I headed toward the war council room, trying to gather my thoughts.
Before I even reached the door, I could hear voices arguing inside. Someone was suggesting sending decoys as warriors first, instead of risking the lives of innocent warriors for some experiments, precisely the kind of thinking that would get our people killed.
I pushed open the heavy steel door with enough force to make it slam against the wall. The loud bang echoed through the room, causing every head to turn toward me. The arguing stopped instantly.
Ramsey sat at the head of the round table, cradling his head. I could tell he's had enough of everything already. He was surrounded by members of our war council, fleeing werewolf Alphas who had taken shelter in the White Mountains and Alpha Lycans who sat uniformly to the right of Ramsey as if mingling with the werewolf Alphas would diminish them.
