Chapter 124 - Serena Snape: Love of Magic - chapter 102

Author's Notes: Chapter edited and corrected by Scott Fellman.

We began walking behind Lady Phenex as we headed toward the main hall. Ravel clung to my arm as we strolled onward.

"By the way, Serena, is there something worrying your queen?" Lady Phenex asked simply.

"Bella? Why?" I asked, confused. Lady Phenex let out a sound from underneath her.

"I've seen her glance at the walls while she frowns before leaving the room and returning a few moments later. That's happened about four times now," Lady Phenex said. I blinked a couple of times and stared at a certain spot as if I could see through the walls. I'd ignored most of the alarms and mental messages I'd been getting.

"...Oh." I said simply before letting out a small laugh. "Don't worry, Lady Prince, it's just Bella getting rid of some vermin," I said simply as I dismissed her concern. Lady Phenex looked at me over her shoulder with a frown.

"And what does that mean?" Lady Phenex asked slowly. I could see Ravel was also curious about the answer. I just shrugged.

"Nothing significant. As you know, my island is usually very protected, but that doesn't mean that other devils don't attempt to enter the island to steal the resources within. They all ended up impaled by Bella's stakes. They gave up after a few attempts."

"I guess they figured that since I'd opened the island so all the guests could enter without any problems, then the defenses on the rest of the island must be down. Or they thought that we were just busy enough not to notice. So they've been trying to get into the forest for a while now."

"Bella is the one in charge of eliminating them," I said simply with a shrug.

"What?! Who dares interrupt my engagement party?!" Ravel exclaimed, annoyed and completely angry. She looked adorable, so that I couldn't help but laugh. Ravel just glared at me. Lady Phenex had stopped and was also frowning at me. I rolled my eyes in amusement.

"Really, don't worry. I made sure all the defenses were strong enough so they couldn't escape. Bella's in charge of security, so that's no problem. And the culprits should be down in the dungeons by now." I said simply. That certainly didn't seem to calm either of the Phenex. I sighed. "Really, you don't have to worry. No devils pose any danger; they're just minor annoyances. Even Bella must be complaining about how weak they are. They only wasted a few seconds of her time." I snorted.

The gaze of both Phenex held for a few seconds before they sighed in unison. They really were mother and daughter.

"Very well, fiancée, I'll trust you," Ravel said simply before snorting adorably and starting to walk again. Lady Phenex just nodded and started walking.

"Leaving that aside. When do you want to exchange the piece?" Lady Phenex asked. I frowned slightly but quickly remembered what she meant to say. The Evil Piece held by Ravel.

"Any time Riser sees fit." I said simply.

"Ravel is no longer part of Riser's Peerage. I traded her for a bishop of mine. That son of mine would cause a scene just to spite you." Lady Phenex snorted as she shook her head. I just smiled slightly. "So you don't mind if we do it now?" she asked again. I simply nodded.

"Of course not." I agreed. Lady Phenex nodded, stopped in front of the doors to the main hall, and turned around.

"Then let's begin," Lady Phenex said. We all nodded. I placed my hand inside my cleavage and took the last bishop piece out of my inventory. Lady Phenex began by creating the circle. The exchange was reasonably straightforward.

Ravel placed herself in the center with my bishop piece inside the circle, and immediately, Lady Phenex and I began circulating our demonic power around the circle, increasing our strength. The three of us began to glow slightly along with the piece.

We continued supplying magical power until my old purple piece turned completely gold, and the slowly seeping piece inside Ravel turned purple. A final bright glow announced that the exchange had been a complete success.

Ravel sighed and handed the golden piece to her mother, who took it in her fingers with a melancholy smile. Ravel smiled at her mother before returning to my side.

"Congratulations on getting your second bishop, Serena," Lady Phenex said with a smile. I nodded.

"Thank you, Lady Phenex." I nodded in her direction. Lady Phenex just chuckled.

"Call me Elize, Serena. We'll be family soon," Lady Ph -Elize said. I nodded. With that, Elize let out one last laugh before stomping into the main room. I could hear her clear her throat and begin her introductory speech.

" Are you ready?" I asked in Ravel's direction as I grabbed her hand. Ravel smiled beatifically at me and nodded.

"More than ready. Shall we go into our party? " Ravel asked, almost excitedly. I nodded. We both took a step forward, and the doors opened completely on their own.

"A loud round of applause for Lady Serena Prince and her fiancée, Ravel Phenex." I listened to the introduction as we started to enter. I almost wanted to groan from exhaustion as I looked at the sheer volume of people inside the party. Just thinking about starting to talk to all of them just gave me a headache.

We both approached as the entire group of devils greeted us. I scanned around my main room, and to my surprise, I saw that they weren't all old devils. Half of them were our age. Even in one of the corners, I could see Rias grumbling to Akeno while Riser tried to look indifferent, but watched them from the other side, not at all subtly, next to his brother.

From what I can see, it seems he received a warning not to cause a scene, at least for today. And I was so very grateful for that. One less thing to deal with. By the time I came out of my thoughts, I realized I'd already finished my acceptance speech, which luckily I'd memorized to the point where I could say it in my sleep, something that had just happened.

With that said, we first approached Lord Phenex. With a brief nod to both of us, Lord Phenex began dragging us through all his acquaintances. I didn't know most of them, either canonically or from this world. Only their names were familiar to me because they were among the surviving pillars after the Civil War. But that's all.

Still, I smiled and let Lucius's hundreds of hours of practicing manners and Noble behavior do all the work.

" Zeoticus, my friend." Lord Phenex said as we approached the group of devils. I could feel Ravel tense in my arms. Or at least her hands did as they pressed against my arm. Her beatific smile never left her face. We were standing in front of the Gremory group. Zeoticus, Venelana, Sirzechs, Grayfia, Rias, and Akeno.

"Reinhard, as always, it's a pleasure to see you again." Lord Gremory smiled. Something Lord Phenex returned with ease.

"Let me introduce you to Lady Serena Prince. You already know my daughter, Ravel." Lord Phenex presented proudly.

"Lord Gremory, it's a pleasure to meet you." I said immediately while bowing slightly.

"It's good to see you again, Lord Gremory." Ravel bowed slightly as well.

"Ravel, it's good to see you again! You're already engaged like a proper woman. If only someone would stop being so stubborn." Lord Gremory said as he looked over his shoulder and looked at Rias. Rias frowned and huffed. Lord Gremory just sighed tiredly before looking at me. "And you own that little secret project Sirzechs keeps talking about, Lady Prince. It's a pleasure to make your acquaintance." Lord Gremory smiled. I could feel Lord Phenex and Ravel tense up slightly.

"Little secret project?" I raised an eyebrow at Sirzechs, who only smiled widely. "You made me sound like a lover," I said mockingly. Sirzechs's eyes widened.

"No way! You know! Tell them about you! And we're working on something special! Something secret! And it's not like that! " Sirzechs tried to say quickly in a panic, "Grayfia was there with us!" he added, raising an eyebrow.

"Now it looks like some kind of threesome," I said mockingly. Sirzechs groaned loudly. "Don't worry, I don't find you attractive at all." I told him honestly. Sirzechs looked at me offendedly.

"Not attractive at all!? Isn't it a little harsh?! Not even a little?! Doesn't this face make you doubt even the slightest bit?! " Sirzechs asked as he began to show me his face from different angles. I raised an eyebrow at him.

"Of course not. I already clarified that Grayfia was the prettiest part of you two. I like women. By the way, Grayfia, you look beautiful tonight." I smiled seductively at Grayfia. She smiled slightly at me.

"Serena, thanks for the compliment; you look good too." Grayfia smiled at me.

"No! Grayfia is mine. You already have Ravel!" Sirzechs said as he hugged Grayfia jealously. Grayfia and I looked at each other before laughing lightly.

"Don't worry, Lord Lucifer. I'm satisfied with the company in my hand." I said with a wide smile as I looked at Ravel. Ravel blushed slightly.

"I hope so." Sirzechs narrowed his eyes at me before his expression changed completely. "By the way! Have you met my little sister yet?! She's Rias! The prettiest and most beautiful sister in the entire Underworld!" Sirzechs said proudly as he introduced Rias.

"Onii-sama." Rias sighed tiredly. Rias gave a fake smile and approached us. "Lady Prince, Ravel, congratulations on your engagement," Rias said fakely. Ravel smiled back.

"Miss Gremory, it's a pleasure to meet you. Sirzechs has spoken highly of you." I smiled lightly at her. Rias sighed and grimaced.

"And that's what I'm afraid of," Rias muttered miserably.

"Thank you, Rias. It's a pleasure to see you again." Ravel said falsely. I could see that Ravel had a lot she wanted to say, but she fell silent almost immediately. Lord Phenex seemed to notice and immediately took charge of the conversation, Rias practically falling back once again along with Akeno. We chatted for a few minutes with the Gremorys.

"By the way, the magic performed on the ceiling is truly amazing. Do you think you could do it in my house?" Sirzechs asked happily while looking at the ceiling. I looked at him absentmindedly.

"of cour-"

"That depends, Lord Lucifer. First, we need to talk about the price." Ravel interrupted. Sirzechs's face twitched slightly, and he looked at Ravel in confusion. I was confused as well, but Ravel's firm grip kept me silent.

"P-price?" Sirzechs asked, as if the word sounded unfamiliar in his mouth. Ravel nodded with a serious look.

"Of course, price. The spell my fiancée performed is something truly intricate; she spent hours working on it under a time bubble to get it done on time. Not only that, but she had to memorize the night sky to be able to replicate it correctly, which took her years in the human world. It's a truly exhausting task for my fiancée. I hope you didn't think it would be performed for free, Lord Lucifer." Ravel said easily.

I blinked a few times. That hadn't happened like that at all. Was she... trying to extort money from Sirzechs? I remained silent as I watched the play unfolding in front of me.

"O-of course not!" Sirzechs smiled nervously. "I'm more than happy to pay for Serena's work!" he added quickly. Ravel nodded firmly.

"Very well, we'll be in touch to negotiate the price. If you'll excuse us, we have a few more rounds to make. Lord and Lady Gremory, it's a pleasure to see you, Father; we'll go alone from now on." Ravel said as she bowed before starting to push me. I gave a quick nod to the others, who all looked surprised, or well, Lord Phenex seemed proud and let Ravel drag me along. I quickly placed a muffliato over us.

"You know, you really look sexy, extorting a Satan." I purred as my hand circled her hip and pulled her closer to me. Ravel blushed deeply but pressed herself against my body.

"S-sorry to interrupt you like that, but I couldn't let you give away your work!" Ravel began nervously. I laughed lightly.

"Don't worry, and you can interrupt as many times as you want. That was sexy." I said playfully before leaning in and claiming a small, chaste kiss from Ravel. Ravel sighed against my lips, blushing. I dropped the muffliato, and we continued walking to our next objective.

"All the devils present are ignoring me," I hummed in Ravel's direction after meeting several more devils. Ravel blinked and looked at me as we walked to the next group.

"What? Of course not." Ravel tried to say, though she was frowning. I rolled my eyes.

"If they do, outside of Fengxian and Sheila, most of them have been talking directly to you so far." I said amusedly. Ravel stopped and thought about their recent interactions, her eyes widening slightly.

"Oh," Ravel said, surprised. "I didn't realize." She added, and I shrugged.

"Don't worry. Even if my so-called inheritable 'trait' was announced on the Rating Game broadcast, I'm guessing not everyone believes it, or I'm guessing they think that since I'm getting engaged to you, specifically the Phenex, that you will be in charge of everything. And that includes selling my potions." I hummed lightly.

"Well, it's a shame they were wrong," Ravel said coldly, her eyes narrowed. I raised an eyebrow at her before laughing lightly.

"You don't need to worry. Lucius is already taking notes on all of them." I said amusedly. Ravel stopped and nodded.

"Fine, I'll talk to him later," Ravel said simply, not knowing whether to feel sorry for the other devils in her path or excited by it.

"Both" Bella and Enid's voices sounded simultaneously, sounding extremely amused. I raised an eyebrow at them, and they smiled innocently at me. I snorted and continued walking beside Ravel.

"Lord Beelzebub, it's a pleasure to see you again, Lady Leviathan; it's an honor to meet you. Both of you, thank you for coming." I said as I bowed to Ajuka and Serafall. Ravel immediately greeted them as well.

"Lady Prince, Miss Phenex. Congratulations on your engagement," Ajuka said with a smile.

"Thank you-"

"Ajuka-chan! Is that who you were talking about?! " Serafall asked with a smile as she came closer to take a closer look at me. Ajuka nodded.

"This is Serena Prince, a succubus recently promoted to high-class devil." Introduced by Ajuka, Serafall looked at me briefly before smiling.

"Magical girls, pro or con?!" she asked quickly while pointing her finger at me.

"Pro," I said before I realized. I blinked in confusion. Where had that come from?

"Do you like magical girls!? What do you like about them?! Did you see my show!? Miracle ☆ Levia-tan!? What did you think!? " Serafall asked in quick succession almost immediately.

"I love magical girls, what they represent, what they do, their appearance, everything! I love how they never give up. They always fight with all their might and are examples of justice, heroines who use all their magical powers to stop evil and bring hope!"

"And while there are darker tropes about magical girls, like dark magical girls or how sometimes a magical girl falls or gets mind-controlled by bad guys and turns evil for a while only to be saved by the power of friendship, they all get to be friends again. Aaaahhh. They're amazing. And best of all, they look really so adorable and cute doing it! They make me wanna-"

-ruin them.

I closed my mouth tightly just before that last word. I could feel my teeth rattling violently. I froze in place. Damn you, Baiser! I thought I had most of Baiser's magical girl roster under control, but damn it seems not! All it took was someone talking about magical girls for that part to explode and start babbling before I knew it!

I could hear the laughter of the rest of my peerage in my mind. I felt my cheeks begin to heat up sharply.

Everyone, and I mean everyone, the devils at the engagement party looked at me strangely, including Ravel and Ajuka beside me. I guess I was talking too loud. Even Serafall was surprised and looking at me strangely, much to my surprise. I'm sure I had an adoring expression on my face while babbling about magical girls.

But I guess no one had ever been as big a fan of magical girls as she was, not counting boys, which caught her off guard. And just as I expected, Serafall's expression immediately changed. If she had been smiling before, she was now radiant. She approached me with a smile that covered her entire face and took my hands.

"Good! Now you're my best friend! We magical girl lovers must stand together!" Serafall proclaimed firmly. I opened my mouth and closed it.

"No-wait, I-" I tried to tell her.

"And you still haven't said what you think of my show! As a magical girl lover, you should have seen it!" Serafall insisted. Yes, I did.

"Now, now, Serafall, you're overwhelming her," Ajuka said amusedly, Serafall pouted and broke away.

"But Ajuka-chaaan, I've never had a magical girl-loving partner before! This is special! " Serafall complained.

"Even so, I know if I don't stop you, you'll completely monopolize her. It's her engagement party, and they have things to do," Ajuka said. Serafall pouted. "You can meet her another day. I'm sure Serena would be happy to talk to you about magical girls." Ajuka placated.

"Fine! But another day, she'll be all mine! " Serafall threatened before looking at me. "See you Serena! Ravel! Congratulations on your engagement! I'll go find Sona-chan! I must tell her there's one more member in the Magical Girl fan group!" Serafall said with a smile before turning around and heading towards the Sitri group. I sighed in relief. Luckily, we had already greeted her, so it's unlikely that I'll run into Serafall again.

"Were you the one in charge of all the decorations?" Ajuka asked with a smile as he looked at the ceiling. I nodded. "I'm impressed. It almost seems like you want to overshadow our work of creating a moon in the sky," Ajuka said almost mockingly. My eyes widened slightly.

"Of course not! The dimensions to make something like that would be impossible for me! " I said immediately. Ajuka laughed lightly.

"So… if you had help? Would you be able to replicate this across the entire Underworld? " Ajuka asked curiously. I stopped. I could hear Ravel gasp.

"You want... me to create a night sky in the underworld?" I asked incredulously. Ajuka smiled and shrugged.

"It's certainly a better sight than a purple sky and only one moon," Ajuka said simply. I quickly began to make calculations one after another.

"It's impossible," I said almost immediately. "No… I don't have enough demonic power to do it or sustain it. Something that high-level would require enormous amounts of demonic power, including making sure the spell doesn't break every few months, and then there's the logistics of where to place it. As realistic as it seems, the spell is on the ceiling. Doing it in an open space… I don't know if it's possible." I said quickly.

"That's a shame." Ajuka hummed as he looked up at the sky once more.

"What if you try it?" Ravel asked, and I looked at her curiously, as did Ajuka. She cleared her throat. "I mean, you can try to figure it out in... our 'project.' I'm sure it'll be something wonderful," Ravel said slowly, looking at me uncertainly. I paused slightly. A starry sky above the city I was about to create? Was it possible?

The city already had wards covering the entire city. Placing one more, a completely harmless one to maintain the enchantment of the starry sky, was a possibility.

"I... I think it's possible." I said as I thought about it more and more.

" Oohh? I would very much want to see that. Something that wide will be worth seeing." Ajuka said as his eyes sparkled. I nodded slightly.

"I have... I have to think about it. I have some ideas." I said distractedly. Ajuka smiled and nodded.

" If you need help, you can always ask for it, even if it's just to function as a battery," Ajuka said playfully. I looked at him in confusion. He just laughed. "You said you lack demonic power. We Satans have too much of it." He said playfully. My eyes widened. I didn't think they were necessary for something the size of a city, but it was nice to have the option.

"I'll have to think about it, Lord Beelzebub. But unfortunately, we have to keep entertaining the guests for now." I said politely. Ajuka smiled and nodded.

"Then I won't hold you back any longer. Once again, congratulations." Ajuka said with a smile before walking away and joining Serafall and Sirzechs. We both watched Ajuka walk away.

"Once again, I'm sorry if I said anything I shouldn't have," Ravel said, biting her lip. I blinked in her direction.

"Huh? Oh... never mind." I said as I placed a muffliato on her. "Actually, I don't remember if I mentioned it, but never apologize for saying something. You can talk freely to whomever you want. I trust you enough to know when to talk about something or not." I said with a shrug. Ravel nodded shyly, and we both fell into a comfortable silence.

"So… magical girls?" Ravel asked me with an amused smile. I groaned loudly.

"Could you forget it?" I begged. Ravel smiled widely.

"Of course not; it's something my fiancée likes. I must be completely aware of your tastes, as a good lover! Even if they are magical girls! " Ravel said amusedly. I groaned once more. "Besides… it turns out to be somewhat poetic, a succubus, the embodiment of lust, loves magical girls, the embodiment of purity, hope, and justice. There's a lot to think about." Ravel laughed as she covered her smile with her fist. I groaned loudly once more.

"Please, kill me." I groaned in pain. Ravel laughed, and I could hear the other laughter in my mind through the link. "Just… let's keep talking to the others." I began dragging a very amused Ravel along.

"There you are, girls. I was looking for you." I said as I approached the three Succubi my age who were in their little group.

"Lady Prince, Miss Phenex, it's a pleasure to see you. Congratulations on your engagement." Maria said immediately as she bowed. Ravel nodded.

"No need, Maria. She doesn't care about formalities," Maomao said simply. I raised an eyebrow at her before shrugging.

"It may be like that in private, but in public, I expect a bit of formality," I said simply. Maomao rolled her eyes but smiled mockingly.

"Serena, Miss Phenex, congratulations on your engagement," Maomao said politely as she bowed elegantly.

"Wow, I didn't know you could be so refined. Very different from seeing you with your stomach melting on the floor of my laboratory." Maomao moaned long-sufferingly.

"Will you stop mentioning that to everyone?" Maomao moaned.

"You stole one of my potions. I have every right to make fun of you," I said playfully.

"Congratulations to both of you!" Jester exclaimed with a smile.

"Thanks, um… Jester, was it?" Ravel smiled slightly. Jester nodded exaggeratedly.

"Jester Lavorre! At your service! " Jester said happily. Ravel nodded.

"How have you been?" I asked softly. Maomao just grimaced.

"The other devils look at us like we're trash and lust, so... it's all normal. At least they don't bother us directly, and the food is good," Maomao said with a shrug. The other two succubi nodded.

"I apologize for that." I sighed wearily.

"Names? Or point them out, I'll take care of them," Ravel said, narrowing her eyes. Maomao looked confused. "You're my fiancée's people. I'll always be on her side, And soon, you'll be our responsibility. Anyone who dares to cause trouble with you and the rest of the succubi will have to deal with me," Ravel said determinedly. The three succubi's eyes widened slightly.

"Your fiancée is scary, Serena," Maomao said amusedly.

"She's sexy." I purred lightly. Ravel blushed a little and punched me in the arm.

"I'm serious." She pouted, and I laughed lightly.

"Don't worry, we're used to it, and it's just looks," Maria reassured us with a smile. Ravel looked at them and wrinkled her nose before growling.

"Fine, but if they do anything worse, I'll take care of them." Ravel growled angrily; I chuckled and nodded.

"Of course, I wouldn't take that pleasure away from you, my dear." I said amusedly. Ravel snorted but smiled slightly.

"By the way, Jester, I had something for you for behaving yourself in the lab." I said playfully. Jester's eyes widened.

"Something for me!? Give it to me!" Jester exclaimed, holding out her hands shamelessly. I reached between my breasts and pulled out a chocolate frog from its box. I'd removed the card inside, but it was still in its packaging. I didn't know which of the other three had placed large quantities of magical candy inside the house, but I guess it served a purpose.

"Chocolate!" Jester exclaimed happily. "And it's a frog, it's so cute!" Jester laughed.

"By the way, you have to be quick if you don't want it to leave," I said playfully, my eyes shining. Jester looked confused but opened the box anyway. The frog sprang to life and began jumping. Jester squealed, as did Ravel and Maria. It said a lot that Maomao barely flinched, even when the frog landed on her head.

"Oh, my Satan! She's alive! " Jester squealed happily. The frog jumped off Maomao's head once more, and Jester jumped in to grab it. Once in her hands, the frog tried to escape. "What do I do with her?!" Jester asked excitedly.

"Just eat it," I said playfully.

"Eat it!?" Ravel asked incredulously. I laughed lightly.

"It's just chocolate in the shape of a frog. It's magically animated, but it's still just chocolate," I said playfully. Jester smiled widely at the chocolate frog before taking a bite out of the frog's head. Jester moaned slightly.

"It's delicious!" Jester squealed, then took two more bites, and the frog disappeared into Jester's stomach. "Do you have any more?!" Jester asked as she held out her hand with a big smile.

"Mmm, I have something you might like better," I said playfully. I pulled out a box of Berty's Every Flavor Beans. Bott . I quickly changed the packaging to a more generic box. "These are every flavor candy. Try one." I extended the package in Jester's direction. Jester's eyes lit up.

"All the flavors?!" she asked excitedly. I nodded.

"Everything from chocolate and honey to vomit and belly fluff, dare you?" I asked playfully, waving the packaging. Jester's hand moved almost immediately and grabbed one. She threw it into her mouth and quickly bit into it. Her eyes widened slightly.

"Does it taste like bacon?!" Jester asked in surprise before smiling widely.

" Okay, that's weird. I want to try one," Maomao said with a smile. She took one and threw it into her mouth. She quickly grimaced and shuddered. "Dirty socks, Serena, what the hell? " Maomao asked with a grimace. I just laughed. Maria reached out and grabbed one.

"Oh, it's curry. How can they have these flavors?" Maria asked, confused, as she bit into her candy.

"I want another one!" Jester exclaimed as she grabbed another beanbag. Jester began chewing slowly with a grimace. "It tastes like dirt!"

"Do they really have all the flavors?" Ravel asked curiously, carefully choosing one of the candies as well. "Vanilla ice cream? Just... what? " Ravel asked, confused, chewing the candy. I laughed and shrugged.

"Magic." I said playfully.

"So, when you get bored of potions, you make magic sweets?" Maomao asked mockingly as she popped another candy. "Mmm, roast beef."

"Maybe," I said with a shrug. "I have others if you want to be my guinea pigs," I said playfully.

" Yes !" Jester exclaimed almost immediately. I handed her the box of candy and pulled out another package.

"These are called Elephant on a Bicycle. Try one." I said with a grin. Jester didn't even hesitate, grabbing one at random and throwing it into her mouth without hesitation. Waiting for the effect to kick in, she opened her mouth to speak, but a squeal of a monkey came out of her mouth. Her hand immediately hit her mouth, her eyes wide open just like everyone else's.

Her eyes immediately lit up as she realized what was happening. She took her hand off her mouth and began to try to speak, only for the squeals of a monkey to continue coming out. Jester immediately began miming a monkey, moving back and forth with her arms curled before coughing slightly as the effect wore off. Maomao and Maria began laughing out loud, even Ravel, who giggled as she looked away.

"That was amazing, I want to try it!" Maria said playfully as she grabbed one of the candies. She chewed it immediately and opened her mouth, only to hear the sound of an eagle squawk coming out of her mouth. Maria's eyes lit up, and she started squawking more.

"My turn!" said Maomao. She grabbed one and chewed it. She braced herself and opened her mouth wide, and out came the trumpeting of an elephant. Maomao's eyes widened, but she didn't stop. She kept making the noise before the effect wore off. Then we started laughing.

"Wanna try it?" I grabbed one and offered it to Ravel. Ravel nodded and gulped it down almost immediately. She braced herself and then opened her mouth to roar like a lion. Ravel wasn't shy about continuing to roar while making an exquisitely adorable growling face. We started laughing once again.

"I see you're having fun, Ravel, witch." Riser's voice interrupted us. I rolled my eyes.

"Big brother!" Ravel said, sounding surprised. Then she seemed to remember exactly where we were and looked around to see all the devils staring at us. Ravel blushed deeply and tried to hide behind me.

"Do you want to try one?" I asked Riser as I grabbed a particular one. "Unless you're scared?" I said mockingly. Riser growled.

"Give me that!" Riser said before swallowing the candy. As always, he fell once more. He braced himself as if he was about to make a worthy noise and opened his mouth only to let out a chicken-like cluck. His eyes widened in disbelief before he looked at me indignantly and started clucking in my direction. It was the most aggressive, angry, and indignant cluck I had ever heard. And I snapped, I started laughing out loud. The three succubi quickly followed behind me, and Ravel didn't resist either.

Riser blushed deeply and closed his mouth. I could hear Rias's laughter in the distance. Finally, the effect wore off, and Riser glared at me.

"Damn witch! It's okay! Let's stop playing! We have a duel to have! It's time to settle this! " Riser exclaimed in my direction. I caught my breath and nodded. I handed the box of candy to Jester, who grabbed it excitedly. I kissed Ravel softly and let go.

"All right, I guess it's time." I said playfully.
