the spot before eyeing Vince warily as he raised his hand again.

She quickly looked away.

"I turned into a zombie in the first wave, okay?! I didn't even have time to figure out what happened!"

Vivi huffed, arms crossed, frustration etched all over her face. Of course she didn't know—she got infected on DAY ONE.

Noctis let out a low hum, completely unfazed.

"Actually, it was mushrooms."

Vince and Vivi blinked.

Noctis continued, entirely too casual.

"It started when a group of college students found weird mushrooms around Chernobyl, ate them, and got infected by a radioactive virus."

Silence.

Then—Noctis chuckled, clearly amused.

"Fufu, humans really do eat anything they find, huh?"

Vince sighed heavily, rubbing his temples.

"Damn it."

Now, he felt lucky to have been isekai'd. At least he didn't have to deal with humanity's nonsense anymore.

Vivi inhaled deeply, face darkening with realization, before she finally let loose:

"Future generations are—"

She threw her hands up.

"FREAKING STUPID!!"
