"Aren't they all cute!" Star exclaimed and Finn nodded along, unwillingly. They weren't that cute.
[Spit]
'Yes, there definitely not cute at all. 'Finn thought as he moved away from the spit before it could touch him. What he was sure of was that the spit was meant for him. What was up with this Llama, he barely did anything to it!
The animal Star was referring to as cute was a pair of two Lama's, resting on the ground lazily. Star was petting and fuzzing over the two animals and would have possibly climbed up one of them to ride away. Yes, she would do so, that was something Finn was sure off.
She had tried to do so and the only thing that prevented her from going on with her plans was the mean look the owner of the two animals had given them. So, Star had settled on petting the two animals, at least that was keeping her at bay and prevented her from wandering off or disturbing the other guest with questions.
"Hey, can you talk. My name's Star. What about you? "Star for some odd reason tried talking to the Lama. And now that he thought about it, he was the weird one for thinking such a thing was odd. He should really get with the times.
Talking animals, talking bushes, talking books, this world was truly a grand place of inclusivity.
[Spit]
Finn dodged another spit ball and moved further away from the fiendish animals; it was beneath him to be beefing with an animal. Maybe if it could talk, he would try but for now, he was the one taking the shorter end of the stick.
Finn did move closer to the owner of these two animals, and he had already sturdied the equally odd-looking man and the first thought that had come to mind on seeing him were.
'A Villager!'
The man had an eye attracting big nose, an astoundingly great straight posture and his arms were held together constantly at waist level. Finn was quite sure in the whole time he had been looking at the man that those arms had never moved from where they rested. What put the man different from the normal villagers he thought off was his hooded dark blue robes that looked quite comfy to walk with and a comfy red scarf. He dressed like someone who travelled long distances with ever changing climatic conditions.
And that was obviously it because standing before him was a wandering trader! A resident mob from the Minecraft world.
His knowledge and the recognizable resemblance of the mob was proving quite useful currently. His equally good memory was also a good factor too.
The man's blocky like appearance and his continuous hmms when Finn asked question only proved him more.
Finn had already tried doing an exchange with the wandering trader only to realize that his desire had failed before it even started, The trader only accepted emeralds as a form of trade. Finn had seen such and had immediately complained about the absurdity.
Even worse, the trader was selling quite normal things, such as different plants, sand and even fish. Finn had double checked and was quite sure all this stuff was quite normal and that had only made him madder. This all might have been useful in a survival game but here where would he need sand for!!
The wandering trader, even seeing his lack of Emeralds had even given Finn a dismissive Huff and looked elsewhere ignoring him. Which was quite a rude thing to do to a potential customer. People nowadays had completely no work ethics at all.
Finn was kind enough to keep his grievances to himself and move on. This was obviously fully confirming that any information gathering was going nowhere to the monk like existence that was the villager Infront of him.
But Finn was curious how the wandering trader had arrived at this event. Was it true his normal form of traveling by spawning or was it maybe through a portal? Hopefully, a nether portal! Good memories.
Finn was daydreaming about the wonderful world of Minecraft as he thought about how other than the normal dangerous mobs and crazy horror mods, it was quite a relaxing world to exist in. If you had a safe place to stay at night that was.
It was during his daydreaming that he noticed a short, clocked figure currently conducting a trade with the trader, the short figure even possessed the emeralds required which made the trader quite happy about it.
The trade was quick as the clocked figure moved along. He then strangely stopped after a few steps, looked back at Finn and went on his way once more.
'Strange' Finn thought but did not put much thought into it. There were too many strangers at this festival. And his instincts clearly told him that the person posed no danger to him at all.
"Come on, do a back flip." He moved back to Star, seeing her trying and failing to get the Llama to stand up.
That did get him to chuckle slightly. But seeing how the Llama was once more about to spit made him step away.
"Stupid animal" Finn had even had the strange thought of how Llama meat would taste.
.... Adventure Time
They had moved once more to a different section, this time the person attracting customers was another guy with a bowl cut hair style and a huge bag on his shoulders, a weird assortment of items peaked through the bag from food items to even odd kinds of equipment, and the bag was enormous, like really big. Finn wondered how the guy walked normally while carrying it. Accompanying the man was a pack donkey, which aided him in carting extra load.
Currently, the man who Finn had learnt was named Beedle, was in a conversation with Star once more, this time, the conversation was quite odd. Mainly focusing on Bugs, and not the interesting kind of bugs but the creepy crawly ones.
" Oh my god, you've seen a black stick, Beetle! You must bring me one, please, Ill do anything. Ill give you anything. Just bring me one. "Beedle pleaded and by how desperate he looked; Finn was quite sure he would do as he promised.
They had been hunched over a sort of scrap book for Star which she kept all strange sorts of stuff and Star had been showing off her own odd collection.
Star was smug and had this infuriating smile with her head raised high. She suddenly made an unwilling face.
"You know, it's one of my prized collections, I can't just bring it to anyone…" She sounded convincing but Finn could see the somewhat teasing smirk on her face and her poor acting capabilities. Beedle could not.
"Wait, I'll do anything. And I'm not just anyone. You can consider me a friend, from one bug lover to another. Here you can even choose anything from my collection for free as a sign of my thanks." Beedle had tears in his eyes as he spoke, looking very pitiful.
But Star acted immediately and picked up something from his collection without hesitation. She even pulled Finn closer urging him to do the same.
This made Beedle's expression worse, but he nodded with a strained smile.
Finn found it funny enough that he offered to pay with the money he had presently and luckily, Beedle was accepted the gold coins Finn used. He wasn't like other unreasonable shopkeepers.
Finn did buy a bunch of interesting looking arrows and was even lucky enough that Beedle had in stock about ten ice variants arrows which he quickly scooped up.
"I'll be sure to bring you the beetle friend. "Star said joyfully, swinging around the odd assessment of trinkets she had gotten from Beedle for free.
Finn found It amusing but he now had important matters to handle now that Star was distracted by her new assortments.
"Hey Beedle, anything interesting happening back in Hyrule." Finn asked normally, casually, and this attracted Beedle's attention.
He studied his features and looked at him curiously and Finn was sure a hint of recognition sparked in his eyes. What type he did not care to know.
Finn had noticed even the business-like smile that had appeared on Beedle's face before it was quickly masked.
"Nothing much really. Monsters attacking travelers, these strange portals opening for no reason, Hyrule castle was taken over by some evil guy. [Yawn]. Normal stuff if you ask me. "Beedle rubbed his stomach lazily as he spoke.
Finn found his eye twitching at the nonchalance of the traders' words at his otherwise shocking words. And he believed them to be somewhat normal.
At least he now had a general timeline for the current Legend of Zelda world. No matter how impractical the information was.
From his memory, Finn knew that the events of the game the world was based on would happen a hundred years into the future. Beedles had just told him that that period may have just started, and it was far from even starting was in the process of hitting a hundred-year mark, it could really be anything. So, in short, Beedle's information on the timeline was useless.
"How long ago would you estimate that this bad guy took over the Hyrule castle. "Finn asked. His wanting to know of that world was not that he wanted to interfere directly in its progression. No, that was not it at all. To his knowledge, the Legend of Zelda world was in good hands, even better hands than what Finn himself could pull off. He was sure that the world did not need his strength at all.
He was mostly asking these questions from curiosity, and his own desire to one day walk the lands of Hyrule.
"Don't know, a couple of years maybe. "Beedle answered while scratching his nose. And Finn could only accept such an answer. Beedle was truly a horrible source of information.
Beedle then suddenly had a complete change of expression as he rubbed his hands strangely.
"Now that were done with the boring stuff, why don't I introduce you to this fine apparel. "Beedle said and pulled something from his huge bag.
"This is a Hylian tunic, a light common piece of gear that's in craze back in Hyrule. It's exceptionally durable and luckily easy to move in. All the best travelers are wearing it nowadays and not only is it fashionable is even matches the color of your eyes!" Beedle made his sales pitch while making sure to highlight all the positive and Finn would not lie as he said he was quite interested.
And the tunic did match the color of his eyes, a striking blue, and Finn did need something else that would offer protection when he did not want to wear the ninja suit.
"Let's talk price." Finn directly said and the happy smile Beedle gave only got bigger.
"20 of your gold coins! Nonnegotiable. And remember, this is the latest fashion back in Hyrule and it's even a limited-edition color. Beedle said seriously and Finn smiled kindly, a gentle smile.
He then immediately turned and started walking away. Why would he accept to be scammed so openly? And to think he had trusted Beedle.
"Waitttttt! We can talk about it, how about 19 gold coins…18, okay I'll do for you 17 just because you drive a hard bargain. "Finn had neither spoke as the price decreased but he did turn and give Beedle a blank stare. He was still being this shameless while saying he was giving Finn a bargain price. The fact that Finn was aware that the tunic was quite common did not help Beedle at all. So, Finn decided to make use of his own secret weapon.
"Star! Mr. Beedle is bulling me!" Finn called out as he ran towards Star's open arms upon hearing him.
Beedle paled, and Star strutted over with righteous fury.
