Chapter 118 - 58. My Secret Art (part 2)

BAARRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The whole arena was thrown to the side, leaving us with just a completely flat ground. I quickly understood what this meant, but I'm just wondering if the referee will allow it.

"Hey, ref! No more out of bounds, yeah?" Jonah asked the referee who is not too far away from our position, and our P.E. teacher who is the referee realized Jonah's intentions.

"Done. Do not fire any attacks at the spectators."

"Will do, sir!" Jonah lifted his hand and saluted, and the referee left the area for a much safer distance.

"Oh!? It seems like the referee has abandoned the arena. I guess this means no more arena?" The announcer asked, and that is exactly what is happening.

"It seems like the two are ditching the whole 'Out of Bounds' rule completely. Now, the two can use the whole arena to their advantage." Nathan gave his analysis, and everyone seemed to understand it as well.

"I see! In that case, since the referee isn't around, should we be the one to start it?"

"I guess so? Let's start counting down, then!"

Now that everyone has understood, the time has come for us to prepare.

Jonah's hair quickly started becoming yellow at the back side. My hair also turned bright blue at the tips of my long hair. Our presence became ten times stronger than before, turning the air around us quite rowdy.

""Three!!""

From the announcer room, Nathan and the announcer said at the same time. And hearing the countdown, the crowd began to follow as well.

"""Two!!!"""

"""One!!!"""

"""FIGHT!!!"""

In an instant, I took out my sea dragon technique and struck Jonah with it. The sea dragon flies rapidly until it arrives right where Jonah is standing, but the tall guy already got a shield out made of rock.

VWOOOMMMM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The shield managed to completely stand despite being shoved tons of condensed water through it, protecting the guy behind it. However, Jonah isn't done.

He punched the shield to make it flung forward, and I had to dodge to the side to avoid the incoming flying rock.

BAAAARRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!

The shield successfully crashed to the wall behind me, but I noticed that it was a little too close to the spectators. Jonah also realized it, and he started panicking.

Looks like I'll have to take this seriously before Jonah can hurt anyone. I lifted both of my hands upwards, and multiple swirls of water could be found around me.

"RRHOOOAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!"

"RHHOOOOAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

"HRROOOAAAAAAAAHHH!!!!!!!!!!!"

Three sea dragons came out of the ground and flew around the airspace within the dome. Seeing three sea dragons out and flying around, everyone turned widely afraid that these condensed water might hit them.

And sure enough, even Jonah turned worried seeing so many sea dragons growl at him.

"This is… new. Where have you learned this?" Jonah asked as he prepared himself for what is to come, and I didn't even bother answering.

I pointed my hands forward, and the three water dragons flew straight to where Jonah is. Jonah very quickly lifted multiple giant rocks from the ground to protect himself from the sea dragons, but the force behind these dragons aren't simply blockable with measly rocks.

BAARRRRRR!!!!!!!!!

BLAARRR!!!!!!!!!!!

The rock shields Jonah created was effortlessly broken through, and the guy knew he cannot easily block the dragons. As such, he took out a familiar sword that only he owns.

… Crap.

VWUNNNGGGGG!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Jonah swung his father's blade horizontally, and the powerful slash created by the swing successfully sliced all three of my sea dragons all at once. However, the slash isn't exactly over after that.

FTAAANNNNGGGGGGGG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The powerful slash was very close to harming the spectators. However, I already jumped up to the spot where the trajectory of the slash was going to reach. I swung my thin sword, a gift from my parents right before I came to the academy, and I was able to completely disperse the force that Jonah sent with his slash.

"E-EH!?" Jonah turned quite confused seeing that his slash nearly harmed the audience, but he was more confused that I was able to completely shut down his slash.

In that case, let's return him with a similar strike.

I waited until we both landed back on the ground. As soon as my feet landed, I conjured five sea dragons all at once with all my concentration. Jonah saw this, and he decided that long range battle is going to be disadvantageous for him.

So, he dashed forward, running straight at me with a giant blade in his hand.

"Not so fast!!" Jonah shouted as he swung his giant blade forward multiple times, releasing powerful invisible slashes.

Those invisible slashes are a technique that was famously owned by the Holy Knight. It seems like even Jonah has learned new things in the past three months.

VWOOSSSHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!

As the slashes got closer to me, I lifted my thin sword forward. I commanded all five dragons to move in front of me, creating five layers of protection.

ZRESSHHH!!!!!!!!

ZREESSSSHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!

One sea dragon was never enough to protect me from his invisible strikes. But, what about multiple?

Because there's more layers that his slashes have to break through, Jonah's invisible slashes never even reached the fifth layer. Seeing this, Jonah leaped up really high, and he charged even more power to the blade on his hand.

Looks like he is focusing all of his strength into one slash. For sure, this is going to be a very dangerous threat for my sea dragons.

But, this is precisely what I wanted from him.

"Valkarian Secret Art:"

My voice echoed as the layers of water dragons fell over into waves of normal water, revealing me who was simply waiting inside. Jonah noticed that I was purposely challenging him by taking down all my defenses, and he grinned even wider as he confidently swung his blade downwards.

However, that was a big mistake for him.

"Counter Bubble!"

I swung my sword upwards, forming a complete circle. The condensed water I enchanted into my blade was left behind in the air, forming a circle that is made of a powerful water origin technique.

The circle expanded around me, creating a very thick bubble that is protecting my entire body. Jonah's powerful slash arrived right when the bubble had formed, and it was immediately absorbed by the bubble.

ZREBBB!!!!!!!!!

The sound of the bubble changing shape was heard, and the slash Jonah made was deepened, just like a heavy object landing on a pillow.

However, this only lasted for a moment, because the bubble then began to push the slash outwards. With the same amount of force, the bubble returned to its original position, throwing the slash force back to its sender.

A complete reversal to the slash.

"Wha--!!!"

ZREESSSSSSHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Jonah's slash was returned to him perfectly. He managed to lift his sword to block the attack, but it was still big enough to land and pierce his skin.

His arms were slashed open, revealing the skin underneath and spurting blood. Jonah's body was able to be protected by the blade, but it's very clear to me that the damage done to his arms already made it impossible for him to do anymore of those powerful slashes.

As Jonah landed on the ground, I let go of the bubble and allowed it to disappear. The bubble disappears into a puddle of water next to my feet, revealing my appearance that is completely untouched and still full of energy.

"That was far too easy, Jonah. What do you say? Call it a day?" I joked while putting my sword on my shoulder, and Jonah realized that it has indeed gone far too easy for me.

Seeing that even his arms are in a bad condition, Jonah is smart enough to know that he is not going to have a good time if he continues. As such, he made the bold decision.

"I surrender… That technique of yours, I can never win as long as you have it." Jonah said as he sheathed his blade back to the sheath on his back, and I chuckled.

I sheath my sword as well, and both announcers at the speaking room noticed.

"I-It seems like the battle has been concluded! With a nasty wound on his arms, Jonah Calfman has conceded!

The winner… is her highness, Princess Lilyanna!!"
