Chapter 19 - 17.The Value of a life

They looked at me speechless for a moment before they finally calmed down. "I'm amazed that we have King Arthur in our faction. I'm honored." He obviously didn't want to talk about the topic any further, so I'll get straight to the point. "Never call me Arthur again. You just need to call me Rider for the rest of our collaboration. Did you want to ask something else or what was that task you were talking about?" "No, no, I've got enough information about you for now. As long as you're on our side, everything is fine. As far as the task goes, you should escort Ruler to us if possible, and your master will accompany you. Once everything is sorted out, you can set off." Hmm, he probably wants to test how strong I really am, well, that will definitely surprise her. Since no one else had anything to say, we set off in a car, or rather she set off while I followed her in ghost form. When we arrived somewhere in the desert, we heard loud sounds of fighting from afar, so she ordered me to go ahead and scout out the situation. There they were Ruler and probably Lancer from the other faction, but what was strange was that Lancer was trying to kill Ruler the whole time, when I told Celenike about it, she gave me permission to kill Lancer. But let's be honest, as if I needed her permission for anything. Since I wanted to make a cool entrance, I summoned my horse, it was blood red with plate armor and a skull mask so that only his red eyes were visible. Since I was already in my armor as usual, I climbed onto the horse and called my lance. Rhongomyniad was a black lance with red spikes around it. I aimed it and threw it exactly at the spot where Lancer was standing. 'Ting' Instead of being impaled, he deflected the hit so that everything behind him was destroyed. His reaction was good. He also briefly retreated to a safe distance to observe his new opponent more closely. I did the same. This golden armor and this spear looked pretty luxurious, but based on his fighting stance he was certainly very skilled. My guess was that he was the son of some god who received many valuable treasures from his parent. The fight seemed to be briefly interrupted when Celenike spoke to Ruler and asked for help in defeating the red lancer. Ruler, or as she introduces herself, Jeanne d'arc, however, refused to take sides in the Grail War, so we both kept to ourselves. "You must be the Rider of Black. The fact that we meet first must be a sign. I am Karna, son of the sun god. If you do not fear my lance then fight.""I am Artoria, your imminent downfall, fight until your last breath."

The two servants collided with tremendous force, so that everything around them was swept away. You could see that both of them were using their weapon mastery to their full advantage. When Artoria backed away a little, her weapon shone in a red light until a powerful beam came at Lancer at the speed of light. Since there was too little time, he could not dodge and was hit, causing a gigantic explosion that vaporized everything within reach. When Kana revealed herself again, he was almost unharmed except for a severe burn on his stomach, which seemed to surprise him. Artoria did not miss this opportunity. Her horse brought her to him at incredible speed and hit him with a lot of force from the side. He recovered, however, so that he could block the attack, but not without being sent through a huge rock. They collided again and again, with their energy attacks destroying large parts of the area. When Artoria shot him into the air, he attacked her with fireballs, but they couldn't do any significant damage to Artoria. When the two of them faced each other again and prepared for the next round, Kana looked in a certain direction before sighing. "My master wants me to come back, we will continue this fight." As he was about to turn around, Artoria said. "Run back to that coward, just know that you will die by my hand." And so Lancer disappeared, leaving only Celenike and Ruler behind, with Ruler having had a frown on his face since Artoria had appeared. When she got off her horse, she came straight to Jeanne. "Why are you looking at me like that?" "I can sense a lot of negative energy and emotions in you, are you a heroic spirit or an evil spirit?" "Hey, what if that's me, you wouldn't stand a chance against me even with your command spells." "I'm responsible for this Grail War, so I have to think about the safety of normal people too." "Yes, yes, however, do you want to come with us to the Yggdmillennia base or not?" "I already told your master that I will maintain an impartial attitude." "You say that now, let's see how it looks later." With these words, Artoria went back into her other form and always kept a healthy distance from her master as they made their way back.

At another location 100 kilometers away, two people were seen sitting in a church and talking. One person was Shirou Kotomine, while the other was Seline Schochune, the reincarnator and target of Artoria. Seline was a 25-year-old woman with black hair wearing a blue dress. "Shirou, don't worry, we will both redeem this world and save humanity." "I hope so, we have worked towards this for so many years, let's just hope that everything goes as planned." At that moment, Semiramis appeared before them to report. "I wanted to let you know that Saber and his master have arrived." The two nodded while they waited quietly for the master to arrive. When a large, intimidating man appeared, neither was shocked and he started to ask calmly. "Well, you two must be masters of the red faction and where are the others?" "They are currently gathered somewhere else. I am Shirou Kotomine and this is Seline Schochune. We are the masters of Assassin and Archer. If I am right, you are the master of Saber, right?" "That's right. Come on, Saber, show yourself." "You can show yourselves too." At her words, three more people appeared: a knight known as Saber, an elf-like woman with long hair as Assassin, and a woman with animal ears and green-brown hair as Archer. "Now that we all know each other, I just wanted to inform you about some of the enemy servants. Firstly, they have Vlad III, who slaughtered the elite attack mages of the bell tower, and here we were able to get a picture of the black rider via long-distance reconnaissance, but we do not yet know their identity." When the picture was shown, Mordred stiffened in her armor and her eyes widened. The equipment had changed a lot, but this face was clearly hers. Yes, she was sure that this was her "father". However, she didn't say a word because she absolutely distrusted these people. A few other things were discussed until Shirou asked Saber's master Kairi Sisigou if he would like to meet the other masters. The offer was nevertheless rejected with the agreement of Mordred, on the grounds that he was a lone fighter and Saber had more than enough strength to cope on his own. When they wanted to leave, Assassin tried to stop the two of them, but was stopped by her master. After Kairi had left the church, he asked Saber. "Are they still following us?" "No, I would feel it if they were nearby, but I have something important to say." "What would that be?" "The picture you just showed, I'm very sure that was my father!" "Wait, King Arthur is also supposed to be a woman and why do you call her father?" "It's a habit because I was never allowed to say it, the important thing is that she's here on the enemy side. I want to go to her right now and get my revenge." "Don't rush it, you'll get your chance to see her again, until then stay calm." "Hah, you're right, so let's buy me some clothes first.

When I returned to the Yggdmillennia clan I wandered through the hallways until Archer asked me to follow him. Since I had nothing to do anyway, I went with him to his room. But what I saw there almost made me laugh. You could see a weak homunculus trying to hide behind the bed. "Archer, what exactly is that supposed to mean? Why is one of our batteries up here?" "Really, Rider, none of this matters to you. He's like a human. He has the will to live." "Well, for me people are actually expendable; at most they're a means to an end." "So you're not going to help me get him out somehow?" "No, but I'll watch and see what happens. I'm sure it will be very interesting." With these words I left the room and waited for the good show. In fact it wasn't long before I saw the two of them running towards the forest at the side exit. I followed them without being noticed until the alarm went off and everyone was supposed to catch Archer with the Homunculus. I saw Saber quickly approaching his master and the two parties clashed, with Archer being suppressed because he didn't want to fight seriously. As for the Homunculus, he was badly injured with just one blow - really pathetic. As all this was happening, a surprise guest arrived. Ruler came to help the Homunculus, but he would die in a few minutes. Then the unbelievable happened: the loyal dog Saber knocked his master unconscious and actually wanted to give this good-for-nothing his heart so that he could continue to live. I didn't care what became of him, but I couldn't let him die like that now or we would lose the strength to fight against the opponents. I jumped out of the tree and landed next to the homunculus with my weapon raised, but before anyone could react I rammed my lance into his chest. He coughed up blood but quickly calmed down and stopped breathing. Saber, whose fingers were already slightly in his chest, froze before he attacked me for the first time with an angry expression on his face. Since he was still overwhelmed by his emotions, it was easy to just throw him against a few rocks after he realized that he couldn't hurt me, he finally shouted. "Why, why did you do that?" "Isn't it obvious, do you really think I would lose one of our fighters because of that weak insect? Stop crying, we both know that the blood of innocents sticks to your hands too, now we're on our way again, the time to kill you hasn't come yet." So we both ran back, keeping a good distance from me, but whatever.
