When Ye Tian returned to the villa, he noticed that many tents had been set up nearby.
Not only that, but his eyes were also met with a sea of soldiers, densely packed around the villa.
The flags held by the soldiers bore the emblems of both the Heaven Dou and Star Luo Empires, intertwined together.
Seeing this, Ye Tian understood.
It seemed that envoys from the Star Luo Empire had arrived.
"I didn't expect your villa to be so grand," said the Sea Witch, who was riding a horse beside Ye Tian. She adjusted her glasses, her eyes glinting.
"It's just a bit too remote. With your abilities, you could have built it in East Sea City."
Built in the countryside, who would know about it?
Ye Tian smiled faintly.
"I've always preferred to stay away from the noise."
"Well, you could inherit a god's position then. As everyone knows, gods are the most reclusive," the Sea Witch said, her eyes curving into crescents.
"So, Bo Saixi sent you to follow me just to brainwash me, huh?" Ye Tian shot her a glare.
"Little brother, isn't that exactly what Lady Bo Saixi meant?" The Sea Witch blinked and chuckled.
"Do you know what my condition for becoming a god is?" Ye Tian's expression suddenly turned serious.
He needed to expel the inheritance mark from his body soon.
Given the Sea Witch's intelligence, she might figure it out.
To avoid unnecessary complications, he needed to convince her to stand on his side.
It was clear that the Sea Witch held great respect for Bo Saixi.
This was something he could use to his advantage.
Hearing Ye Tian's words, the Sea Witch looked suspicious. She twirled a strand of her hair with her finger and asked, "Isn't it just passing the Sea God's Nine Trials?"
"That's correct," Ye Tian replied calmly. "But that's just the foundation."
He continued to explain, "The power of a god's position is immense. If I were to accept it directly, I would undoubtedly explode and die."
"So, there needs to be a buffer to temporarily bear the power of the god's position for me."
At this, the Sea Witch's smile stiffened, and she asked with a hint of caution, "Is this buffer... Lady Bo Saixi?"
Her breathing grew heavier as she stared at Ye Tian in disbelief.
Though her face showed shock, deep down, she already believed Ye Tian's words.
Lady Bo Saixi was a Level 99 Limit Douluo and the Sea God's representative on earth.
No one was more likely to serve as the buffer than her.
"What are the consequences for the buffer?" she asked warily.
"Death," Ye Tian said without hesitation, uttering just two words.
"Lady Bo Saixi will die!"
It was Xiao Bai who spoke.
Her expression was even more shocked than the Sea Witch's.
After hearing Ye Tian's words, she even spat out the snack she had been secretly eating.
Bo Saixi was the most powerful protector of the Demon Spirit Great White Shark clan!
Over the past century, the clan had grown significantly, all thanks to Bo Saixi's influence!
To Xiao Bai, Bo Saixi was her greatest benefactor.
She never expected that Bo Saixi's death would be one of the costs of Ye Tian becoming a god.
This was something she could never accept.
Hearing this, the Sea Witch's expression also darkened.
However, she was more experienced and had stronger mental resilience than Xiao Bai.
But that didn't mean she could easily accept the fact that Bo Saixi would die.
After all, the Seven Sacred Pillars had grown under Bo Saixi's guidance.
To the Sea Witch, Bo Saixi was both a mentor and a friend.
For a moment, the Sea Witch felt like she couldn't breathe.
She gasped for air and asked Ye Tian, "Does Lady Bo Saixi... know about this?"
"Yes," Ye Tian replied indifferently.
Then he sighed and said, "This is actually one of the reasons I don't want to become a god. I don't want to take someone else's life just to gain personal power."
Of course, this was a lie.
He simply didn't want to become the Sea God, nothing more. He didn't have such noble morals.
But the Sea Witch completely believed him, forcing a pale smile.
"I never expected you, Ye Tian, to resist the temptation of absolute power."
"If it were me, I'd probably have a fifty percent chance of falling into that abyss of desire."
"Do you really not want to become a god?" Xiao Bai asked incredulously.
She truly couldn't believe that Ye Tian would turn down a god's position when it was right in front of him.
Ye Tian initially wanted to spout some lofty nonsense but then thought better of it.
Talking to Xiao Bai about this would be like playing the lute to a cow.
In the end, he simply replied with a single word: "Yeah."
"Ye Tian, hurry up and dismount. My father is waiting for you inside."
At the entrance of the villa, Ning Rongrong, dressed in a blue dress, waved at Ye Tian.
As she spoke, she curiously glanced at the two girls beside Ye Tian.
Both were quite beautiful, but the one with distinct gray and white hair was clearly from a different race.
Ning Rongrong's gaze fell on the Sea Witch, and she asked curiously, "Is this your new wife?"
"Oh ho, little sister, you've got a good eye," the Sea Witch said with a light laugh, glancing at Ye Tian and blinking twice.
"Who's your little sister?" Ning Rongrong frowned, then turned and walked into the villa without looking back.
The Sea Witch, still on her horse, was left in disarray.
Watching Ning Rongrong's retreating figure, the Sea Witch asked, "Who is she?"
Ye Tian replied indifferently, "The little princess of the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect. Don't mind her. Let's go in."
The three dismounted, with Ye Tian leading the way and the Sea Witch following silently into the living room.
Once inside, Ye Tian sensed that the atmosphere in the living room was somewhat strange.
The room was packed with people, but not a single sound could be heard.
Qian Renxue, her left arm in a cast, sat on the sofa, staring at a golden-haired young man across from her.
To her left was her "teacher," Ning Fengzhi.
To her right was a burly old man with grayish-white hair, dressed in luxurious attire.
It was clear.
This old man was likely Prince Xue Xing of the Heaven Dou Empire.
Ye Tian's entrance broke the strange atmosphere in the living room.
Everyone turned to look at him and his companions.
Ye Tian remained composed. After all, he was the owner of the villa, and everyone else was a guest.
The Sea Witch smiled slightly. She loved watching drama.
Xiao Bai, however, wasn't paying attention to the crowd. She stuck close to the Sea Witch, trying to make herself as inconspicuous as possible.
Standing behind the sofa, Ning Rongrong said in a neutral tone, "Father, I've brought Ye Tian."
"So, you're Ye Tian?"
The one who spoke was a burly man sitting across from Ning Fengzhi.
Ning Rongrong pointed at the man and introduced him, "This is the current patriarch of the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan, Yu Yuanzhen."
Ye Tian walked over to stand opposite Yu Yuanzhen, replying as he moved, "That's right, it's me."
Seeing that Ye Tian didn't bow, Yu Yuanzhen angrily flicked his sleeve. "Young people these days have no manners."
"Sorry, but I've always been this way when dealing with people from enemy nations," Ye Tian said calmly.
