The area affected increased nearly tenfold from the start, and the palm print's depth exceeded five thousand meters. But even fifty meters was just a scratch on the Redstone Emperor's true body barely anything at all. For now, Lin Moyu was only working on the surface; some claw marks were so deep and powerful that handling them would be much more difficult.
After a day, Lin Moyu could deliver two palm strikes per Gather Power use; after three days, three palms at once. Helping the Redstone Emperor was also a process of learning and adapting for Lin Moyu. He was learning to control that level of power though he could only stay in that realm for two seconds at a time, he was becoming more and more familiar with it.
Ten days later, the Redstone Emperor finally quieted down, no longer trembling. His struggle was over, and peace returned for now, so Lin Moyu stopped.
A red light descended, guiding Lin Moyu back to the top of the giant stone. The shattered stone hut and table had already reformed, and the Redstone Emperor's avatar was there, drinking his blood cup after cup. Though it was the same avatar, his aura was clearly weakened. A ten day battle that left an Emperor weakened showed just how intense it had been.
The Redstone Emperor smiled wryly, "Sorry you had to see that, Dao Friend. I didn't expect those creatures to attack at this time."
Lin Moyu asked, "What are they?"
The Redstone Emperor replied, "They've always existed. You should have noticed the power left in those claw marks contains origin energy, which constantly absorbs power from the void and evolves into a polluted, cursed lifeform. Every so often, they attack, trying to kill me and take my true body."
"Though they've never succeeded and never will, it's troublesome I have to fight them now and then."
He spoke lightly, but it was clearly no easy matter.
Lin Moyu produced a spirit flower, "Emperor, try this."
The Redstone Emperor recognized its value and didn't hesitate to absorb it. But at his level, the flower's energy was spent in minutes. Afterward, his weakness faded and he improved, but Lin Moyu could tell it only treated the symptoms, not the cause. The flower helped him recover, but couldn't cure the root problem.
The Redstone Emperor smiled, "This flower is extraordinary, but it's not much use to me."
Lin Moyu said, "True. Now, carefully sense your true body I did something while you were fighting those creatures."
He didn't say what, letting the Redstone Emperor feel the change for himself.
The Redstone Emperor, deeply attuned to his true body, immediately noticed. With some surprise, he asked, "These palm prints were they your doing?"
Lin Moyu nodded, "Did it work?"
The Redstone Emperor's face lit up. "It worked very well!"
Lin Moyu smiled, "If I use this method to shatter all the claw marks, will your long standing problem be solved?"
The Redstone Emperor replied, "If you can really do that, it would be a tremendous boon. But it will be a lot of work for you." He knew how vast his true body was, and clearing all the marks would take a long time.
Lin Moyu said, "That's no problem. I just don't know what's at the deepest part of the claw marks or how it affects you."
The Redstone Emperor replied, "Do as you see fit my true body has no core, so as long as you don't shatter it, it's fine. And your palm prints are recoverable. If you can clear the claw marks, I'll soon be able to recover completely."
Lin Moyu said, "In that case, I'll get started. If you have any issues, just let me know."
With that, he flew off to begin his work.
