The girl opened her eyes.
"You're awake?"
"Mm."
"Is your injury any better?"
"It hasn't worsened, but healing will take time."
"Oh. Do you want to eat something?"
There was a fire burning in the cave.
On the fire sat an iron pot, inside which instant noodles were boiling.
Shen Ye wasn't sure if she would eat, so he asked.
The girl rose from the stone platform, looked at the pot for a moment, then turned her gaze to Shen Ye.
"How long did I sleep?"
"Only two hours."
"...I slept too deeply. Nothing happened, right?" The girl stood up and walked barefoot to sit beside Shen Ye.
"No, everything's fine." Shen Ye replied.
He used chopsticks to pick up the noodles, served two bowls—one for the girl, and one for himself.
"I don't know what's going on with you, but I suggest you go back, back to the city."
Shen Ye said.
"Why?" The girl stared at him.
"There are some good healers in the city; they should be able to help you recover quickly." Shen Ye explained.
