Chapter 15 - Chronicle 15 ~ Round-Robbin (5)

High up in the stands where the upper echelons of the outer court were seated a conversation was ongoing.

"This battle has come to an end"

"Well the winner is quite obvious"

"Yes that's true, while it seems like they're equally matched, they aren't"

"Hmmm, for every three blows Vin throws, Victor is only able to block one if he's lucky and none of he isn't"

"That's true, and the reason Victor is even able to hit Vin at all is actually because Vin allowed him to"

"The gap in their strength is really high"

"If Vin wanted he would have ended this battle at the beginning"

"Well from the looks of it, he's one who thrives in battle, that's why he's allowed it to last for so long"

"Well it doesn't matter now anyways"

Just like they said the battle had truly come to an end as two people stood on the stage, well only one was standing as the other was being held by the throat.

"Any last words" Vin said as he held Victor's neck as he raised him up into the air. "You wouldn't dare to kill me because the Cadmus brothers will come after you" Victor said weakly.

"Well then I guess I just have to use you to send a message to the world" Vin said as he turned to the crowd who had gone silent at some point.

"Hear this every one of you. My name is Eremiel Vin Celestra. Dominator of Hell. And If there's anyone who has the guts and audacity to go against me, there is only one outcome for you" he loudly declared.

"BURN!!!!"

Deep violet Flames gushed out of his hands and engulfed the whole of Victor and then.....

"Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhh!!!!!"

A painful shriek rang out piercing through the hearts of everyone present. Although they weren't the ones experiencing the torture of being burned alive.

It felt like they could actually feel his pain, as the moment that flame had appeared everyone felt a piercing jab at their souls as if they were being judged.

The temperature in the arena had literally risen a few dozen degrees.

"Wh.wh.what kind of flame is that"

"It feels like my soul is being judged by an entity"

"Such monstrousity"

Regardless of their cultivation levels they all felt very uncomfortable under the Flames at that moment.

Vin seeing that everyone was giving him inquisitive looks, he decided to make a quick introduction.

"This flame is called the Karmic Hell Flame, and just as it's name suggests, it's a flame of hell that burns the karma of every sin you've committed.

The more sin you've committed, the hotter and longer it burns and every pain you've ever Inflicted or caused to someone else will be reflected ten times over."

Even Vin was quite shocked at this information as he was only informed of this as soon as he had started burning Victor and by the flame itself.

There was also something he didn't dare to mention, and that was the Karmic hell Flames doesn't just burn the karma of others, it devours them to strengthen it self.

They more karma it devours, the stronger it became.

And there was something else, the Flames had the ability to burn for eternity, punishing someone in eternal damnation, but that was for the future, it wasn't strong enough at the moment.

The torture of Victor continued on for another ten minutes before he was reduced to ashes and dispersed into the wind.

It took me everyone a while before they were able to resume their usual chatter.

"Whoa did you see that?"

"Of course I did!, I was here the whole time"

"That battle was lit"

"Yeah, and those Flames too"

"Damn he's fierce"

"Does that mean he's ranked 20th now?"

"I think he deserves more though"

"Cough* cough*, alright that's the end of the battle for this group, I think everyone will agree with me that Vin is the undisputed winner of this group battle. Of course if anyone here isn't satisfied they can come up and challenge him." Elder Ling cleared his throat at that moment and said.

But seeing as no one was willing to step up he decided to encourage them "Well, you don't have to worry about anything happening to you, as you can see see, he's not as fierce as you think, I can assure you of that."

But the only thing he got were weird gazes looking at him like he was nuts, is he crazy, that guy literally just burned someone to death and he dared say he was not as fierce as he looked.

There was no way in hell that were going to step in on that stage, no one wanted to die yet.

When Elder Ling saw their reaction, he was quite stomped, he didn't think they were cowards as he couldn't see any signs of cowardice in their eyes. No what he saw was fear.

They were frightened of Vin.

Seeing that no one was willing to come up, Vin automatically won the rest of his battles without lifting a finger.

This was unprecedented in the history of the outer court as the amount of people capable of doing this were very few.

After Elder Ling made some announcements and said a few superfluous words.

The rest of the combatants were free to do whatever they wanted by watching the rest of the matches or whatever.

The Mortal lords competition was going to be held in four days time.

Although the rest of the top twenty were shocked by the battle and the death of Victor, they still had to complete their battles within the next twenty-four hours.

Vin was quite interested in their battles especially the ranked 15th, Daemon Cadmus.

So he decided to stay at the arena and observe, while he walked to the stage where Daemon fought, a clear path was made for him as everyone got out of his way, no one was here wanted to be burned by accidentally offending him.

Besides he was the new ranked 20th so a little respect needed to be shown.

Concurrently...

An argument was being spread among the the inner court scouts...

"That boy, he's quite good"

"Hmmm, we'll take him"

"What do you mean, you'll take him"

"Because we're in charge of his cabin"

"So what, you think that makes you eligible"

"Oh, do you think yourself eligible too"

"Hmph, at least compared to you we're better off "

"You! better off, don't make me laugh"

"And what do you mean by that?!!!"

"I mean it exactly as it is, what, you want to fight?!"

"Oho, bring it on then, you think I'm scared of you"

It got to the point where their auras almost flared when.

"Rather than arguing, does anyone here knows what his realm stage is?"

"Wait, that's true, we didn't find out"

"More like he didn't show it"

"Yes I was observing him, and even though he flared his aura, he didn't reveal his cultivation level"

"So what does that mean then"

"Since he wants to conceal as much information as possible, then I think his goal is quite obvious"

"Wait, you don't mean?..."

"Yes, the Mortal lords rankings, that's his goal"

"Hmm, his aim is quite high, not bad"

***

The day went by in a flash without anything uneventful happening asides the battle of the top twenty.

After the battles for the day Vin retired to his residence, he had observed Daemon Cadmus and the rest of the top twenty and roughly understood their strength, so he knew they wouldn't be a problem to him at all

But he got to say, those people were quite impressive with their skills and some of them were in the late stage of the Body refining realm.

When Vin got home, he opened his booklet and decided to read the last few pages remaining. And it didn't take a few hours before he was done.

"Sigh**. Now then, there's still four days to go before the Mortal lords rankings begun. I wonder what I should do in that time, master said to only meet him after the entire competition was over" he said to himself.

Vin sat down in meditation in his room, he thought about all the things he had comprehended in the Aramaic language and decided to put it to good use.

'That's right, since I plan on creating new techniques for my Flames, I shouldn't neglect sword techniques too, the Wordless sword manual is only the evolution and training of the sword stages, not a technique itself'

'Which means I have to create my own series of sword techniques that would follow me throughout my journey and I know just the perfect starting point'

'Since I'm a dominator of hell itself and my Flames burns the sins of karma, then I would create a technique that embodies sin itself'

'In this world where chaos thrives. Autumn is known by the fallen leaves'

'That would be my starting point.'

Little did he know that this solemn oath of his would truly bring Chaos to his enemies.
