Hello all!
I wanted to thank you for the support so far, and don't worry a chapter is releasing right after this. I never expected this many people to read this so it's truly overwhelming and again, thank you.
That said, I wanted to address a couple questions and notes I got in the comments. First though, this X-Men group may have ages that don't fully line up but there's so many different versions I just took some of everything.
1) I understand some of you think Vance is revealing too much info, and this'll be explained in the chapter a bit too. All he told the X-Men was he's a sorcerer, so kept just about everything to the chest. This way when he does other stuff he has spells as an excuse. He gave different, and a bit more specific, info to SHIELD for a few reasons. One is that he wants to work with SHIELD/Avengers down the road, obviously not just controlled by them but with them (fuck HYDRA ya know?). Second, well, he's gotta make some decisions that aren't perfect. Lastly, he's keeping adaptation as close to the chest as possible which leads to the next point.
2) Some are unhappy with the progress of adaptations so far. I mentioned in an earlier chapter, but Vance was initially hesitant to just inflict damage on himself. He's getting over that now, but due to that he focused on the Limitless side first. The upcoming chapter will see some major progress made though so look forward to that. Also, in reference to him adapting to the information he gets from the Six Eyes, I misrepresented the mental strain as pain in earlier chapters but this has been fixed.
3) Lastly, some people didn't like that he used a blindfold for public life and vigilante work. I do have a reason I did this, it'll come to play within the next few chapters. Also, again, he's gotta make some mistakes. It won't blow up his public persona, but he will smarten up in time through experiences. Plus, he'll be adapted to the eyes fully soon. I might stick with it for when he's in action but I haven't decided yet, lmk what you guys think.
All this said, I do appreciate the criticism as much as I do the praise! I read every comment, so just know that I'm taking everything y'all say as ways to improve.
Thank you again for the support, and I hope I can live up to your expectations!
