Chapter 20 - Power up

"Word control," Mark said as his mind said, looking at the last word in what the system said.

"So it just a domain with weaker skill," Makt said, looking angry as his face was in pure rage.

"Well, you sh....." Before Mark could sat anything, a sudden pain entered his mind, as his blood entered his eyes.

Mark quickly landed on the ground and tried to stand as he fell again before turning to look at who attacked him.

All Mark could see was a blurry figure with a vase on it hand as blood covering the end of it.

-------

Mark was knocked unconscious as a voice said, "bast**d, I can't believe something like this would happen to me," Miyu said, looking angry.

"I will have you.... huh," Miyu said knee as she suddenly got worried about why Mark wasn't standing up.

"Why should I worry about what happen as a sudden thought enter her mind, her eye glowing red," Miyu pick up the broken vase.

"Breaking the barrier as cause me unnecessary damage and problem," Miyu said in a deep and dark voice as she raise her hands.

Suddenly Mark dodge the swing Miyu did as he land on hus feet after doing two back flip to dodge and get on his feet.

"Huhhh.....I thought I got you unconscious with that attack on his head," Miyu said before disappearing.

Mark who was being control by the system turn to look at his right as he saw her with the broken vase attacking him.

A sudden down pour of water started falling from the sky.

Rain hammered the roof as lightning illuminated the living room. The once-cozy space was a wreck—upturned furniture, broken glass, and blood smeared across the walls.

Mark stood in the center, chest rising and falling slowly, a jagged piece of ceramic in his hand—the remnants of a shattered vase. His eyes glowed faint blue, distant and empty.

System Override Active. Initiating Soul Shard Combat Protocol.

His movements were precise, fluid—far beyond human. The Soul Shard embedded in his chest pulsed like a second heart, syncing with every twitch of muscle. He wasn't fighting. He was executing.

Miyu crouched across from him, her mouth curled into a wicked grin. Her eyes, sharp and cruel, gleamed with bloodlust. "I always knew you had potential, Mark. Shame you had to waste it playing the good guy."

She lunged.

To any normal eye, she vanished. But Mark moved faster.

The vase shard sliced through the air in a flash, blocking her strike and sending sparks flying as her nails clashed against the broken edge. The sound was deafening in the cramped room. Her momentum was halted mid-air, and her smirk faltered.

Mark twisted, ducked, and drove his elbow into her ribs. Bones cracked. She gasped but didn't scream. Pain only fueled her rage.

"This is what i expect from use a wasted body?" she said distanfully as she look at Mark before saying. "Or is the virus puppeteering what's the rest of your unconscious body?"

He didn't answer.

Soul Shard Priority: Eliminate Hostile Entity.

He dashed forward with blinding speed, the floor beneath him cracking from the force. Miyu barely avoided the first swipe of the shard, but the second came from behind—he'd already moved. It slashed her shoulder. Blood sprayed.

"You think you can stop me with a with a soul shard?" she growled, flipping over the couch and kicking it toward him like a missile.

Mark slashed it in two without slowing down. He was already upon her.

They clashed again—blow after blow exchanged faster than thought. Superhuman reflex against superhuman instinct. But she was slowing.

The Soul Shard amplified everything—reaction time, decision-making, muscle control. He didn't hesitate. He didn't feel.

Miyu stumbled after a sweeping kick caught her knee. She dropped, chest heaving, her eyes wild.

"This isn't over," she hissed, blood dripping from her mouth. "You'll be use to repair this damage.... you annoy pest."

Mark stood over her, arm raised, the shard poised for the final strike.

The system quickly give her a punch filled with the power fo soul shard as it reflect all the attack it has absorb.

Miyu lunged in desperation, but he drove the shard into her side first, but it was too late as the punch connected.

The glow in Mark's eyes dimmed.

System: Threat Neutralized.

She collapsed on the ground on moving.
