Chapter 5 - 知るDISCOVER

A blue light extended out from Hina and swirled around me. I was surprised to feel her body shaking with what I could only describe as pleasure. We departed.

"You seemed to like that..." I commented.

"It was like something activated in me... It felt like—"

Her eyes glistened with a blue glow.

"Like my whole life I've been missing something and just now I realized it was you."

"Look out!" Shouted Eiko.

Lucious' blade of stars swung down. I flinched, realizing I hadn't been paying attention. The end of the sword spiraled towards my face. I accepted that this was the end. But then it stopped. The blade suspended in mid air. Something had prevented it from hitting me. I stared upward to see a translucent blue surface. The blade had struck it and become trapped. I turned to see Hina holding up her hands, her eyes glowing the same translucent blue. She weaved around the light, creating a shield for me. I was right. The girls had power—and I was the key to unlocking it.

"Hina! Cover me!"

Mei came throttling towards me. She swung her oversized weapon but I jumped upward and dodged it. I landed on the shield that Hina created. I grabbed Lucious' sword and pried it out from the light. I stumbled back, surprised that the blade was relinquished into my grip.

"Girls! Finish them!" Barked Lucious.

The eleven other girls came marching forward.

I turned to the students behind me.

"You have to defend yourselves!" I shouted.

"How are we supposed to do that?" Pleaded Akiko.

Blasts of different colored light and energy came hurtling from Lucious' side of the field. I grunted and leapt off the floating shield, sword in hand. Explosions rippled around the quad as I approached Akiko. Despite having an ordinary life for as long as I can remember, I was starting to get used to the unusual. Akiko stepped away from me, her cheeks a wine red tone. I could smell her fleeting scent of strawberries.

"You're not kissing me." She snapped.

"It's not like that—" I began.

Eiko, Haru, and Keiko stepped toward me.

"We'll help." Declared Haru.

She then grabbed me by the shirt and pulled me in for a kiss. Akiko winced, turning away from us. I pushed Haru's circular glasses up, my hand running through her short apricot hair. Hey doughy breasts were held by the tight cloth of her lingerie and pressed against me. My hands ran down her figure, feeling the plush pale skin of her butt. This was the most intimate I'd ever been with a woman... Then Eiko and Keiko joined. Starlight glistened off of a loose hanging strap on Eiko. The dark threading of her bra pushed out from her leather jacket and sunk into my left shoulder. I felt her boobs bounce and teeter as they enveloped me. Her green hair was as lush as it looked and carried a scent of citrus. Keiko planted a kiss on the right side of my face. She slung her arms around me and pried my right hand to reach under her violet skirt and grab her fluffy underwear. My fingers twitched as I realized she was wet. Her dress shirt was buttoned all the way up to a massive set of cleavage which burst out the top and squished into me. Her purple hair carried the scent of lilac. The three girls sandwiched me between them. Their mouths all pressed against mine, their hands gripping me from every direction A glowing light enveloped each of them—Eiko's silhouette burned green, Haru had an orange glow, and Keiko a purple hue.

I stumbled away from them, the onslaught of Lucious' army now approaching. An opposing girl flew out from a wall of smoke with a spear of light pointed at me. I flinched in response, my arms reaching to cover my face. But nothing hit me. I opened my eyes to see Keiko ramming into the girl with two katanas made of purple light. They dueled back and forth, their eyes glowing the same color as their silhouettes. I turned around only to find a ball of fire hurtling in my direction. Haru leaped in-between me and the inferno, ethereal gauntlets of orange star-dust fending off the attack. The fire split into two directions and spread to the sides of us. Ash littered the once green quad, embers spreading across Kengen's campus. How did we get here...? I watched as Eiko grew mounds of vines and moss in mere moments, which were used as makeshift whips that slashed at her attackers. Hina swirled a malleable stream of blue light around her, throwing up shields of radiance to defend herself. My mind was spinning as I watched powers beyond my comprehension be thrown around like they were common place. My stomach churned. I fell to my knees and lurched over, vomit splattering against the ash ridden grass.

"You're a fast learner..." Spat Lucious.

He stepped toward me defiantly, his armor gleaming underneath the stars around us. His eyes glowed a burning red. Mine wearily looked into his, my hands shaking. I reluctantly held up his so called 'blade of stars'.

"I won't lose to a beginner." He grit.

He reached to his sides and pulled out two daggers.

"This university is mine. The women here will join my star-sector."

"We could get back home. Together." I offered.

A grin consumed his face. The women around us battled relentlessly. Blasts of light and energy rippled throughout the field. Lucious lunged, the daggers parading down at me before I could even blink. I threw up my blade and they bounced off each other. I stumbled back a step, surprised by the impact. His daggers had scraped along the sword, nearly allowing him to grab hold of the blade. I bit my lip. He knew what he was doing. I did not. The most experience I had sword fighting was playing pretend with my prop lightsabers. Back at home. Back on Earth. I looked to the girls I barely knew who fought for their lives. I stared up at the stars swirling around me. Everything was so unfamiliar. I screamed and bolted ahead. My shoes ripped through the dirt and soot below. I bit down on my tongue and swallowed whatever fear lingered within me. If everything here was so different then maybe I could be too. I swung the blade with all my might. Lucious was caught by surprise, an expression of shock on his face. I heaved the sword into his side. His armor shook and the blade bounced off. A notable dent sat where I hit him. His grin returned.

"Better luck next time."

A claw of metal latched around my neck. The blade of stars dropped to the ground. I was lifted from the dirt, the chokehold forcing me up. I gasped for air as my face turned blue. I kicked and rattled as much as I could but it was no use. I looked around as my vision blurred. Akiko stood in the distance, watching with fear. Hina, Eiko, Haru, and Keiko dropped to the ground as they were cornered by the eleven other girls. It was defeat.

"It's a shame you never lasted in this game."

My head pulsed with pain as the air escaped my lungs.

"I almost feel guilty for ending things right when they were just starting."

I stared at the blade of stars below. My eyes tremored with tears. My face scrunched up, my mind sharpening. The hilt of the sword jostled.

"Your girls will prove useful in my harem. Soldiers for the army."

The sword rose to the air, hovering in place. Lucious raised a dagger.

"Goodbye."

Before he could stab me, the sound of a sharp 'CRACK' rang throughout the field. I dropped to the ground. The blade of stars had skewered through the dent I made earlier. Lucious staggered backward, blood oozing from a break in the armor. Air flowed into me, my composure returning. The attacking girls froze in place—petrified at the sight of Lucious. I stood up and walked towards him. My shadow stretched to loom over him. I watched as the red in his eyes dissipated. He looked up at me with unadulterated fear. He knew he was going to die.

"Kill him. For me." He sputtered.

"Kill who?" I questioned.

"The God of Lust."

Confusion filled my face. I didn't understand.

"He's the one who did all this."

Then the light in Lucious' eyes had ceased. He was gone. I turned to the other girls, an awkward smile on my face. I looked beyond them and to the second university which was crushed into the side of ours. Both masses drifted in space.
