I woke up with a start, gasping for breath. Everything around me felt different—new, strange, and utterly foreign. The first thing I noticed was the overwhelming brightness, far more intense than anything I'd ever experienced. My vision was blurry, and I struggled to make sense of my surroundings.
After my vision cleared up, I saw a giant face looking down at me. It looked just like a normal human, but way bigger.
'Huh?' I thought to myself. 'What is this? Where am I? Wasn't I dead like this morning or something?'
I looked beside the woman and saw a man, a bit bigger than her.
'Who is this and why is he smiling?!...Wait, don't tell me I look like their dinner right now.'
As the thought registered in my head, I began yelling and kicking.
"Unhand me, you sick things! I refuse to be eaten by you! I've died once already!"
Well.....that's what I tried to say. What came out sounded more like slurs, or something a baby would say. I swung my hand at them, trying to land a punch after I realized they didn't understand a word I said.
'Eat my fist, you giants! Wait.....my fist.....it's tiny...and fat...just like a baby's...WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON HERE?!'
The woman holding me wrapped me in a white cloth and handed me over to another woman lying on a bed.
'This is it, I'm gonna die....again.'
She held me in her arms way too carefully, especially if they were going to eat me. Then the man sat at the edge of the bed.
"My dear son," the woman said.
'What? Who? Me? Son? Oh, I've read about this before. I must be reincarnated....cool.'
The man then picked me up and held me above his head.
"Your name will be Aric....Aric Altair! Welcome to the world!"
I stared down at the two of them, trying to process everything. Reincarnated, huh? Well, this was going to be interesting.
