Chapter 31 - Black day...

War, war never changes.

Just yesterday, this place was just a peacefully boring shopping mall, with no importance at all. Because it was so calm here, someone can say that even the music is slowly and sleeping. On normal, if there wasn't a peak hours, there was hardly people in, yet things go smoothly. There was a peace and relaxation. Now, its a war zone, filed with tension, angry screams, wrath and boiling blood. Heck even the background music is filled with action, like if someone decided to switch into a battle soundtrack, something that will help the blood to pumping through blood veins.

Don't panic! There is not a need to be alarmed or over-stressed about whats going on around. (At last not too much.) Certainly you don't need to run around heedlessly, like panicked chicken, trowing you hands into air and screaming, so people will thing that you lose your mind. Be aware, that the world is not ending. (At last not the real one. No one know if your personal world fallen down like a house of cards in a breeze.) There was not an accident or a terrorist attack. Not even protest, revolution, revolt or war. Definitely not an emotional dispute between fans of sport teams ending into a clash. Nothing illegal is happening here. (I mean,-- mostly...)

But still… Why it must be that day,-- today? I mean, it feel like this day will happen eventually, yet at the same time it feel like a legal illegality. One can say, this day is happening only because someone from higher-ups though its a funny promotion event how to imprint a feeling of a good purchase, especially if backed by strong emotions of risking your health, (Mostly mental one.), for a purchase of a lifetime. One can though, that this shall be prevented by just limiting the number of customer inside, making the rest of them waiting outside, until some people got out. But that will be against free shopping spirit, as overcrowding is entertainment on its own. Especially when police officer can easily deal with the shopping campers, waiting outside of the shopping malls over the nigh to be the first one to get in when the open hours began. Or at last they can deal with aggressive shoppers, who getting desperate to not getting what they want. Especially those who come just for the violence.

Normally this was just a boring small pharmacy, yet it was full of people in need of first aid. Nobody who come today to our corner, bother about some small scrapes and bruises, but real blood leaks or dislocated joints are the thing that are mostly on menu.

It is kind off to see the old doctor, who is long retired to be helping here as volunteer, just for this one particular day. Still wearing his wear-out doctor coat that probably was with him his entire carrier. Yet he get here together with us not using the main entrance like the shoppers, but our supply route, that is just a reinforced door directly on parking loot. Who knows what deals he make with the mall boss. But with a large bottle of sanitizer, medical tweezers holding cotton ball and a crate of plasters and bandages; a lot of people were patched up quite fast and send away. Sometime, back to the battlefield. But the waiting line of people in medical need, refuse to disappear until late hours. All of those people were fully capable to not get injured in first place, just by not be in mall on this day, participating in this event in year, or act rationally. But all of them are here semi voluntarily.

One can call this event, a modern dungeon treasure hunt. A somehow legal, free for all melee fistfight competition. One of those, where the entry fee, or feefor participation, is paid only when, you actually success to get you hands on something and drag it to the cashier. The only competition, where you actually paying for a wining price, saliva drooling about the unheard criminal discount percentage. Plus its a win, when it is what you actually wanted to get, and still have a feeling that all what you do to obtain it, was worth it. Still, to many got hook onto the adrenaline event to have that kind of fun, and provocative selling prices.

So why? Why it must that day, to be today?… When it is, just a Black Friday selling madness.
