Bai Cheng'an found the nearest pet hospital, and the duty veterinarian conducted a thorough examination of the kitten, explaining that kittens are generally weak in resistance during this month and are prone to adverse reactions such as diarrhea and vomiting. Additionally, this particular kitten had left its mother too early, failing to get enough breast milk, and was thus in worse condition than other kittens. The issues were not caused by any improper actions during artificial feeding.
Mu Rou's guilt finally eased a bit.
The veterinarian gave the kitten an injection and thoroughly disinfected it. Noticing the age was about right, he asked Mu Rou if she wanted to have the kitten vaccinated as well.
Mu Rou, of course, was willing, so she stayed with Bai Cheng'an the whole time, accompanying the kitten as it gradually awoke and became more energetic, even waving its little paws at the vet.
