Medusa had no intention of returning to the ancestral home of her descendants. She had made her peace with the world long ago, content to exist on the fringes of mortal society. But as she and her companions – the enigmatic Aleysia, the regal Amphitrite, and the stoic Artemis – made their way to a local restaurant, they were met with an unexpected visitor in the lobby.
"What are you doing here?" Medusa asked, her tone guarded, as the young woman approached them.
The woman bowed her head respectfully. "Umm, pardon my insolence, but the elders asked if you could go to our house one more time," she said, her voice polite but tinged with a hint of hesitation.
Medusa's brow furrowed. "Why?"
"There are younger generations who are coming and do not trust that you truly exist," the woman explained. "They think it is all a scam or a fantastical story."
