Chapter One Hundred Thirty:
Merwa Mountain
"Lady Edel!" my guard chased me but I ignored him even though it was hard for him to follow my pace as he came after me. "Oh, please! Lady Edelweiss!" he suddenly begged that made me to halt and wait for him.
"What did you want?!" I asked and still angry from what he had did. Because my parents found out that I was secretly meeting a mortal and because I was a Demigod it was forbidden in our race to mix with mortals to prevent the proliferation of half mortal half immortals because that is what causes great chaos in the world of mortal. Causing them to start a war because of thinking they had the hold of being an immortal, they beginning to become boastful and arrogant towards those weak and poor. The reason why, our tribe decided not to interact with them and just let them live on their own, yet, here I am, I met the man that I never thought I will fall in love.
To the point of disregarding my parents' rule and just secretly meet him in between. He lives in the Human World while I live in this holy place that our creator and father blessed to us.
Merwa Mountain is the highest point of the Cullen Village where we can see everything from the bottom to the top. This mountain is also serves as the portal of the Gods and Goddesses from heaven and hell. And we are the ones guarding the portal.
Thus, we play a large part for the order of the balance between the Immortals and the Mortals. To serve it right, Immortals like us set a rule that we need to follow but only I break one rule. I fall in love with a man from the Human World and I couldn't just stop myself not to fall in love with him.
"I'm so sorry, my Lady." He sincerely apologized and bowed his head.
"You are torturing him, my dear sister." Suddenly my twin brother came and helps my guardian to escape from my anger.
"You interfered again Manu." I said as I shake my head in disbelief. "You may leave us." I ordered but he didn't move. "What?!" I irritably asked since he didn't move at all.
"Go! I promise you I'll guard her through here." Manu answered before my guardian finally left me after saying his goodbye to us.
I take a very deep breath. "What do you want, Manu?"
"Nothing." He answered as he shrugs.
"Come on! Lalaki taki, yaka bisamag ak an! Nonga nganlaika om?" I directly asked him because knowing him I know he really meant something else that will only result in good or bad.
Manu scratched his head before answering. "Ganglata langlaki-lalaki om koa." he replied. "Anyway, I came here to tell you that I am here to help you out."
"What!" I surprisingly answered. "You… you'll help?"
"Yes."
"Why?"
"Because I know what it feels like to be in love but being forced to halt." He sadly answered and I know what he means because it's the same as me, he also falls in love with a human but because of our rules, our parents halt him that he obeys but I'm not him. I cannot just obey our parents because I love him so much, I couldn't just let him go. "Edel." He taps me on my shoulder. "I know it will be harder to convince our parents but soon they'll understand."
"How about you?" Manu looks at me and even though he's smiling at me, the sadness from his eyes couldn't just simply hide.
I know he was hurt by what our parents did but, I know he was hurt even more when the woman broke up with him. For a reason, she wanted to find someone with a normal life not like him with a complicated family, and I know how hard it was for my brother leaving him no choice but to let her do what his ex-girlfriend wanted.
Yet, even though I knew he was hurt and still sad every time he remembered what happened then, he was still able to move on. He lived a normal life and his heart was fine after he met a Witch, who became his friend but I know his friend already fall in love with him. But it seems that my brother only considers her a friend. My brother just couldn't say that because he didn't want her to get hurt.
That's how kind my brother is, that's why it's surprising that he suddenly changes. From being kind and warm hearted, he became heartless, emotionless and merciless. I really thought that he changes because of what he had experienced but my mind changes when I finally learned the truth.
His soul and his consciousness were thrown to perish forever but because of the hope that I have for my brother, I sacrifice myself to save him and bring his soul and consciousness back to him. Because I knew, that was the right thing to do also the love he had received from our parents is still intact that give hope. That even if death became my twin, I accept it wholeheartedly and save him no matter what it takes.
Present…
Somewhere…
"Anger." Suddenly Khawar speaks up after my long silence. "As hatla ng tonggus-togus ngok mindadam, litga."
"Because that's where you live, but that won't last long. I'll end your reign in vain and free my brother from you grasps. I'll set him free!" I said with full of determination. "And today, I will set my land free out of your grasp." I added before I cast a spell and a blinded light surrounds us all.
"Nooo!"
…
"Ahh!" pain suddenly embraces him. "Wh-what's going--"
"Bela!" Corey suddenly came.
"Wh-what are you doing here?"
"I came here to tell you this is the right time. 'He' will soon rise. And now, you are free to go berserk and slay as many as you can!"
