(Genryujin's POV)
"Hello, Gen." Yoruichi said as I walked up to her
I nodded at her, "Yoruichi."
We were in the corner of the quiet streets of Karakura, in the middle of the night. The night sky above was covered in rain clouds and there was a bit of lightning and thunder. It would rain in a bit and this woman was aware of that.
She lifted her umbrella up as she gave me a slight smile, "You came." she said, "After all these years, you finally came back here. I heard your Gramps forbade you, as usual."
I tilted my head, "Yea." I said, "But I'm here. I wouldn't have been here if it weren't for you guys' message to Retsu."
She chuckled, "It was her that began to do a little investigation after Captain Shiba stuck his nose out here for a bit." She said, "Anyways, yea, I guess you'd be mad that we didn't tell you. It was Kisuke's idea to keep it quiet for now."
"I chewed his ear out already." I said seriously, "But you, I never expected you of all people to keep this from me."
She turned around and looked across the street, her nice figure being outlined by the black dress she wore. Despite all this, I still couldn't help be mesmerized by this woman's body. But I had to focus on the actual matter at hand.
I noticed that she was looking at the building across the street, a single clinic building that happen to have the lights inside on. It looked like a Night Clinic that was still open at this hour.
"All of our little flings, Gen." She said, "I knew. I knew that they don't mean much to you. You have your Wives, Soi Fon included. You love them, not me."
I raised an eyebrow, "We're friends, Yoruichi." I said, "I care about you as much as I do Kisuke."
She looked back at me, "Being friends with you doesn't mean much with me when you and I always have sex." She said with truth to her words, "But oh well, none of that matters."
"If you had something to tell me before the incident that brought you here, you should've said something." I told her, "We could've worked something out, I always do."
"Hm." She said, "It doesn't matter, Gen. Not now. I've.....moved on, so to speak."
I nodded, "I understand." I said, "How's life as a Human here?"
"Boring and quiet." She answered, "Has to be like that when all the Hollows are taken care of by Shiba and Hitsugaya's Squads. And then there's...them..."
She nodded in front of us.
I looked past her and saw a man walking in front of a woman and a small boy, I recognized him instantly.
It was the Quincy, Ryuken. The young man I met years ago when the Hollow incident with Masaki happened.
I didn't say anything, merely watched.
Ryuken stopped and looked up at the sky, "Man...." He said as he looked back at them, "I didn't realize it was this late...and it's going to rain, did you bring the umbrella, Katagiri?"
The woman smiled and raised the umbrella, "Yes, my dear." She said as she held the small boy close to her, "Stay close Uryu."
"It's gonna rain, mother?" the boy said
So this was Ryuken and his wife and son, I assume. I recognized that they were all Quincies, almost immediately. I think I may have caught a glimpse of the woman at one point back then. She must've been a maid from the Ishida Family.
Ryuken nodded, "Yes, let's go...." He said, "Wait, where's Masaki?"
They all turned back to see the doors of the clinic open and a young woman walked out. She had brown hair and brown eyes, and she was wearing a casual white dress. She held the hand of a small girl.
I recognized her as well.
I widened my eyes, "M-Masa-" I started before Yoruichi cut me off
"Shh." She said quietly
I held my tongue, merely looking at the group of Quincies ahead of us.
Ryuken looked at Masaki, "What did the doctor say, Masaki?" He asked her, "Is she going to be alright?"
Masaki nodded and smiled, "Yes." she said, "It's just a fever, the medicine is working and she can walk by herself, right honey?"
She looked down at the girl who nodded, "Yes~!" She said brightly, "I am a big girl~!"
The girl looked exactly like her, but with jet-black hair. There was something off about the feeling I got from the child; she was Quincy, yes....but...something more, something more.....powerful.
I clenched my fists as I began to feel a knot in my stomach, "Y-Yorui-" I said before stopping myself
"They can't see nor sense us." Yoruichi said, "Courtesy of Kisuke's umbrella."
I noticed a kido spell from the umbrella that Yoruichi was carrying, I didn't think much of it but it makes sense that it was cloaking us from them. We were right across the street from them, from Masaki.
Ryuken crouched down in front of the girl, "Ah, so you're alright huh?" He said, "Well, tomorrow after you two wake up, I'll take you somewhere for pancakes and waffles, eh?"
The girl nodded, "Yes, thank you Uncle~" She said with a smile
The boy nodded as well, "Thanks, Father."
Ryuken then stood up and smiled at both Masaki and Katagiri, "Go on ahead, you guys." He said, "I forgot my wallet inside the waiting room."
Masaki nodded, "Okay."
"Of course, darling." Katagiri said
I watched as they both walked away, seeing Masaki hold the girl's hand as they turned the corner.
Ryuken stood still, not moving from the spot where he stood, and merely looked at our corner.
"She looks like you, doesn't she?" He said with a serious face, "Shinigami."
"Huh?" I said with a perplexed tone
"Oh, yeah." Yoruichi said as she lowered the umbrella, "For some reason, Ryuken had Kisuke make him immune to this cloaking device."
I then felt rain falling from the sky, the drops hitting my shoulders and head as I looked at Ryuken, his eyes full of resentment.
"All these years, Masaki struggled." Ryuken said as he looked at me, "If it weren't for my Father, she would've been exiled from my House. But here she was, with that beautiful girl. And where were you? Nowhere to be seen. What do you have to say in your defense, Yamamoto Genryujin?!"
"I....." I started as there was a knot in my throat, "I....."
"These years must've gone by quick for a Shinigami, right?" He continued, "But for us Humans, Quincies, and those who aren't like you, it's a long time!"
"Your Daughter had no father to watch her grow!!"
